And I feel a little liberated.
There was a great buzz at the hospital like everyone was pleased to be doing their bit, admin, hca's to deputy director of nursing and medical consultants working on a Saturday to get the job done.

Really succinct information giving to make informed decisions for anyone with concerns, great follow up service.
Couldn't be prouder to work in the NHS or as someone with an at risk condition, having this service looking out for me.
Just wanted to share!

@Primulachristmas

My mum had hers this morning Smile
Brilliant news! That must be a good feeling. I can't wait to say the same in the coming weeks.

My Auntie and Uncle are having theirs on Saturday (aged 85 and 86), second one on 9 January. Doctor's surgery phoned them, only problem is they can't take their car due to lack of parking. My Auntie phoned to tell me, begging me to get ours done as soon as offered (it'll be months) as she wants to see us in the summer.

@TeenPlusTwenties

Now that's cleared up Smile what i want to know is, is everyone being given stickers, or just my DF?

DM said everyone else going in looked so much older and more frail than DF. He is 90, but promised not to go up ladders over lockdown. By Sept he was up them again clearing gutters. GrinShock

Just had mine.

I’m also frontline NHS.

Didn’t think I’d be getting it before the new year. Last minute opportunity came up at lunchtime, so I got vaccinated right after lunch. I feel guilty to be honest. I worry that someone else could have needed it more than me.

Feels like a weird anticlimax to be honest. Thought I’d feel euphoric. Instead just a bit hollow.

I guess the reality is that the pandemic has a long time left to run. Getting vaccinated doesn’t change the restrictions I’m living under. Doesn’t mean I can see my parents. Doesn’t mean I can take my kids to soft play or for play dates.

I’m relieved that I probably won’t get sick for covid now. I’m glad that I probably won’t spread the virus to others (maybe).

But... yeah. Weird feeling.

Congratulations I am sure you deserve it

Think of it as one small victory because we heaven knows we need them this year.

You are a pioneer that has taken a step forwards for all of us. Every person we here about that has had the jab gives us all a little bit more hope

My mum in her early 80s got a call this morning to go and have her vaccination tomorrow morning. I'm so delighted she has her appointment so soon.
