Also for his wife to ask that(we know she didn’t as he was lying) she must’ve thought his eyes were still not right. What mother would suggest a drive with their child to test that’s when you don’t have to leave for London yet and you yourself can drive?

Julz1969 · 27/05/2020 17:44

It is also against the law to drive if there is something wrong with your eyesight. He should not have did a test run to see if it was ok as he was breaking the law.

Hamster you have put it in your post -
"My wife was very worried, particularly given my eyesight seemed to have been affected by the disease"

It's there in front of..your eyes!

@hamstersarse Many thanks for this. The idea that someone whose sole job it is to craft messages for the public would make such a basic mistake is ludicrous. The idea that someone feeling a little off might want a test run before undertaking a long journey is much more believable

Yes it is ludicrous, especially as we've been told endlessly what a genius he is at putting messages out and manipulating people via social media. Turns out he really is just a ludicrous lying twat.

Cummings wife, Mary Wakefield, wrote an article describing their lockdown experience. She did not make any mention of Durham or any of the other lies details given by him so leading people to believe they were in lockdown in London.

I would like to say Thankyou to Dominic Cummings.

What the English language has needed for some time is a word to describe people whose attitude and behaviour is unacceptable. But finding a word that is not offensively obscene, racist, or gender phobic, and does not refer to someone's ethnicity, colour, sexual orientation, physical characteristics, mental health, disability or religion has until now been impossible.

But now we have such a word, it's been around for a while in Whitehall I believe but now it is in the general domain, what is more, it is short, pithy and sounds good if you shout it or mutter it.

It's what Cummings was before he ousted God.

It's spad. try it. It works.

It's a big game to him and Alexander Johnson - why use a different name?

I think "Boris" and "BoJo" and even "BJ" feed into his "Oh-I'm-a-card-me-such-a-laugh" image - I just call him "Johnson" now. Or ruder things.

His ignorance and arrogance are unbelievable! And as someone said - if this government had put half the effort into coping with the virus over the past three months as they have with protecting one liar's job over the past three days, we'd be in much better state altogether.

I was of the view that he should resign, but now I hope he keeps his job.

Why, because so many people are either hypocrites and sheep, baying for his blood. It's all pantomime and so ridiculous. Why would anyone who is obeying the rules suddenly, think Dominic Cummings is bending them so I will too?

Anyone thinking of bending or breaking the rules would be doing it anyway, whether DC was a saint or not. Around my way they have been doing so about two weeks after lockdown started. Every body else abiding by the rules will continue to so.

The media are literally tripping over themselves ignoring social distancing to ask him the same questions and get the same lictures of him outside his house.

Then to cap it all Yvette Cooper today in the same breath talking about DC and the fact that 40,000 have died. Give me strength! In other times the poor guy would be lynched by now

I am rapidly going insane with the lengths to which the media will go to whip people up into a frenzy with the reporting of COVID-19.

Do you know what, I feel like I'm back in those university parties with them again, and one is the life and soul, a pretty girl on his arm, and the other terribly intense and pitifully unattractive and I used to wonder quietly to myself where this was all going and who we would all be. And I'm still me. And they are playing at running the country.

And I'm still not convinced!

Convenient the media focus on Cummings.

Around the same time we had the highest death rate in the world.

I don't like the man but what a joke. People so concerned about one family travelling internally within the UK. Whilst our airports are wide open?? He shouldn't travel because of infection risk? When hundreds of thousands of international arrivals continue to come through our airports. No checks or quarantine. Including from hard hit countries like Brazil and Sweden. From 8 June they'll be asked to self isolate. After getting to their UK destination. Likely on public transport.

Anybody would think Cummings had engineered the whole Durham outcry. It's certainly distracted many from the far more immediately pressing issues.

So you thought he should resign but now you think he is a 'poor guy'? Bullshit.

Yvette Cooper was making a perfectly valid point about the importance of clear and consistent messaging from the Gov and how the lack of this has added to our dreadful death toll.

But I doubt you're bothered about that if you think Cummings is a 'poor guy'.

We have a situation where we have a de facto prime minister for whom no vote has ever been cast pulling the strings of the alleged post holder. In a party that obsessed about the importance of democracy in the wake of the referendum, yet clearly doesn’t know the meaning of the word. This is huge. I think the media is being pretty restrained.

I was on the garden fence Wink until his Rise Gardens bedtime story.

But basically we as an intelligent race are meant to believe that

Travelling to self isolate in case you get Covid
In case you need childcare

Is an exceptional circumstance.

In the midst of a pandemic.

And they weren't ha going out in the garden. It was a media press conference. Media are keyworkers.

They just happened to hold it outdoors and probably because we know it's safer than inside with regards transmission.

This is what it is really about. The same old trope that DC runs the country not Boris.

It would appear that you haven't got over the fact that the UK left the EU or that the Conservatives won the election and had an unassailable majority.

Back to the main issue, some people obey rules, some bend the rules and others don't care about the rules. And then there are the hypocrites, for example, Ian Blackford of the SNP, Stephen Kinnock. They too breached the rules, but are still in their jobs. No resignations requested or forthcoming.

So please, stop the hysteria and the witch hunt. You may not like him, but DC is not the devil incarnate.
Report
Alsohuman · 28/05/2020 23:00

No, he’s not the devil incarnate. He’s the real PM. I don’t give a shit about leaving the EU or who “won” the last election - bet the Tories wish they hadn’t now - and no majority is unassailable. I do care about being gaslighted and democracy going down the pan.

Stephen Kinnock didn’t make the rules, he was fined and he apologised. If Cummings had admitted he was wrong and apologised, we wouldn’t be where we are now.

Hmmm, I think you should go and have look at what is happeni g with Hungary, Poland, Russia, Venezuela, Brazil, etc. I think we have an extremely long way to go before we are anyway near those countries.
