The Times is reporting that we are headed for a month long lockdown until Dec 1st.
No details yet...
Why do they always announce things on the drip feed - makes it all even more stressful
@Lockheart the trouble is that the government’s communication strategy encourages this. We should be getting all
the information up front. It stinks.
I agree, we should be getting all the information up front. It is one of the many things to add to the list of reasons why this government is an utter shambles.

But gossip and rumour will not help anyone.

No good if they don't shut schools. Plenty of spread in schools, smaller children asymptomatic often. What's the use of locking everything down and then keeping schools open?

@colouringindoors me too.. I have waited 11 months for one! It's 30 miles away and I accepted a 7.45 appointment cancellation. Would be there at 3am if I had to!

Do teachers want schools/colleges to close? As a parent, I would prefer them to shut but I’m wondering what staff think? Plus, does anyone know if they’ll be updating the Gov.uk advice re the clinically vulnerable? There were 3 in my family shielding last time, now we’re just expected to carry on as normal it seems.

For the love of Christ.

I really don’t think either my mental health or my finances are going to survive another lockdown. And in fucking shit weather this time too.

Let's wait and see what the official announcement is (if there is one).

Well, there will be one won't there @Lockheart? We know the pattern by now.

It's disgusting that we've heard nothing at all from our so called prime minister for weeks now it feels. No announcements come officially - every time we are dealing with this shit like this.

How can people say 'don't speculate' etc -

Our bloody government encourages us to speculate by dealing with us in this shitty, patronising, demeaning way ...

I hate them. I hate them. I hate them. Sorry.

The way things are being leaked to newspapers for people to speculate/agonise over is absolutely shameful

Can someone explain how I can do a link simply as I’m not technical in any way but I read something yesterday that others may find helpful regarding schools?

I ve got an induction booked in next Saturday, I ve not seen friends or family since march, and being in a tier 3 area coming to terms with the fact that they won't be meeting our son for a while.

I ve just wrapped my head round being in hospital for sometime overnight alone ( I've lost 4 relatives to missed or too late diagnoses by the NHS which they all died from which makes me pretty unnerved by hospital wards) since it's unlikely I ll get to 4cm in the 6 hours my DH can be there, if lockdown makes the hospital restrictions any worse in the next week I don't know how I m going to do this.

As long as the schools stay open I’ll remain sane. Please god let them remain open. I’m a TA and more than happy to work also.

Absolutely no point in any lockdown if schools will stay open. Madness.

@ShortFatandDumpy

Ffs. We were locked down in Wales until mid July. Local lockdown all of September which went right into the Welsh Fire Break.

I have not seen another human (except Tesco click and collect man) since August. I know no one in my borough. I cant take anymore Sad

I think Drakeford knew about this. He said we had tried county lockdown which failed, he has done the firebreak, he is done with it now until after xmas. Knowing full well that the english were going into lockdown so we would not be seeing them anyway.

We will just have to amuse ourselves the best way we can for the next month.

Oh that will be fine then. Good thing there is no spread in universites or schools.

Hmm

This
Just shut the schools in LA they have shut public schools until January the theory being it is less disruptive to have a clear plan until the end of the semester than an unknown of when they will return so all planning is adhoc

You don't have to tell me how awful this government is - no argument from me there.

I still say guesswork and speculation only lead to more confusion and the spread of false information and are extremely unhelpful.
