Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

@Elllicam
You probably won't be infectious on Friday but this virus wipes you out. You need your rest really.

Elllicam · 01/04/2020 20:17

@ofwarren it’s a 12 hour shift on Friday night so I have a bit more time. Plus if I collapse at work they’ll bloody have to see me.

stayathomegardener · 01/04/2020 20:18

Thanks for starting this thread @Casino218 you have been a ⭐️.

Anyone keen to take the baton and set up a new one as evenings are usually busy?

LarkDescending · 01/04/2020 20:18

@hollytom
@ofwarren

Thanks for responding. I had the naproxen prescribed for the pain yesterday - had a GP phone consultation but I was barely able to string a sentence together for the pain, and without examining me she couldn’t really make a diagnosis.

Since then the dramatically discoloured urine thing has happened (after GP closing time) so I am wondering whether it is a clue to the cause of my pain, or alternatively whether it is haematuria as a side-effect of the naproxen. I appreciate that nobody on here will be able to tell me the answer Smile

LarkDescending · 01/04/2020 20:19

*Just to add - I am not on any antibiotics.

hollytom · 01/04/2020 20:23

@LarkDescending where is the pain? Mine is at the bottom of my ribs? I’m guessing if it was kidney it would be lower. I have taken some ibuprofen which I know we are not meant to as paracetamol isn’t doing anything

LarkDescending · 01/04/2020 20:24

hollytom bottom of ribs at the back & side. Ibuprofen didn’t touch it. Naproxen has dulled it so that I can function somewhat!

Spacecadetagain · 01/04/2020 20:26

@ellicam try not to worry about the crackles. I’ve got them too but the medics weren’t worried

hollytom · 01/04/2020 20:27

@LarkDescending I’m wondering if I have got pleurisy. I really want my chest listening to but I don’t feel I can phone 111

LarkDescending · 01/04/2020 20:36

@hollytom can you get telephone advice from your GP surgery? Also, remember that 111 is there for you as it is there for us all.

Zzzexhaustedzzz · 01/04/2020 20:38

Anyone else have the feeling that their whole face is swollen - when it’s not? It’s a weird one.

Zzzexhaustedzzz · 01/04/2020 20:40

@hollytom Yes ring 111 and get talking to a doctor. If nothing else you will feel less anxious.

hollytom · 01/04/2020 20:42

I think I will ring the drs again first thing and see what they say

Lovelesslily · 01/04/2020 20:47

@LarkDescending I had those same symptoms and terrible pain last night - called 111 and was seen by out of hours - turns out it is a kidney infection so could be worth investigating? I've only had 2 doses of antibiotic so far but feeling a lot, lot better already!

Did have very tight chest earlier and also felt my chest was somehow cold inside (!?) but did some anti anxiety deep breathing exercises and happy ti say it has relaxed significantly.

Just hoping and praying its onwards and upwards now my secondary infection is under control.
Wishing everyone a restful and panic free night.

LarkDescending · 01/04/2020 21:04

Thanks @Lovelesslily. My temperature has gone up this evening (not sky-high - 37.9) having last been elevated 10 days or so ago (38.7), so it may be that there is an infection. I will follow up with the GP in the morning.

Glad to hear you are feeling better than before.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 01/04/2020 21:06

Zzzexhaustedzzz I get that with my fingers when I have a fever.

They feel swollen and massive. Each finger feels as big as my hand. I used to get it when I was little and would hold my sister's hand tight to get a more normal sensation.

Haven't felt it so far with this fever.

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 21:09

Experiencing seriously raw chest pain today and a sore throat. We should be day 22. My son has had this but also had the runs and a headache as well as being very tired. He's 15 and hasn't had much more than a sore chestnut until now. Really hoping this eases up soon for us all.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 01/04/2020 21:17

Day 3 from the fever - no fever today, but have sore throat still and a chest pain from the evening.

TheDrsWife46 · 01/04/2020 21:43

Wishing you all a much more peaceful night. Please if you are up at night, check in with others on the thread as as its the most frightening lonely time. This has been my first good day so im hoping that i may get some normal rest without gasping.

Please remember to use your oximeters, trust in their readings, ask yourself could I FaceTime a friend and talk to them. If you cant you are not an arsehole if you phone for more help. All of us that have phoned have found it reassuring in our darkest hours.

If im awake, i’ll be back... night everyone xx

mumlurker · 01/04/2020 21:54

I'm on day 19 here. Finding symptoms I had in the very first days are flaring up again now. I feel very sick at the moment - only manage to stave off the nausea lying on my back with my head propped up. Feel really dizzy and heavy headed when I stand up. The closest thing I can compare it to is labyrinthitis. Has anyone else had something like this? I was really breathless earlier and combined with a really heavy head/dizziness it felt quite scary!

pinkoneblueone · 01/04/2020 21:57

We are noticing similar at the moment. It's very uncomfortable. I think this is the final wind however. Hopefully we can get onto recovery soon! Rest up and keep your fluids up!

SchrodingersKitty · 01/04/2020 22:20

Just dropping back in to say that I have decided I am finally better - on day 22. I've managed a full working day with online meetings and classes, have finally given up isolating from my family, and actually cooked a meal tonight. I also had a very small glass of wine - the first alcohol for about a month. It did a lot to lift my mood!

Otherwise had a rather worrying day as DH has had a couple of headaches and he was very anxious that it was connected to his brain lesion (more info for anyone interested earlier in either this or previous thread). He spoke to his nurse specialist and she is arranging for another MRI to happen soon. Of course, it may be nothing to do with his brain, and may be stress, covid symptoms, lack of exercise, etc, etc. But we both got very panicked for a bit. Calmed down now - at least it will be checked out. But the wine was definitely needed, and we had a good evening in the end, the first family chat since I brought DS home from uni nearly three weeks ago.

Good to hear that some of the long-timers are feeling a bit better. It does eventually lift.

Fairygodmotherplease · 01/04/2020 22:25

Day 20. Dizziness back today.
Was feeling the best I have done all day and then had an awful few hours of feeling ill, light headed, breathless with racing heart and shaking. Knocked me for six.

Anyone been able to breathe well enough but still feel oxygen hungry?

stayathomegardener · 01/04/2020 22:26

@SchrodingersKitty I'm happy to hear you are feeling better. Thank you so much for your kind words and support on these threads.

And I wish your DH every success navigating his treatment in these difficult times.

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 22:29

@schrodingerskitty Really glad you are feeling better that's great news. I hope your DH is ok, sounds really worrying for you both, take good care of each other xx
