Continued support for those who need a few kind words to help them through the dips.

Please do not come here to ask 'but how do you know if you haven't had a test'

fogginghell, I'm around the same time and also feel a bit down and scared. I'm just waiting for a 111 clinician to ring back. I can hardly keep my eyes open...

Standrewsschool · 01/04/2020 17:02

@EMichel102 and @Gidgetgirl

I’m with you both on how to describe your inner pain. I don’t know if it’s chest pain, heartburn, or lung pain. I feel really ignorant and dumb ‘cause I can’t work out what is actually hurting!

Zzzexhaustedzzz · 01/04/2020 17:11

Day 21 here, counting from first temperature and headaches.
Feeling much better, but been on oral steroids ( first time) and anti biotics. Just an ache around kidney area and still can’t do much at all. Not going to push it this time. Rest up everyone!

Lovelesslily · 01/04/2020 17:14

@user34254356 He'd been ill for about 6 days before apparently. Not in ICU, but needed/needs oxygen.

I managed to eat a few mouthfuls of food ... progress even if slow!

user34254356 · 01/04/2020 17:15

@casino218 that's great news. Even if it's day 23, at least you are over it.

FatimaLovesBread · 01/04/2020 17:16

Can I join please?
I'm on day 25 of suspected CV and related issues. But thanks to reading a thread with a goady troll in the early hours I'm not worrying that maybe I didn't have it, and if i do catch it I'll be fucked as my lungs still aren't recovered from whatever I've got now

KatySun · 01/04/2020 17:23

The chest pain I would have described as like heart burn at the start, then when it got suddenly worse, it was like something gripping too tight and a strong pain in the middle of my chest, between my breasts, and then I think as ofwarren described it, like having swallowed crushed glass. At its worst, it felt like how I imagine a heart attack would feel (but 111 ruled this out and it goes in waves, so will be sore for a few hours then recede). I have the sore ribs people have mentioned but the is mostly in the centre of my chest, sometimes at the back. Sorry that is a long description of my chest pain.

lovelesslily best wishes for your cousin, I hope the oxygen will help him recover Flowers that must be a huge worry.

LaneBoy · 01/04/2020 17:37

I’m feeling really anxious this afternoon. Day 15 and feeling so much better (tired and weak, so just taking it easy) but I’m scared I’ll suddenly get much worse just when I think I’m ok.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 01/04/2020 17:38

fogginghell it seems to really vary beyween people and come and go so quite possible you'll improve after 5 days.

I think drinking water helps with back pain - I had really sore kidneys day 1 but upped water and I think that's helped.

TheDrsWife46 · 01/04/2020 17:39

Wow this thread has moved on so fast over a day. Off to have a look back now. Im on day 10, I had a bath earlier and it helped being to warm and submerge myself up to my throat. Whilst I still had to sit on the sofa and rest, this is the most well ive felt. Not able to manage small jobs like wiping the kitchen or having a walk but i can shuffle about and im not cramping. I have chest pains but I can manage them. Dare I say this is the first day Ive felt like me.

I also called the GP at the fact im not managing the anxiety of it all. He was utterly amazing and reassured me that whilst they are cutting face to face contact, if i need to be seen, i WILL be seen and that I am not alone. That meant everything.

Gogoberry · 01/04/2020 17:41

My throat feels so full of mucus today it’s like I’m drowning. Trying not to panic in front of DCs and my O2 levels are good. But my God I’m scared. Don’t know what to do anymore. Sad

TiddleTaddleTat · 01/04/2020 17:46

Day 21 here and feeling 90% back to normal.
Coughing is much less often. Dizziness / brain fog much reduced.
Fatigue is still around if I do too much, but I'm able to go for a short walk or do some gardening without too much trouble.
Hang in there all those having a hard time x

littleblackdress04 · 01/04/2020 17:49

@Gogoberry have you tried an expectorant cough mixture like Robitussin chesty? It thins mucus and that’s really helped me - or lemsips with guaifenesin in- I have been using both!!

justasking111 · 01/04/2020 17:51

There is a correlation between acid reflux or gerd trapped gas and palpitations if that is of any comfort. Some research about the vagus nerve being the culprit. Trapped gas another.

Porcupineinwaiting · 01/04/2020 17:52

@Gogoberry Flowers

Warm drinks (lots), steam inhalation (you can just sit in bathroom and run shower full blast to create this), warm salt water gargle. Cough out as much as you can.

user34254356 · 01/04/2020 17:59

@Gogoberry you are doing well!! Please don't panic. From what i can see when people have developed a productive cough they have started to get better

@TiddleTaddleTat that is very reassuring. What day did your fever finish, if you had it?

@TheDrsWife46 glad your GP was able to give you reassurance. I think you are past the worst now on Day 10 and hopefully things will start to look up.

user34254356 · 01/04/2020 18:00

@Porcupineinwaiting @littleblackdress04 how are you doing today?

TiddleTaddleTat · 01/04/2020 18:05

@user I think my highest temp was about 37 so not a fever; but usually I'm around 35-36 so it felt hot to me. Most of this tailed off after about 6-7 days I think.
I do still get occasional flushes of feeling hot and chest pains but much less frequent and only on exertion.

Porcupineinwaiting · 01/04/2020 18:06

Hi @user34254356 strange day today. Slept well last night but woke up with faint symptoms that have lasted most of the day but didnt get worse. Felt v emotional- first sad, then angry- and now feeling fine . Experience tells me that this will last til tomorrow morning at the latest then the next wave will hit me.

UncomfortableBadger · 01/04/2020 18:08

Have had a better day today (day 6ish) but now feel like I’m hitting the wall - despite paracetamol, the chest pains are worse, with lower back pain too and just so tired. Rubbish.

tangledyarn · 01/04/2020 18:09

Anyone further down the line (think I'm about 25/26) feel much worse late afternoon and eve. Have been out of bed and pottered around for a bit his morning, which was a relief after yesterday, slept this afternoon but feel really rubbish again now, always seem to feel much worse at this time of day.

TiddleTaddleTat · 01/04/2020 18:12

@tangled yes it's always been the pattern for me - get tired from about 2pm onwards and try and spend the latter part of the day sitting/lying down where I possibly can! Really important to do this to help recovery - you get set back if you don't rest.

littleblackdress04 · 01/04/2020 18:14

@user34254356 thankfully not as bad as yesterday - have been in bed all day but no shivers or shakes 🤞🏻 Breathing ok too 🙏🏻 Just feel poisoned - day 8 for me!

How are you?

UncomfortableBadger · 01/04/2020 18:16

@tangledyarn Yes! Like bloody clockwork, I start to feel rough at 4.30pm each day. Wonder if it’s something to do with the natural cycles of our immune system? I have no idea...

Sambucus · 01/04/2020 18:19

Ugh Day 16. Felt a bit brighter yesterday, temp slightly raised at times but not too high and better with one dose of paracetamol. Sat out of bed, had a shower, thought I’d turned the corner. Today... woke with those horrible palpitations. Temp up all day, feeling weaker and with that horrible anxiety which just seems to be part of it. I find it really reassuring when I read about those getting through this and getting better... so thank you all for taking the trouble to post, you’re keeping me sane! .
