Panic buying ....have you started?

I've had two of my friends today text me saying they have bought a frozen turkey today.
Incase people start panic buying them and it's like the toilet roll fiasco.
Please tell me this isn't a actual thing?
Are turkeys the new toilet rolls?

I had kitchen roll and toilet rolls from Waitrose yesterday. Didn't have antibacterial hand-wash or Persil but that's not a worry.

I go to the supermarket quite regularly. The only thing I noticed yesterday was that the local Sainsbury’s appeared to have got rid of smaller packets of toilet rolls and had filled the shelf with the largest multi packs I have ever seen so in terms of packets there were a lot fewer packets than normal out on display and if you only wanted a 2pack it 4 pack then you had to buy 12 pack or nothing.
Whilst the shelves were full when I went in, it wouldn’t take a genius to work out that less packets would mean empty shelves later in the day.

Not too sure what they are playing at.

Went to Tesco later, actually for toilet roll and they had pretty much full shelves but of all different sizes.

Still not seen any queues or the empty shelves that are being reported.

They might not have had any smaller packets left so filled the shelves with what they did have.

Just find it odd that of all the days the only stock they did have was the super large packs. I am sure they had many smaller packs the night before just before they closed. I was in then getting kitchen towel so down the same aisle

I’ve recently done my first ever online shops. One for me Waitrose and one for friend in the wilds if Cornwall Sainsbury’s. Each could not deliver Ground coffee = ‘unavailable’ - wondering if I missed the new Covid restriction ‘coffee to be bought only in store from now on’
