How many deaths do you know of?

I don’t know anyone personally who has died of this.
I know people who have tested positive. Both are nurses and both have had really mild symptoms.
I also think me and my partner had it close to lockdown starting. There are a couple of other people I know who ‘think’ they’ve had it too.
But I know no one who has died of it and don’t know anyone who knows anyone who has died of it!

@Granolaslice
I know of 5.
2 with no underlying health issues and 1 was early 40s,other was early 50s.
The other 3 had issues, but not respiratory linked, diabetes, heart etc.
These were all in my county. But in my immediate area, we've had no deaths.

None, I don't know anyone who knows anyone who's had it or thinks they've had it either.

2, my great aunt who lived in a sheltered block of flats, undeniably caught from one of her carers, she phoned my mother one Sunday in early March saying she had a shocking cold, one of her carers rang for an ambulance Wednesday evening, it turned up Thursday lunchtime. She died the following Monday. Second person was her friend in the downstairs flat who was also being cared for by the same team of carers. An elderly married couple died in my small town in April but I didn’t know them.

I know two - both elderly women with health issues - one in London, one in Wales. Both went into hospital for reasons other than coronavirus, but caught the virus in hospital and died.

I know of three who have died, although only one who I knew personally. I personally know 4 people who have had it to varying degrees, though none of them hospitalised.

As has been noted previously, the death rate is something like 1 for every 1,500 of the population, whereas the average person knows about 200 people well enough to speak to. So it’s not surprising that lots of people won’t personally know anybody who has died.

This is so sad. Love to everyone who has lost someone.

Suicides as a result of lockdown

TheMurk · 03/07/2020 22:33

I know 5 people who have died during lockdown.

Three were suicides.

One was a horrible freak accident. One was a massive heart attack.

All under 50 and one a teen.

And I still don’t know of one single person who has had coronavirus let alone died from it.
