My lungs feel like they are on fire. Anyone else

I was on here last week saying it was all an over reaction. I am one who usually tries not to panic. And that is what I was thinking. It is not good to panic people. I also thought that it was blown up in the media. Well. Now I am sick myself. So I have learned - it is actually happening. I am scared

I have been ill for three days, chest pains, - heavy breathing. And what is very scary to me - my lungs feel like they are on fire. It is a feeling that I have never felt before. I am really scared. Where I am - I am being told to self isolate. If it gets more serious - I will go in somewhere.

But I am really scared. Does anyone else feel like their lungs are on fire? Is anone else sick

So sorry coronade

Is any one else very hungry? I’ve suddenly got a raging appetite today.

KayakingOnDown · 21/03/2020 21:58

So sorry to hear that Coronade Daffodil

SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe · 21/03/2020 22:05

Coronade very sad to hear. Flowers

I am on day 9. Feeling breathless if I walk around. Flushing boiling hot at times despite taking Paracetamol. My energy levels are through the floor and my throat feels full/swollen. I woke up this morning with a neck/shoulders and headache. Still getting the metallic bitter taste but no loss of taste or smell. I am getting ingestion on and off

What I don't have is a cough. I have a slightly irritated throat which I
have the urge to clear a lot. I also have no phlegm/runny nose etc.

I feel worse today than I did yesterday.

findingschools4myboys · 21/03/2020 22:12

Quick update before I try to sleep.
Day 11 (I think)
Chest and breathlessness pretty much gone (worried about jinxing!)
But am struggling with with feeling dizzy and heavy and on and off nauseous from what I think is a sinus infection. Have sharp headache behind brows and burning sinuses that are on and off blocked and ears are so blocked. Have been trying the vertigo exercises but not worked so far.
I didn’t know until today that loss of taste and smell was a symptom but that started for me yesterday and has become progressively worse. Something I am actually happy to have as again hoping it’s the sign of the end of whatever virus I have. Hope you all sleep well!
Please all try not to worry too much. Don’t read the news just before bed! (Or at all if too much anxiety!)
If you wake up panicking (which I have done every night this week except last nigh) then instead of trying to lie it out in bed. Go to the bathroom get some fresh air by window and play medication songs on Spotify on phone if you have and concentrate on the fact you are able to get enough breath in. I have even at 2-3am done some stretches to calm me down.

Oh and another good thing today was that I was actually hungry! I have not had an appetite since mom/tue!

@coronade What sad news, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending strength Flowers

SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe · 21/03/2020 22:23

I have been self-isolating for 9 days now. If I still feel ill after 14 days am I still contagious and should I continue self-isolating?

Also is there any news yet with respect to immunity- can you catch this again?

Porcupineinwaiting · 21/03/2020 22:27

@Summers I think most if not all people must become immune otherwise the peaks wouldn't peak iyswim.

clairethewitch70 · 21/03/2020 22:28

coronade - so sorry Flowers

Roostersmum2 · 21/03/2020 22:42

I read that it's thought you do become immune for at least one season although there is no definitive proof yet

Mydogdoesntlisten · 21/03/2020 22:51

I'm very sorry to hear that coronade.

Kahlua4me · 21/03/2020 22:55

coronade Sorry for your loss. Glad your cousin was allowed to sit with her. ❤️

Casino218 what does pleurisy feel like? I have an aching feeling at the base of my back/ ribs and wondered if it was that? I can breathe okay and deeply too but it just aches, came on this evening.

GinJeanie · 22/03/2020 07:15

Bump

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 22/03/2020 07:20

Coronade so so sorry for your loss. ❤.

I woke up feeling less "ill" than yesterday only to find my dry coughs turned "productive" and chesty. Colds sometimes do that right??? Im hoping I can shake it off and it doesnt get worse.

onlinelinda · 22/03/2020 07:22

@Findingschoolsformyboys that is a really helpful post.

Your symptoms continue to sound tough but I do hope you're at the end.

I'm sorry, Coronade.

longshot · 22/03/2020 07:56

Morning all, @coronade I am really sorry for your loss.

Update from me on day 12 is that i still feel crap! My chest is no worse and I can breathe which is positive but i ache so much still, especially my legs, feel a bit like jelly. Fatigued but no other major symptoms, slight fever still at times but generally under control. Please someone tell me I am nearing the end of this virus. So fed up of it now. Really can't engage in 'normal life'!

I just read an article that someone posted on a link earlier said on average it's 14 days to recover from 'mild' illness. I would put myself in this category although it feels more than mild if that makes sense...I guess if I feel better on Tues / Wed that would be about right. It said that for moderate / severe it's 3-6 weeks recovery.

itsgettingweird · 22/03/2020 17:17

I said about having the same feeling in chest and lungs for a few weeks. Started 8th March.

Yesterday I started a temp above 38°. Just a temp. Very tired and achy and slept most of today.

But my lungs feel better?

nearlyrev · 22/03/2020 17:24

@SubordinateThatClause I used to suffer with sever health anxiety - I'm now recovered. If I can help you through this in any way please let me know!

Casino218 · 22/03/2020 17:36

Has anyone got a category of mild compared to moderate. In day 13 and chest really tight again tonight and coughing again after I had been feeling quite well yesterday.

122now · 22/03/2020 18:56

I have symptoms just like most of you. My swab results are due back tomorrow 🙏

Vintagehearts · 22/03/2020 19:00

Does it feel like when you've taken a really long drag on a cigarette (from the days I smoked?) Today I feel like I have smoked 10 fags. I haven't smoked for 13 years.

122now · 22/03/2020 19:35

I am very caught in the middle of my chest, feels like burning yes, also my left lung feels quite achy. I started with a sore throat on 5th march, that eased & I've had a slight cough on & off but nothing major. I also had terrible diarrohea around that time with cramps. I did start to feel better but then the "pulling" sensation in my lungs started last week, it has been there on & off since😔 I have been at home because I had a feeling it was CV. I'm fairly sure it is. If its negative then I almost certainly have another type of pneumonia I think.

longshot · 22/03/2020 19:57

@122now and the others there's a new thread:

stayathomegardener · 22/03/2020 20:06

@122now we are all waiting on your results!

Snaptheirfingers · 23/03/2020 13:52

Vintagehearts that's is how I felt. As if I'd spent the evening in a 1980's smoky pub, smoked and talked too much. I have no idea if it was CV. In a way I hope it was and I now have have (some) immunity. I was recently in Italy and someone I was with felt the same 'symptoms'. FYI no cough, no fever, I'm on Day 13.
