Will we be further locked down before Easter - Yes Or No

No point in putting this in AIBU as it will be moved so unable to use the vote functionality there.

There’s loads of threads about the rights and wrongs of banning exercise or other further restrictions but th3 fact is the government could do it

I think this weekend has shown too many people are unable to do what is asked of them as they all feel their circumstances somehow exempt them and, with a 4 day weekend coming up, it’s going to be too big a risk not to apply further restrictions

So will we be further locked down before Easter - Just Yes or No

I think its likely stricter measure will come in before easter weekend to deter people from going out or visiting extended family

I think we will be out of lockdown from 14th April but will continue to practice social distancing. Cafes/restaurants/bars will start to open from 1st May.

I'm afraid I think this is hopelessly optimistic.
We are on a steeper curve currently than Italy. I think there is no way any restrictions will be lifted in 10 days time.
They won't start to open leisure facilities with the warmer weather, because this will only encourage large gatherings.
Things are being cancelled right up to September now. There's no way this is a short-term thing, I'm sorry to say.

Yes, too many breaches this weekend so further restrictions inevitable I think for Easter weekend

Where can I buy a treadmill?!

They've already sold out pretty much everywhere (except the vast, heavy, expensive ones), and I can't see that they're going to be a priority item for restocking

The Easter 4-day weekend will be too great a temptation to people. I think they will impose greater restrictions this week in order to prevent that opportunity.

Exactly this

I think the initial review date being Easter Monday will be superseded by the fact current behaviours are indicating the 4 day Easter weekend is too likely to be big a temptation for too many people

No. Because the people who break these rules still won’t listen and we don’t have the resources to enforce a harsher lockdown. They’ll save it for when they have a way of enforcing it so people don’t roll their eyes and still go out anyway.

Yes I think we will.

Also wandering if the Queen's speech tonight is going to be used as a way of buttering us up for a tougher lockdown announcement tomorrow?

Yes (sadly). I think they will have to close, and then police (as if they, and the councils, haven't got enough to do already) the parks, beaches, promenades etc etc. We are already 2 weeks into the initial 3 week lockdown suggested and, as predicted, the situation is getting worse before it gets better.

I feel our poor dog is going to be crossing his legs a bit more than usual ..

No. The government is trying to build herd immunity by stealth.

I fucking hope not. The Scottish health minster fucked off to her second home, bojo's bird is apparently at her home recovering from it despite being pregnant and in the vulnerable category and am presuming he gave it her (though that might be a big presumption) royalty can't avoid it and it's going round the leading politicians like a dose of nits in a nursery. There's no PPE for the NHS and carers, no lt enough tests and no antibody testing yet. They can't cope with the UC claims, businesses can't access these loans and they don't have an exit strategy.

Lockdown has caused 2 deaths locally to me via domestic violence already. Older and vulnerable people are already struggling, kids are struggling, the existing guidelines are still just guidelines and until they clarify and enforce those to make them actual rules and actual laws if they introduce even more wishy washy guidelines then those that are ignoring the current ones will continue to ignore new ones. Whilst the rest of the population face even more restrictions on our lives.

They haven't even closed non essential business down. Dh is a builder and although been at home for 2 weeks has been told he needs to be back after Easter as the construction industry hasn't been told to stop.

So yeah. If they say we aren't allowed out at all other than to shop or get medical supplies or go to (non essential) works then there will be riots.

I don't mind being a sheeple and following the rulez to keep the NHS safe. But the Government need to be doing what they said they would do to keep the NHS safe as well.

I hope they just close beaches and parks. If they can’t apply the current law with fines I don’t see stricter laws hurting anyone but the people who are already obeying the laws.

I saw 3 people pull up in a car, and go into a neighbour's house (about 5-6 minutes ago.) I can hear/see them in the garden, drinking beer, and laughing and joking. All 4 of them, no more than 2 feet away from each other.

I am so fucking angry that I am on the cusp of reporting my neighbour to the police.

Stupid, stupid, ignorant, selfish IDIOTS! Angry

These morons will kill us all. It's because of people like them that we had to go into fucking lockdown in the first place!

Yes. They will use evidence from this weekend to do it tomorrow or Tuesday I think. I think they’re waiting for Boris to be well enough to be the one to announce it, and it will be on the back of the Queen’s address tonight to encourage us. They absolutely need to bring it in before the Easter weekend. There’s no way it would’ve been mentioned on Marr this morning if it wasn’t going to happen. That was a calculated move to get us used to the idea. It wasn’t a throwaway comment - it’s top story on a lot of news outlets.

Im not so sure. I don’t think so. If I had a vote I’d say no.

Hancock said it was a minority and those are the pictures that are newsworthy. Pictures of empty parks aren’t. Hancocks comment might get more compliance with existing guidance.

Where I live, compliance seems to be really high but it’s not city centre, not many flats. Our supermarket was fully stocked but empty of people this afternoon, hardly any cars on the road. I live near a park and it’s empty too.

I think as long as there’s healthcare capacity and testing is increasing there will be no stricter measures. I’m not sure today but I think it was yesterday there were 1300 spare beds excluding the Nightingale.

Some councils have been dismantling outdoor gyms this weekend, because of the thoughtless and selfish tits who have continued to use them.

Some people think (apparently,) that they are so precious and special, that the rules don't apply to them! Hmm

The only other alternative is to bring the army in to re-Enforce the current rules . Go to the park but keep moving and keep your distance .

My mother told me today that her local tip is closed until September! What do they know that nobody else does?

I don’t suppose they do except that most people assume it was last for a while yet even if some restrictions are loosened and reimposed again depending on infection rates. I think it’s partly to deter traffic. On sunny Sundays like this my local tip gets more visitors than the Peak District. I also suspect some tip staff have been asked to work on kerbside collections. All guesswork on my part!!!

There is only spare capacity because all other surgeries and departments have been cancelled, even potentially life-saving ones.

No I don't think we will.

Don't think lockdown will be lifted until the end of May, but neither will be confined inside.

I'm faintly hopeful that lockdown will be relaxed for some shops (garden centres, boo k and toy shops, charity shops) before the end of May as well

Yes, sadly I think we will. I'm at a loss to know why this isn't being more closely policed and enforced, however, as it is in other countries.

My neighbours, for example, had friends round for lunch today!!! So two other couples in their house who shouldn't have been there. I'd report it if I knew how ......
