Will we be further locked down before Easter - Yes Or No

No point in putting this in AIBU as it will be moved so unable to use the vote functionality there.

There’s loads of threads about the rights and wrongs of banning exercise or other further restrictions but th3 fact is the government could do it

I think this weekend has shown too many people are unable to do what is asked of them as they all feel their circumstances somehow exempt them and, with a 4 day weekend coming up, it’s going to be too big a risk not to apply further restrictions

So will we be further locked down before Easter - Just Yes or No

He said they had no plans to.

Doesn't mean they won't make plans to.
Just means right this instant, at 5pm on Sunday 5th April 2020, no plans were in existence.
At 9am tomorrow morning though...

brokenstone · 05/04/2020 17:13

Yes.

I think a lockdown similar to France.

According to a relative living in Brittany you are only allowed to exercise up to 500m from your house and paperwork and identification are needed. If you don't have these then fines are issued, €135 for the first offence then €1000 for subsequent offences.

Only one person is allowed in the supermarket.

SurferRona · 05/04/2020 17:14

Yes.
The gvt will.
And for one, I will be glad

Wehttam · 05/04/2020 17:17

I think so OP

I don’t want to be but there’s far too many people wandering around like lost puppies

aut0replenish · 05/04/2020 17:20

He said he had no plans and travel figures still down, thanked those for sticking to rules. Talk about trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. No reason to at the moment.

mindproject · 05/04/2020 17:21

Exercise is very, very important, especially right now. It is one of the only ways to combat depression. No wonder they want to take that away from everyone. The authorities do not have our best interests at heart, I have no idea why people still believe they do.

I will ignore any advice to not exercise.

Lookabee · 05/04/2020 17:21

Yes, duh

KnightError · 05/04/2020 17:24

I don't know. I think you might get different answers depending on where you live. Where I live, it is lovely weather and I saw a small handful of people when I went for a walk late morning (in the biggest park in the city, as it's literally on my doorstep). Everyone is keeping a very long way from one another.

So based on that, I'd say there's no need at all. But if other people aren't sticking to it elsewhere, who knows.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 05/04/2020 17:24

Usually they warn us of a new restriction before going ahead. So think this is mo different

GrumpiestOldWoman · 05/04/2020 17:24

I will ignore any advice to not exercise

The advice will be to exercise indoors, you're not being expected to sit stationary in front of your tv all day FFS.

eurochick · 05/04/2020 17:25

Without an ID card system the type of rules applicable in France would be unenforceable.

RingtheBells · 05/04/2020 17:25

Probably time to stockpile more shopping, our nearest supermarket is Asda, I don’t fancy going there, luckily I have 2 online slots booked so can get some in then

Wehttam · 05/04/2020 17:25

mindproject so you would rather face a fine for ignoring possible future restrictions?

Sounds viable 🙄

WitsEnding · 05/04/2020 17:26

Not

GrumpiestOldWoman · 05/04/2020 17:26

No wonder they want to take that away from everyone. The authorities do not have our best interests at heart, I have no idea why people still believe they do.

Exercise may be good for mental health but evidently doesn't prevent paranoia Hmm

Growingboys · 05/04/2020 17:27

No. Not fair on the poorer ones who don't have a garden.

Pipandmum · 05/04/2020 17:27

Yes if people keep ignoring the advice and flock to the parks etc.

Wannabangbang · 05/04/2020 17:29

I do hope so, theres still twats flocking to beaches according to the news yesterday. These people need to be arrested imho as they are putting everyone else at risk and will make the NHS cripple under the weight of their pure selfishness. Even taking their children with them, absolute morons!!!

mindproject · 05/04/2020 17:31

I'm not paranoid, I'm realistic.

They can't stop people from leaving their homes. They can't stop everyone. We are not caged animals. If you want to be one, fine, that's your business. My business is my business, stop trying to police other people. Nazis.

Thighmageddon · 05/04/2020 17:31

Oh look, mindproject is back with more conspiracy theories 🙄

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/04/2020 17:32

I hope not. I have a young DS and live in a flat with no garden. If we can't go out for fresh air I don't know what we will do. I'm not so bothered about me but it's not fair or healthy on DS. I'm so pissed off at idiots who have to spoil it for those of us who are following guidelines.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 05/04/2020 17:32

Yes

As with every step we have had the warning we have been told a few days in advance everytime there is a change not explicitly just enough to get us thinking

Yesterday I thought maybe not or just slight adjustments but i think heading towards a more stricter lockdown.

ifonly4 · 05/04/2020 17:33

Stronger restrictions are certainly looking likely due to people not adhering to the guideline. I believe the government will be reluctant, but they'll do it.

mindproject · 05/04/2020 17:33

Oh look it's Thighmageddon, back to label anyone that doesn't parrot everything they hear on the propaganda machine a conspiracy theorist.

mindproject · 05/04/2020 17:34

ifonly4 - The government aren't reluctant, they love this control freakery. Get real.
