Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

Thanks guys. Glad to know I'm not alone. Yeah am taking it really easy, am very fed up of being stuck in bed now, but am a bit more accepting that it's just going to take some time to start to feel better xx

EMichel102 · 01/04/2020 18:30

@tangledyarn same here. I get tired and feel my body start to get tremors around 5ish each day and need to eat dinner by 7 or I’m so exhausted I can’t eat properly. Then I crawl into bed by 8ish as I’m totally annihilated and try to go to sleep by 10ish (make myself really really tired). Then I wake up in the am feeling hung over and heart palpitations usually which calm down by breakfast.

Zobozal · 01/04/2020 18:34

@SchrodingersKitty and @OneDayAtATime123 thank you both for your replies - I found them very reassuring in the early hours.

@TheDrsWife46 so glad you’re feeling better - have seen your messages and have been really feeling for you.

@tangledyarn @UncomfortableBadger @TiddleTaddleTat I completely agree - late afternoon onwards I go significantly downhill. Feel quite perky in the morning and that this will all go away but 4ish onwards face is flushed, chest aching and wiped out. Thought being in bed all day would help. On the plus side bought oximeter and stats are spot on. It’s the heavy chest I hate. Still no fever or cough.
Sending get well wishes to you all. This thread has been a godsend.

Standrewsschool · 01/04/2020 18:36

Yes, feel tired in late afternoon and evening. Just taken my temperature. It’s up again after two days of being normal😟.

Standrewsschool · 01/04/2020 18:38

Can I ask, what does an oximetry do? What info does it tell you?

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 18:44

@standrewsschool it tells you your oxygen saturation and pulse rate. Helpful if you are having breathing problems.

TheWooisStrong · 01/04/2020 18:44

Keep going everyone. Every day is one day closer to being fully better.

stayathomegardener · 01/04/2020 18:45

@Standrewsschool it will tell you your oxygen saturation levels. Should be above 94 I think Super useful if you feel you can't breathe or to let 111 know stats.

hollytom · 01/04/2020 18:46

Posted yesterday to say I was feeling better -that was tempting fate. Feel worse today the pain in my side is getting worse and paracetamol isn’t touching it. So demoralising when I thought I was getting better. It’s my last day of antibiotics tomorrow. It’s frustrating as haven’t had my chest listened to don’t know what to do. Fed up doesn’t even cover it

BeverlyGoldberg · 01/04/2020 18:46

De lurking to ask if I can join in please.

My GP diagnosed me over the phone on Monday after me describing symptoms. I had hoped it was tonsillitis but she said it's classic Corona.

I started on Friday night / Saturday morning (around 3am) with a terrible sore throat, dry cough and fatigue. Same on Sunday. Then on Sunday evening came the up and down fever and body aches.

Monday and Tuesday same symptoms. Very tired. Symptoms peaking around 5pm.

Today: the same but with breathlessness, body shakes, shivers - and some disturbance in vision - almost like a migraine, a C shape around the edge of my vision that dances abound and flickers like a hologram sticker.

Which day would you count as Day 1?

I am so scared. I am 40 and asthmatic. I am terrified of dying and leaving my DD (4).

Please can I have a hand hold?

Zobozal · 01/04/2020 18:46

@Standrewsschool it measures oxygen levels in the blood. I have no medical experience - I just saw a post somewhere here that someone had one and a doc had said if levels drop to a certain level to get back in touch - so being as neurotic as I am at the moment, I bought one and all good.

littleblackdress04 · 01/04/2020 18:50

@BeverlyGoldberg hope you are ok- try to stay calm even though I know it’s really hard. Your Day 1 would be saturday if that’s when you started to feel ill which puts you on day 5 - have you got painkillers you can take? I’ve been on co- codamol and paracetemol depending on how bad it’s got 😬 I’m on day 8 now

OneDayAtATime123 · 01/04/2020 18:55

@Sambucus
It is my 15th day (?), today and I went and collected my mail from downstairs and cooked and cleaned (including taking out the garbage). I do feel tired now, but breathing is becoming a lot easier. I hope it stays this way.
Wishing everyone a speedy recovery !

