My lungs feel like they are on fire. Anyone else

I was on here last week saying it was all an over reaction. I am one who usually tries not to panic. And that is what I was thinking. It is not good to panic people. I also thought that it was blown up in the media. Well. Now I am sick myself. So I have learned - it is actually happening. I am scared

I have been ill for three days, chest pains, - heavy breathing. And what is very scary to me - my lungs feel like they are on fire. It is a feeling that I have never felt before. I am really scared. Where I am - I am being told to self isolate. If it gets more serious - I will go in somewhere.

But I am really scared. Does anyone else feel like their lungs are on fire? Is anone else sick

I too feel a little better Angel, burning lungs have eased and aches receding.

Never had the cough of fevers.

If it were not for CV I'd be pushing on with my todo list normally but restricted myself resting in case it flares up again.

tangledyarn · 21/03/2020 17:16

I'm not sure what day I'm on now..maybe just over 2 weeks..hard to say as had a sore throat for a few days first. I'm still very breathless, tight chested and a bit wheezy and mostly in bed, but I have got up for a bit today and chest pain (pleurisy apparently) is less bad than it was, not had a temp today although am quite flushed, but am breathing faster than usual so that makes sense I guess x

StormBaby · 21/03/2020 17:25

Day 8 here, no doubting now that I have it. I can barely hold my phone. Total sudden exhaustion. I've tried to do little jobs like put laundry on but they just send me straight back to bed. High temp on and off. Back to feeling like I cannot breathe because of a heavy chest.

Dickorydockwhatthe · 21/03/2020 17:31

Omg I've had this too with sore throat on and off, but mainly the tight chest and slight breathlessness. An very rare cough which I thought was more a nervous cough and all linked to anxiety. Really worried now 🙁

Katkincake · 21/03/2020 17:46

Day 9/10 for me. Bad back pain today but otherwise was feeling OK, even did a short walk on the moors but bang on cue just now I’ve gone dizzy, hot and breathless - I never get beyond 36.6c on temp and have only had sporadic coughing every few days. This is the weirdest thing I’ve suffered from even if it isn’t CV.

hopefulhalf · 21/03/2020 17:53

Storm baby I think you should seek medical attention (maybe 111 ?) you shouldn't be getting worse on day 8.

angell84 · 21/03/2020 18:19

This might help other people.

I had lungs that felt like they were on fire for four days. I felt terrible, I spoke to a friend in the UsA and she said that the first three days were the worst, so she gave me hope that I would get better.

I had a sore chest, sore throat, itchy eyes, felt like something sitting on my chest, it was sore to breathe, a strange taste, and a strange green coating on my tongue for about four more days

Today - I have started feeling better.

I send you all a hug on your recovery

That is so great to hear @stayathomegardener that makes me so happy. I am glad you are feeling well

@StormBaby
I felt at my worst on what I believe is day 8. I just saw someone commented so wanted to remind you you are not alone. If you are terribly unwell you should call 111 but if you feel you are managing your symptoms at home then that’s a good sign. Are you able to breath normally when just lying in bed?

stayathomegardener · 21/03/2020 18:35

Thanks for starting the thread Angel. It's been a bit of a lifeline.

DorsetCamping · 21/03/2020 18:36

@angell84 so pleased you are feeling better

DandyPenguin · 21/03/2020 18:41

@angell84 glad you and others feel better - sending virtual high fives to you all.

Sorry to hear you have an STI you - presuming that’s completely unrelated?! I imagine with self-isolation and social distancing, STIs will be on the decrease ...

angell84 · 21/03/2020 18:47

@dandypenguin yes it was unrelated, I had just mentioned it earlier on this thread :). That I really didn't want to go to the doctor in these time, but I had to because of an STI from forced unprotected sex - so it was an extra bad week for me

I am healing from everything, thankfully

@hopefulhalf like lots of others, I had a dip in symptoms for a few days, and now it's back with a vengeance. This is the first day I've been almost bedridden.

@findingschools4myboys thanks, hopefully if I can get through the next 24 hours I'll be ok. I'm only really struggling with breathing when I've exerted myself, it's just shallow and wheezy when I'm in bed.

My work are being utter spanners about it. Which helps

onlinelinda · 21/03/2020 18:56

Day 6 started Monday (Sunday pm really).

Started with diarrhoea here too, and tingly anus for days. Cough 15 times a day too- not hacking. My dr calls that a dry cough. My temperature is low too-not high- persistently low. Troubling do at times, but less so now. 36.5 today.

I'm alarmed about the steroids suggestion though.

My Dr said to take my strong steroid inhaler to keep treating the underlying respiratory disease I normally have. I did ask question it but was told definitely yes-it isn't oral steroid strength. I do wonder if there's an implication though. I am certainly aware that there was a study in China about it, advising against, but unsure why or what type.

Glad to hear that everyone is still coping, and comforted that some A and Es seem to be. That people are getting the meds which help them, or advice on those. Glad some are seeing light at the end of the tunnel, giving us all hope.

Lifesavesocialdistance · 21/03/2020 18:56

@littleninja1

What a small Ray of sunshine in all this gloom. Fabulous to see at least one hospital was OK! Ppe and gel.

Glad you were seen and feeling better.

GenxfeellikeaBoomer · 21/03/2020 18:57

@angell84 glad you are feeling a better. Hope you continue to recover.

Lifesavesocialdistance · 21/03/2020 18:59

We need this thread part ii

, so people can see symptoms and days.

Porcupineinwaiting · 21/03/2020 19:00

Could I please ask how you decided what was your first day? I had a sore throat for a couple of days, then diarrhoea and chills have started but no cough and no fever. I also have a strange white/green tongue. But if I do have it, what would have been my first day?

DandyPenguin · 21/03/2020 19:03

@angell84 Shock and Flowers at “forced”. I’m so sorry and I hope you’re getting emotional support as well going down the legal channels to take action. Sending you a socially distanced hug.

Dickorydockwhatthe · 21/03/2020 19:04

This is all so strange my breasts also really hurt and I just have this feeling of not feeling right. My lips and mouth are very dry too and starting to crack. I work with young children so social distancing is impossible. I've just come on so thought it was linked to that and anxiety and just generally feeling run down.

user34254356 · 21/03/2020 19:10

@Porcupineinwaiting I am also rather confused, so flirting between day 5 and 8. I don't think it's clear cut and so i prefer to count less days so i know i am finally in the clear once I get to say 8-9 when apparently symptoms get worse.

marking my place. Today i managed to go in the garden and do some clearing up but quickly felt tired. In bed now already as I can't keep my eyes open and feel feverish. Still tired and exhausted, not many aches and pains, throat is still a bit tickly especially after orange juice.

onlinelinda · 21/03/2020 19:13

@porcupine diarrhoea Sunday -Tuesday. I counted it from ringing doc Monday but looking back I stared chills Sunday, although worse Monday. So day 6 or 7, depending.

Also-confused by doctor, as she said maybe cv on Monday and to self isolate, then probably cv Thursday and to start self isolation again.

Really burning chest suddenly-what should I do about it or will it pass?

GenxfeellikeaBoomer · 21/03/2020 19:15

When you get to day 11or 12 And you have felt better for 2 days, i hope that is it 😑
