Lots out cyclists out, but can anyone honestly say every one of them look like they're exercising! Perhaps more evidence for for full lockdown?

The video showed a guy with his top off lying in the grass......is it really that warm in London?

I’m not far from London. It really was ‘taps aff’ weather if you are the kind of chap who finds it necessary to take their tops off when it gets above freezing.

Butterfly44 · 04/04/2020 19:47

It's law that you can only go out for one of 4 things. I've not read all the comments but that footage is clearly none of the 4. Certainly wouldn't be a busker singing like it was normal. If it was real it would be on the major news channels

Verite1 · 04/04/2020 19:49

Not read the entire thread, but I live in centralish London (zone 2) and the amount of people out on the street was incredible. None of them 2 m away. And before anyone says anything, I was putting rubbish out.

Shitsgettingcrazy · 04/04/2020 19:50

My question is why were the police not dispersing them?

Let's say this is today. Earlier in the week we had asked to stop stopping all cars. But they have powers to move people along. Who arent outside for one of the reasons.

The police need to answer why this was allowed.

Verite1 · 04/04/2020 19:51

And I heard a bloody ice cream van as well.

suk44 · 04/04/2020 19:54

I assume those suggesting people wouldn't have been taking their top off today in London will be reporting the Royal Parks Police for spreading fake news(!)

twitter.com/MPSRoyal_Parks

Unfortunately we have had several groups meeting up with bottles of wine and food hampers to enjoy a picnic. This is not a 'reasonable excuse' to be outside your house and we urge you not to do it.

We have also had people alone and in groups sunbathing in the Royal Parks. This is not a reasonable excuse to be outside of your house and we urge you not to do it.#StayHomeSaveLives

@GabsAlot what you read and what is true are two very very different things

SoapIsYourFriend · 04/04/2020 19:56

My son took the dog out and said there were more people out than normal. Hope we go into full lockdown.

TheEndIsBillNighy · 04/04/2020 19:58

I feel slightly naughty as went out to get our first takeaway since lockdown, but we drove past a small park and it was full of large groups playing football. There were so many of them in each group, I find it hard to believe they could all be in the same household. Whilst it was lovely to see people having fun, it did make me think that it’ll only mean a stricter lockdown coming in the future Confused

LaurieFairyCake · 04/04/2020 20:01

Bollocks

Everywhere I went today people were being sensible. In Greenwich Park (256 acres) there were hundreds of people all social distancing.

Here's the market and the Cutty Sark today when I walked through.

Op why do you start your post with “lots of cyclists out” when the vast majority of people in the clip are walkers or sunbathers?

NotquitewhatImeant · 04/04/2020 20:05

This isn’t real footage from today.

Covid · 04/04/2020 20:06

I can believe it. Someone near me had a massive party last night that went on until early hours of this morning.

Ironically they're the same house that come out to clap each week - why bother?

So completely disrespectful to all those Key workers that have and will continue to lose their lives.

LaurieFairyCake · 04/04/2020 20:07

In that video almost everyone is in couples or family groups - no one is mixing and they do not look close to each other

I walked for almost 3 miles and was never less than 2 metres from anyone.

Yes, there's people out for a walk and stopping for a sit down after a run or a cycle - all fine

Healthyandhappy · 04/04/2020 20:08

I thought it was cold 2day lol. Also get in garden and light the bbq why go to a park couldn't think of anything worse love my artificial grass lol

BirdandSparrow · 04/04/2020 20:09

This is a city in Spain, Seville, the capital of Andalucía. It was taken last Sunday, but even so, this area would normally be heaving, even on a Sunday. THIS is what lockdown locks like!

CeibaTree · 04/04/2020 20:10

London needs to be locked down. If the govt diverts enough police from the rest of the country it might be possible to do.
Oh ffs, have a look on the daily fail website or the bbc and you'll see that lockdown is being flouted all over the country - don't turn this into a London bashing thread, that's really boring and unimaginative.

YgritteSnow · 04/04/2020 20:10

I don't believe it's today. My friend lives in the area and posts photos as she does her daily walk. She'd have said something if she'd seen this.

Time to start fining people. And not £30.

daisypond · 04/04/2020 20:13

It’s been paddling pool weather today. Kids out in gardens. My teens were in shorts and bikini tops in the garden. I’m in London. Tomorrow is meant to be hotter.

vera99 · 04/04/2020 20:14

I sort of know there will be riots and looting soon. You can feel it in the air.

rwalker · 04/04/2020 20:16

I think the problem is London is very dense and high population with very small and lots of shared accommodation with no outside space.
it does look as some people keeping the distance but so many people live there it will be busy.
I was pissed off watching video but sat looking out of my window with 100ft garden and 4 of use in normal semi. Think I would be struggling if in crowded flat share in small flat with zero outside space .

MigginsMrs · 04/04/2020 20:16

Time to start fining people. And not £30.

Yep. The authorities should be using the enforcement measures they have

donquixotedelamancha · 04/04/2020 20:17

708 people died today. Assuming this is real then the police need to start fining the fuckwits.
