How many deaths do you know of?

I don’t know anyone personally who has died of this.
I know people who have tested positive. Both are nurses and both have had really mild symptoms.
I also think me and my partner had it close to lockdown starting. There are a couple of other people I know who ‘think’ they’ve had it too.
But I know no one who has died of it and don’t know anyone who knows anyone who has died of it!

I’ve lost 4 people I know. We buried my grandmother on Thursday.

My 18 year old, my 13 year old, my husband and myself have had it but thankfully we’ve come through it.

Alderaan · 06/06/2020 14:31

My friend, aged 39. She had underlying health issues.

MaryBerrysBomberJacket · 06/06/2020 14:31
  1. Family member in their 50s, 2 former collegues 36 and 44 and an elderly gentleman in my street.

My partner has an employee who has lost their father and another employee who has both parents in hospital (in their late 50s). Employee has also tested positive and is 'very bad flu' (thir words) ill. Has been for over a fortnight.

Tiktokcringeydance · 06/06/2020 14:32

2 people I have worked with died from it (one in their 40s, one in their 50s neither in ill health, generally, altho the 50- something had angina) I know 8 other people who have had it, 2 of them were incredibly ill in hospital (both very fit and healthy with no known underlying conditions) but have since recovered, in the sense they are well enough to be home and no longer require treatment.
I suspect 2 of my family have had it (a few weeks before lockdown) but it wasnt tested or confirmed.

Figgygal · 06/06/2020 14:33

I don’t know anyone who has had it, tested positive not realising they had it or died from it

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 06/06/2020 14:33

Apparently I live in one of the worst hit towns but only know of one gentleman in my nans care home who has died. I dont even know anyone who has tested positive

jumblersale · 06/06/2020 14:34

Don't know anyone who has tested positive for it.

Oblomov20 · 06/06/2020 14:36

None

1swede · 06/06/2020 14:36

One death - man aged 40’s - some health issues.

One who spent 30 days in ICU but is just on the mend. No health issues. 50’s

Billyjoearmstrong · 06/06/2020 14:37

No one. I don’t know of anyone Who’s had the virus either (although strongly suspect I had it over xmas).

I don’t know many people though, which is why I said know of - family/the few friends I haven’t known anyone to have the virus or die thankfully.

langdale2016 · 06/06/2020 14:37

My Stepdad died of it in April.

My friend and her family had it but all seem okay now.

Billyjoearmstrong · 06/06/2020 14:37

I live in a very hard hit part of the country.

Chloemol · 06/06/2020 14:38

The brother of someone I know died from it, my best friend and her husband have had it, both tested as key workers and positive, neighbour has had it, again with test

But if you think it’s 40,000 very sad deaths out of 66 million then it may not be surprising you don’t know anyone who has died

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/06/2020 14:39

No one that I know personally, but there are 3 that I know "of" - one local lady, one is a colleague's father and one is my grandfather's BIL who I've never met. All aged over 70.

My mum has had it and recovered, she is 51.

CookieBlue · 06/06/2020 14:40

One of my work colleagues (early 60’s) passed away from it. I also know of three people who sadly all lost a grandparent. We’re in the South East.

TheExterminatingAngel · 06/06/2020 14:43

None. I don't know anyone who has had it, either. We live in the middle of a city.

MadameMinimes · 06/06/2020 14:44

I only personally know one person who has died but I work in a secondary school in London and we’ve had a lot of bereaved students and staff. Our students are around 80% BAME and the community seems to have been quite badly hit. The school my sister work in is also majority BAME and in the worst affected London Borough and has been even more badly affected. For the most part the deaths have been grandparents and great grandparents but at least 2 of our students have lost parents in the epidemic and in my sister’s school they’ve had 10 families lose parents. A couple of our staff have been in intensive care but they are now, thankfully, making a recovery.

CookPassBabtridge · 06/06/2020 14:44

Just 1 person but I only knew of him, never even met him. He was in his 80s.

AuntieMarys · 06/06/2020 14:45

Nobody at all.

Don't even know anyone who's knowingly had it.

RiftGibbon · 06/06/2020 14:47

2 and a possible third which wasn't on the CV radar at the time ( a 46 year old female friend who had had some health issues and then suddenly died quite unexpectedly).
I know of one person who has had it back in March and is still not well. Another whose child had it and they are still not well either.

NeverSurrender · 06/06/2020 14:48

I don't know any body who has died or even thinks that they've had it.

itbemay1 · 06/06/2020 14:49

Personally 3 deaths. 5 who have had symptoms but only 2 positive tests. Think all four of us have had it in the house but no tests, antibody test will be interesting.

Jenasaurus · 06/06/2020 14:49

personally I know 3 and my DD lost her colleague who worked with her in a nursery (she was 21)
