Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

@Cary2012 thank you for the paracetamol advice. I’ve been leaving it if I feel ok then end up feeling terrible. Going to stay on top of it more now.

Porcupineinwaiting · 30/03/2020 11:22

@Lovlesslily my experience is that they will, if you insist. But yes, try drinking more as it does sound like you are unintentionally not drinking enough. I am certainly not peeing enough for the amount of drink I'm taking. I end each evening with a pint of squash and usually that would have me needing a pee in the night, at the moment I'm not even desperate for a pee in the morning. Assume I must be sweating it out.

Cary2012 · 30/03/2020 11:24

User, I'm better, I'm certain I had it late Feb/early March. I lurk around on here hoping to reassure and tell you lovely lot what helped me.
Lily, drink water or weak squash, ditch the tea for now.

longshot · 30/03/2020 11:26

@tangledyarn I get that, I feel after a few weeks it is somewhat hard to keep up with at times. But I’m really sorry if you have felt like that on here. I hope you are slowly beginning to recover.

I’m struggling through this morning but it’s better than it has been! I’ve homeschooled my DC for 2 hours! This is a mega success. I’m now reading and resting. Planning to do things for an hour then rest for an hour as long as I need to.

Have also cancelled all work again for this week as I just know I can’t handle that yet alongside the DCs . DH is off anyway so we are in it together.

Good luck all. Flowers

kirinm · 30/03/2020 11:31

Can I ask for those who think they've had it, did you have a fever and if so for how long? My son isn't reporting aches, chest pain etc but has has a fever for 5 days and a very dry sounding cough. He is really snotty too. If it wasn't for the fever I'd probably assume it's a cold but not sure what to think.

kirinm · 30/03/2020 11:32

Oh also a severe headache.

TheDrsWife46 · 30/03/2020 11:35

@Cary2012 I know if you have recovered it may be tempting to come off of here, but please know that yours (and tangleds! And others further along) accounts mean the world when we’re less further along.

You are the tiny flickering candle of light at the end of a very dark despairing tunnel. Thankyou to every person offering their experiences and coping tips.

Is anyone else petrified that this isnt it? That i could have an antibody test and find out that im not immune. I cannot imagine that this isnt it, this is no cold or flu.

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 11:37

@Cary2012 your post is really helpful thank you.

I've just been for a walk in the wood. A short walk but I do think it helps to expand the lungs a little and inflate those alveoli. 😁

Will probably be in bed for the rest of the afternoon but I would anyway!

@longshot
Rest for 2 hours, do something very gentle for half an hour. The virus has backed off, so the rest will help your immune system get ready for the next time it surfaces. I sound like a broken record, but please I'm just trying to help.

This virus has to run it's course. It could become severe and get nasty if your immune system doesn't beat it. A healthy immune system will win, but its depleting your body of energy to do other stuff, because fighting the virus is it's priority.
You can't push through this, it isn't like a heavy cold when you slurp a lemsip, suck a soothers and stick some extra slap on and get on with it. You have to let your immune system do everything it can to beat this. So please, don't do what I did, and my colleague did, and try to push through it. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, please learn from what I didn't do!
Take care

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 11:38

@TheDrsWife46 no I'm fairly certain this is CV and my GP also thought so. Still want antibody test though.

OP posts:
Casino218 · 30/03/2020 11:40

@Kirinim I would assume it's CV right now. My DH has temp no cough . I had cough no temp. Kids get milder symptoms that we oldies.

stayathomegardener · 30/03/2020 11:40

@tangledyarn don't go!
I know exactly who you are, I'm following and listening to you. You are ahead of most so I think it's hard for those behind to know what's helpful.

And then sometimes I personally just don't feel well enough to post and when I do I seem to spam.

Cary2012 · 30/03/2020 11:42

@kirinm
I had a lower than normal temp, but it spiked at night once or twice. My colleague had a higher fever that lasted longer. Not everyone get's a fever, some people have no symptoms whatsoever.

kirinm · 30/03/2020 11:42

@casino thanks. We are assuming it is. Although neither me, DP or our toddler are showing signs despite us all living in a flat in one of the worst (for coronavirus) boroughs in London!

Porcupineinwaiting · 30/03/2020 11:44

@TheDrsWife46 rationally, I'm sure I've got it. What else would lay me up in bed for 12 days with such a weird and unusual range of symptoms. On the other hand I'm terrified that this isnt it and, after going through all this I could get ill again.

Roll on antibody testing.

TheDrsWife46 · 30/03/2020 11:45

@Casino218 i’m certain too,
I’d love to know for sure, I just have this fear of nope sorry! When we have all suffered. My brother and his family had this at the start of march, my brother had flown back and forth from european countries for work. They said at the time they were embarrassed to even consider coronavirus for fear of being labelled attention seeking, hyperchondriacs.

kirinm · 30/03/2020 11:45

@Cary2012 yes his temp has spiked at night. So odd, isn't it?! I'm hoping that I don't get it as the currently only person earning (son and DP self employed).

user34254356 · 30/03/2020 11:45

Question: is the productive cough a good thing? I had for one day and then it went away. It's back now though mucous isn't coming out as such. Is it a good idea to try to vomit it out?

user34254356 · 30/03/2020 11:47

@casino wow - walk in the woods is brilliant. I am sure the fresh air will help. My walk today has been downstairs and back up again to bed which is better than 2 days ago!

Porcupineinwaiting · 30/03/2020 11:49

@user34254356 yes if there is mucus down there it needs to come out. Try warm salt water gargles, honey and lemon to drink and steaming yourself rather than vomiting though. Phlegm in your stomach is neutralised and will just pass naturally.

confusednortherner · 30/03/2020 11:49

I feel vaguely human today but still slightly sore chest and now my legs ache. Have coughed some gunk up which I can't decide is good or bad seeing as I'm just finishing antibiotics.

Casino218 · 30/03/2020 11:50

@user34254356 no it's not a good idea to vomit. That can cause burning to oesophagus. Is the phlegm white? Yellow? Green?

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 11:54

@hopsalong I was thinking the same as today my lungs feel shot to pieces ! I will be gutted if I can possibly look forward to covid-19 on top ! I’d be very surprised if it isn’t it though

Naturallyunradiant · 30/03/2020 11:54

Hi, I will be back shortly to read the comments (trying to multitask with the dc)

Think I’m on day 8, symptoms have been mild in comparison to others, but I have a very heavy feeling in the top of my chest almost in my throat, it keeps coming and going though which is frustrating, felt fine yesterday just tired but today the feeling is back

Spacecadetagain · 30/03/2020 11:56

@Lovelesslily I think a few of us have had that bad kidney pain . Me included
