How many deaths do you know of?

I don’t know anyone personally who has died of this.
I know people who have tested positive. Both are nurses and both have had really mild symptoms.
I also think me and my partner had it close to lockdown starting. There are a couple of other people I know who ‘think’ they’ve had it too.
But I know no one who has died of it and don’t know anyone who knows anyone who has died of it!

none and don't know anyone who has had it either.

frazzledasarock · 06/06/2020 15:38

One of the friends who was hospitalised and recovered is currently suffering pretty badly and has been readmitted to hospital with breathing problems.

tinseltitsandlittlegits · 06/06/2020 15:40

None and I hope it stays that way 😳

Burpalot · 06/06/2020 15:46

Two. My friends uncle (late 50s) and an acquaintance - late 20s

feelingverylazytoday · 06/06/2020 15:47

None, but I don't know very many people.

Flowers to everyone who has lost loved ones.

Sn0tnose · 06/06/2020 16:00

We’ve lost a loved one and I know two other people who have lost loved ones (although I didn’t know them).

We know several other people who have either recently tested positive or who were ill at the time when tests weren’t readily available who had all the symptoms and were really very ill. It’s close to home for us.

Norugratsatall · 06/06/2020 16:10

One. V sad.

Baaaahhhhh · 06/06/2020 16:11

None.

In our village/area, lots of bungalows, full of elderly, none.

My DM's care home, none. None of the staff have been off ill either.

I know a few people who have had it, a few young medics working in hospitals, and a few at DD's London office, but all very mildly. One friend in her 50's had it badly, but not hospitalised. She is fine now.

Toomanyapplesinthefruitbowl · 06/06/2020 16:14

I know 14 - but my husband is a priest and has been doing their funerals (all elderly and most from within our congregation). NW England

SoberCurious · 06/06/2020 16:17

One friend's Dad who I knew
One member of my cousin's husbands family
One friend of a friend
A friend's granny

So that's 4
All old except one & not sure how healthy he was.

SoberCurious · 06/06/2020 16:19

And I know lots of people who have had it. I'm in london.

sunlightflower · 06/06/2020 16:20

None. I know one person who has tested positive. I'm in London.

SwedishEdith · 06/06/2020 16:23

Friends of friends - 7 deaths. Three were still working in office-type employment (but may have caught it post-lockdown while wfh - not 100% sure).

TheMurk · 06/06/2020 16:25

I don’t know anyone either.

Neither that has died of it or officially had it.

I do know two people who have died during lockdown though, not from coronavirus.

PumpkinP · 06/06/2020 16:25

I don’t know anyone who has had it let alone died from it.

PumpkinP · 06/06/2020 16:26

I’m in London

Khione · 06/06/2020 16:26

Personally none and I am not the least bit surprised.

In the UK, and average of around 170,000 people a year die from cancer. Only one person in my immediate family has had cancer and she died in 1991 and no-one since. I know a few people who have had cancer but only 2 others that I know of personally have died from it.

So I am not at all surprised that I don't know anyone who has died of CV

bulletjournalbilly · 06/06/2020 16:28

2 people. Both caught it in a hospital. Went in for unrelated health issues not due to Covid.

RunningNinja79 · 06/06/2020 16:37

None. I dont even know anyone who's definitely had it. A few people had symptoms in the early days, but back then weren't tested as they stayed at home.

Dont know of anybody to die either.

TheMurk · 06/06/2020 16:38

@Khione interesting point... my family seems disproportionately affected by cancer in that case.

A close relative died from it in their early 20s, My grandmother, me, my mum, my DH have all had cancer, all different kinds and in two cases extremely rare kinds.

I had always heard the stat that 1 in 2 people will have cancer and gone by that yardstick.

covidmonkey · 06/06/2020 16:47

I live in Liverpool and I don't know anyone who have had it or has died. I know that my daughters classmates grandmas neighbour died of it. That's all. Somehow I can't believe that covid is that bad because no casualties.

Sparklingbrook · 06/06/2020 16:49

One. A work colleague's father. Sad

Frume · 06/06/2020 16:50

None, thankfully.

peapoppy · 06/06/2020 16:52

I don't know anyone who has died of it. I know of one person who had it and recovered (although it wasn't someone who I've ever actually met, but rather a relative of someone I know). I know of lots of people who think they might have had it, who never got tested and recovered quickly at home (but then some other people who were convinced they had it but tested negative for antibodies, so it might well have been something else entirely). I'm in London.

BarbedBloom · 06/06/2020 16:53

I know 2, one personally and one through work. I also know several who have lasting problems after having it.
