If we did not have Christmas, I think we would make it to the vaccines time with a much smaller winter peak

I know. Would have made much more sense to say no mixing for this year. Especially given the vaccine is getting to be a reality. A few days vs after is simply not worth it at all but sadly many don’t care and will plough on regardless.

So many people dont care!

feelingverylazytoday · 07/12/2020 11:42

No. They'll just stick to the tier system. They need to keep as many shops and businesses open as possible.

timeforanewstart · 07/12/2020 11:59

Not as such but lets face it tier 3 is almost the same as lovkdown so much places will prob just be put in that tier

People say about xmas but our family of 4 will be seeing my pareNts and brother making 8 people
Normally my ds1 is at college in class 30 , ds 2 in a bubble of 180 at secondary , myself in office with 5/6 others , dh visiting multiple houses daily
Ds's also do rugby /football which will also have 2 weeks off so our contacts will be quite a bit less for at least a week , i also know quite a lot who are scaling down xmas this year in terms of numbers

Maybe If the Tories hadn’t been voted in and allowed to repeatedly keep trashing the NHS so it habitually can’t cope in even a normal winter people might feel more inclined to comply this time. People have got the NHS they voted for, ie that can’t cope with even normal winter pressures. Why should we lock down to protect it when no one has been bothered in the past? These comments about “selfishness” and “people looking out for themselves” why is it only an issue now we have Covid?

emilybrontescorsett · 08/12/2020 12:57

I agree with the above poster.
Why should the plebs at the bottom of the pile care?
The toffs at the top do not care about anyone else.

CosyQueen · 08/12/2020 12:58

100% - I would even bet money on it!

Jessuk86 · 08/12/2020 13:16

Yes and hopefully will take the strain off the nhs enough to bang out aload of vaccines to put an end to lockdowns and then restrictions can gradually ease I hope!!

ancientgran · 08/12/2020 16:46

Highly likely I would have thought, best case would be widespread tier 3.
