How long are everyone’s test results taking?

We are about to go for a family coronavirus test this PM as I’ve developed a cough and sore throat... dreading a potentially long wait

How long is everyone else waiting? Is anyone actually getting results within 48 hours anymore?

DD tested on Sunday and she received her positive result at 6am his morning. Just taken DS for his test this afternoon. He's about a day behind her with symptoms and if positive will take it to 3 active cases in his year.

Just called 119. I spoke to someone this morning who said not a problem she’d chase them and we would get them today. Now there’s an automated message saying if they’re not back in 72 hours to keep isolating for ten days (14 for rest of household) makes me wonder if there’s not a (nother) almighty fuck up behind the scenes

guidance is pretty clear that you need to self isolate if youre waiting for a test because you have symptoms.
I dont think that is the case for people who have weekly tests or are doing a trial

I had a test at lunchtime and I'm hoping it will be as quick as last time (less than 24 hours) but I doubt it. I was the only one at the test centre which surprised me

Yes, and your household. Work colleague had to have yesterday off as his son developed symptoms over the weekend. He knew it was unlikely as child had already been isolating for 13 days along with the whole of his year Group at school.

Tested Saturday. Negative result Monday.

DH and I had just returned from working overseas so we're in quarantine anyway. Luckily i'd already got a big Tesco delivery booked!

Daughter had this one Sunday at 1pm results back 6am Tuesday morning - so 40 hours?

test Monday 1pm. Result back before 7am Tuesday.

Finally!! 57 hours later they’re back and negative as expected. DS has run out to play on the field he’s so happy’

Tested sunday 10.30 , still waiting to hear back .

The do seem to be taking a bit longer this week, but I really dont want a third day off work and school

I got a text first, swiftly followed by an email

56 hours, negative thank goodness.

DH was tested at a drive through site Monday at 1:00pm. His result came through today (Tuesday) at 8am. So about 19 hours. He was negative thankfully.

DH was tested at at drive through at 1.30 yesterday, no result yet, this is a repeat as his first one was invalid, so we are going in to day 6 of isolation

Drive through test at 4.50pm on Monday, just got the results now so about 41 hours

Tested at 11am Sunday - at a drive through site, but I had to do the test myself. Still waiting, feeling horrendous guilt for keeping kids & DH stuck at home almost certainly unnecessarily.

DD was tested at 5pm on Monday, still waiting for results.

Tested 12:30pm Monday and still waiting so 50 hours and counting

Tested 1.15 yesterday, negative result received 10 minutes ago so around 29 hours

Our result came through at 4pm so 47 hours. Negative too thankfully.

Test 10am yesterday result 4pm today (negative)

Really interesting to hear how the waiting times seem to vary so much across the country. We had a test on Monday morning and received our negative result on Tuesday afternoon, so just over 24 hours or so, which I found very impressive. Wondering how long it'll be until this rumoured 20min saliva test will be rolled out, will hopefully make things much easier for many people.

I'd be very interested to know the ages of the dc on here who may have it. Esp the pp who said 3 positive in one year!
