Do we think the PM Is going to allow the rest of us to hang out in our gardens now?

@hamstersarse

Every other public figure who broke the rules resigned within 24 hours. The Tories themselves dragged this out, the media have remained persistent (understandably, when comparing the situation to everyone else who has broken lockdown rules). The resultant impression now is that Dominic is being hounded by the press, the poor man. It’s now turned into a huge theatre and everyone is getting sick of it already, and so the bastard is going to get away with it.

I’m as likely to join Momentum as I am to join a Gilbert and Sullivan Society. I’ve always believed that Seumas Milne and Dominic Cummings should be locked in a room together and that room should be dropped into an abyss.

He contradicted himself one minute he is saying his wife was ill then it is him. If he dropped off shopping to his parents he must have been shopping.

I think he's coming across very well

Really? Frankly I've never heard such a contrived crock of shite in my puff. And he's a terrible speaker.

Of course if you are worried about your eyesight and driving skills you load up the family for a little test drive. By bullshitometer has gone off the scale. In my opinion he has come across terribly. A little bit of contrition would have been good .

The media have not shown themselves in the best light. They were not social distancing whilst hounding Dom in his street.

Having said that, Dom hasn't covered himself in glory either.

Dear God, this country...

This makes me cry.

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/may/25/my-dad-died-lockdown-barnard-castle-dominic-cummingss-visit-repellent-county-durham-betrayed

My dad who was 93 had been living in a care home for a few months in Barnard Castle, County Durham. On 23 March, without forewarning, a lockdown was imposed – visits from friends, family, the parish priest and even local GPs stopped. My dad found this disorientating and distressing. As he put it to one of the carers: “I don’t understand why Helen can’t come and see me: she only lives 200 yards away.”

My dad wasn’t tested for coronavirus and I’m sure loneliness and isolation contributed to his death on 24 April. We tried Zoom calls, but he couldn’t hear properly and the picture on a mobile phone was too small for him to recognise the other person. This was really hard for all of us but most of all, of course, for him. He hated loneliness and he was alone when he died five weeks after our last visit. Nothing can ever change that reality.

I don't understand how anyone can continue to support this government. After this is over, we need elections

I’m conflicted.
If the daily mail suddenly don’t like him, I’m tempted to think he has something special.....there’s a big brain in that there head.

The whole barnard castle driving 30 miles to check he was up to driving and could see properly bollocks

Couldn't be arsed to watch, but did he seriously say this? Seriously? If you think you might not be safe to drive, don't fucking drive! If you really want to check, walk around outside going Brrrm brrrm and see if you bump into anything.

Dick.

Part of me thought he made a bit of sense. Then I heard him talking about a visit to Barnard Castle, a town about 30 mins from his family farm. Why go on a test drive?
Then he spoke of being visually impaired, why did he risk driving a car?
Why didn’t he notify the police of him being scared of attack at his London home?

honestly - about the only thing I can say for certain is that all the petrol stations between London and Durham are going to have their CTvs reviewed.

Yep- that is what he said Jesus.

My question is "Mr Cummings, do you believe that the Government's strategy and message to the public on tackling the spread of coronavirus was clear enough, and communicated effectively enough, given that everyone else in the WHOLE COUNTRY thought that "Stay at Home" meant err "Stay at Home" (Do not go to a second home, if you have symptoms do not leave your home etc etc blah blah? Surely if we all misunderstood it it must have been pretty badly communicated?
