Why can't he just answer a question straight?
And also if you have children did he just suggest you tell your employer and stay home? That is not going to go down well!

Never thought I’d yearn to see Dominic Raab or Michael Gove on screen. We have learned nothing this evening.

TJH130 · 11/05/2020 19:49

@Iwannatellyouastory I agree, it’s well known his bumbling is an act, but this is something else

Smileyoriley · 11/05/2020 19:49

A national embarrassment! Way out of his depth and once he gets diverted from his sloganeering is totally lost for words.

MarshaBradyo · 11/05/2020 19:49

I’d welcome some Sunak straightforward speaking.

Roselilly36 · 11/05/2020 19:50

I agree, painful to watch

RaskolnikovsGarret · 11/05/2020 19:50

My husband and daughters have given up. I’m the last person watching here, and I think I’m going to switch off too.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 11/05/2020 19:51

It’s pitiful, also who is picking the questions as lots of repetition, is that their approach to make sure the messages are repeated or just someone trying to pick the questions that they think will be easier to answer?

I’ve just submitted a question, wonder if it will get read out, apparently if I don’t hear in 3 days it’s not happening.

The80sweregreat · 11/05/2020 19:51

At least Michael Gove is straight forward and can speak clearly!! I'm no fan , but his more impressive compared to Boris.
It's mixed messages again : they won't have it but people will still do what they like!

BlackberryCane · 11/05/2020 19:54

He has been promoted beyond his abilities.

JamieLeeCurtains · 11/05/2020 19:54

Oh now Johnson can supply hospital recovery rates?

CherieBabySpliffUp · 11/05/2020 19:54

That 4% of the population outside of London figure to have had it is shocking. By my calculation that's over 2 million who have it but only 220 thousand people have tested positive. Surely this shows they failed badly with the testing levels.

JamieLeeCurtains · 11/05/2020 19:55

Johnson is thick as mince, really, isn't he?

Godzillasonice · 11/05/2020 19:55

So did he say people who can’t work due to childcare have to hope they have understanding employers? I keep finding myself zoning out because of all the waffle.

pussycatinboots · 11/05/2020 19:57

Jamie That's rather insulting to mince.

lyralalala · 11/05/2020 19:57

I don't think Gove or Raab would be any better.

Raab said two different things in a short space of time this morning so had to be corrected by Downing St.

Gove was responsible for the one hour exercise myth and caused confusion over the kids going between parents situation in the beginning.

How do these people have such poor knowledge of the document they put together?! If anyone else turned up at work for a major presentation and made constant major errors they'd get sacked.

mummmy2017 · 11/05/2020 19:58

The problem is one size won't fit all.
Your so busy scoring points your forgetting the aim is not to have a second round of lockdown.
If Germany and France suddenly after two weeks have many more new cases, wouldn't people the be saying the UK was right to have kept lockdown.

TJH130 · 11/05/2020 19:58

#Sunak4PM

BeUpStanding · 11/05/2020 19:59

Where are you watching this?! I can't find it anywhere online...

TJH130 · 11/05/2020 20:00

BBC News 24

MarshaBradyo · 11/05/2020 20:00

It’s probably very tough to be in the centre of it all. But they should work around this by pre-supplying questions. And practise ;

Whitty is great and can answer off the cuff. Sunak is good too.

pussycatinboots · 11/05/2020 20:00

BeUp twas on Sky and BBC1/News - you should get it on iplayer, but it's just finished.

JamieLeeCurtains · 11/05/2020 20:02

mummmy2017 that has precisely nothing to do with the discussion of Johnson's verbal incontinence

Devlesko · 11/05/2020 20:03

More Rabbit than Chas n Dave.
In fairness though, they must have classes on this at public School.

I took it that you rang your employer to see whether they are able to open with social distancing.
Basically you're on your own with the childcare problem.
Although when pigs fly some classes will be in during June.
By which time we'll have to lockdown again because of those likely to catch the virus due to being innocent victims, or those that catch it due to natural selection.
The shielded will be fine if they carry on shielding - leaving it to "The survival of the fittest"
Boris wouldn't take the stance of the rest of the UK because to him it's about money, pure and simple. By being a tory leader too, it's what people voted for.

TinySleepThief · 11/05/2020 20:03

How do these people have such poor knowledge of the document they put together?! If anyone else turned up at work for a major presentation and made constant major errors they'd get sacked.

They honestly would, it asrounds me the incompetence they regularly get away with.

Like when he did yesterday's recorded broadcast and continually mentioned the 50 page document. Any other company would have released it alongside the broadcast without a second thought, knowing people would have questions it may answer. Common sense seems severely lacking in our Government

Roussette · 11/05/2020 20:03

Can anyone who's a member of the conservative party honestly say they picked the right Leader?

When under pressure, he just cannot cut it.
Hopeless mixed messages that no one can understand