BeverlyGoldberg · 01/04/2020 18:56

Thank you @littleblackdress

I keep thinking I'm doing ok and then I take a step back.

My chest is quite wheezy and I'm having breathlessness on and off. I don't think I need to go to hospital. I wonder on what day that risk decreases? I'm just so scared.

My poor DD said she doesn't believed wishes come true anymore because she keeps wishing I'll stop coughing. Bless her.

Spacecadetagain · 01/04/2020 19:07

@BeverlyGoldberg virtual handhold for you

I’m struggling this evening .. the chest pain is horrific and I feel like my chest is in a vice .. have coughed up a bit of phlegm today too but it’s largely clear but sticky .. feeling worried that my lungs are filling up

TheDrsWife46 · 01/04/2020 19:08

@BeverlyGoldberg I think you’re on about day 5, for me on day 6 I really freaked out and panicked that I would die because the subtles symptoms had finished and I was headlong into strong consuming quite violent symptoms that had me frightened.

This thread helps massively because you can see peoples journies. What I would say is that I was skim reading desperate to find posters on the same “day” as me. But actually what helped what when I was writhing about shaking/cramping/shivering was reading back over the whole thread because you can see people passing through the process.

You will get through it. It is absolutely despairing when you are in the throes of it. And christ I hope I am not going to dip again. But you will come through. Lots of us at your stage panicked at our breathing and i think we’ve all called 111 in fear and desperation. Just know that if you genuinely truly cant breathe you CAN call 999.
So its more about can I talk? If Im resting am I breathing? And if the answer is yes, then keep posting to calm your anxiety and work through. Xxx

Gogoberry · 01/04/2020 19:10

This is horrible for everyone, the worry it might be THE virus and the worry it might not be and we still have that to come but I love the support on this thread. We are all doing so well to keep hanging in there. This too will pass.

I have tried salt water gargle and steamy shower for my mucus filled throat. Think it’s helped a teeny bit so thank you for the suggestions.

OneDayAtATime123 · 01/04/2020 19:13

@BeverlyGoldberg
I had some of the same symptoms like you initially, and once even contemplated going to the ER since my heart was racing very fast coupled with anxiety . Talking to my GP helped calm me down at the time. We have some challenging days ahead but we will pull thru this
Remember this that most people recover (more than 99%) as shown in the link below:-

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 19:13

@beverleygolding I'm 40 this year, have asthma and other underlying conditions, I have been quite unwell but havent been admitted to hospital, and I am recovering albeit very slowly, so try not to worry too much. I know it's hard but try and distract yourself as much as possible, anxiety makes everything feel a hundred times worse x

carlywurly · 01/04/2020 19:14

So sorry that so many of you are feeling rotten. Thanks

2 weeks on here and I'm now almost back to normal. Just a bit of fatigue and a heavy congested chest feeling if I overdo it (as in, after exercise, not just moving about)

Without a test I'll never be sure it wasn't something else though, but it's unusual for anything to hit my chest. Going to do the symptoms tracker again now.

BeverlyGoldberg · 01/04/2020 19:21

Gosh thanks so much all of you.

I feel better just being amongst company.

My heart has been racing today. I can see from my watch my heart rate is generally between 75-85 but it's been at over 100 for a while now. It could be my blue inhaler causing that.

Has anyone else had disturbed vision?

stayathomegardener · 01/04/2020 19:22

@BeverlyGoldberg order yourself an oximeter from eBay or the like. It's very reassuring.

LarkDescending · 01/04/2020 19:27

I haven’t been on these threads, but am now on Day 17 since developing cough/fever/headache/chills.

I have had severe flank pain on the right side for 2 days now. I see others on here have had similar. Have any of you developed dark, opaque reddish-brown urine? TMI but that is my exciting new development of the day. I have naproxen from the GP.

Wishing you all well.

OneDayAtATime123 · 01/04/2020 19:28

@BeverlyGoldberg
If u have an Apple Watch, you could test for AFib . My heart rate was over 130, when I called my GP. My GP told me to monitor my Afib more than the heart rate when anxious.
In my case, 5 minutes of belly breathing got it down to 88.

P.S Apple Watch is not recommended by several doctors though

Standrewsschool · 01/04/2020 19:30

Oximeter ordered!
