AIBU to ask how many toilet rolls you currently have in your house?!

After being accused of panic buying and enabling/encouraging panic buying on another thread I’m curious as to what’s the norm.
As toilet roll seems to have sold out everywhere or most places at least - do you have a big stock of them normally?

We currently have 18 left over from one of the big packs of 40 from Costco we bought a while ago - always do our big shopping there so also have wipes and antibac laundry in volume for the same reason!

Shockers · 15/03/2020 20:59

5 rolls, and there’s none in our 3 local supermarkets! We’re rationing it! Grin

Fluffybutter · 15/03/2020 21:00

Incase they have to isolate and can’t go out for a couple of weeks I assume .
Would love to know who started this all off

TwelveIslands · 15/03/2020 21:03
  1. An unopened pack of 24 under kitchen sink, 8 in the loo roll basket and part of one in use. This is normal. When I put the last of a pack in the bathroom, I buy a new pack. Otherwise I tend to forget and run out.
keffie12 · 15/03/2020 21:04

I have an 18 pack I bought before all this we have just opened. If you already had it before all this started then that isnt selfish. That's just buying 1 large pack which is more economical

My friend got frowned at the other day as she bought three large packs.

She does her non pershisble shopping monthly so she has it all in and just tops up weekly on milk, bread and fresh food.

She told them why she was buying three as she is mom in a family of 6 so it was to last the month

I think sometimes people dont always read posts properly op

Fixitquick · 15/03/2020 21:09

More than I thought I had 😲

Hally2020 · 15/03/2020 21:17

Shewhomustbeobeyed1 · 15/03/2020 21:22
  1. I get TP delivered every 4 months
StormBaby · 15/03/2020 21:24

We have about 20 left but we bulk buy anyway as there are so many of us, sometimes we have 9 people in the house!

selfisolate · 15/03/2020 21:27

i must admit I`m being more frugal with it! not the copious wads of last week.....

aibutohavethisusername · 15/03/2020 21:34

JuneB1979 · 15/03/2020 21:58

We’re a family of 7 and I have about 60/70 rolls, not because we stockpiled because of the coronavirus 🙄 I buy large packs of toilet rolls when they’re on offer, it’s an essential item so it’s always something we have quite a lot of
If I knew any of my friends or family were struggling to get any I would obviously pass some along to them (I would probably only charge them ten quid a roll) 😂😂😂

Chocrock · 15/03/2020 22:32

I have 3 rolls left for 3 toilets! Help! I can’t find any anywhere😲

Barney60 · 15/03/2020 22:46

we have 2 toilets and 1 toilet roll. been everywhere none tbh! am totally p*d off saw a couple with 2 trolleys in supermarket 1 full of toilet rolls, went to manager said totally unfair and should be limiting, this was last week, shrugged shoulders said takes guidelines from head office! I ended up buying cheap kitchen roll and cutting it in half with saw knife!

Dailyjunglegrind · 15/03/2020 22:49

We have 70 odd purely as our weekly delivery yesterday had a 24 pack in it. I have been buying 1 large pack each week since hand sanitizer started to disappear from the shelves early Feb..

This made me realise we have been building up to this hell position over a month now... and Boris still hasn't woken up from his Sunday jolly nap to realise the shambles and scrambling the people are facing.... why does every other nation have leadership and we have a middle aged lad chasing a skirt ffs

JaggedHedge · 15/03/2020 22:51

About 1.5

I will be on the hunt tomorrow, because my local supermarket had none on Saturday.

Nimmykins · 15/03/2020 23:08

14 and educating child not to play mummys

Emmelina · 15/03/2020 23:10

Good luck to anyone short on loo roll and actually needing to buy!
We were in our local Sainsbury’s earlier when their delivery arrived. The aisle was blocked off with trolleys and the store security guards each end so the staff could fill the shelves safely. A crowd formed each end ready to pounce when they were able, and within minutes the aisle had been picked bare again.

FlamingoAndJohn · 15/03/2020 23:14

@Chocrock. Try the milkman via Milk and More. The have 9 packs in stock and deliver to your doorstep.

JollyGiraffe12 · 15/03/2020 23:16

We have 7 this is pretty normal for our household

LeahDownTheLane · 15/03/2020 23:20

About 50, I’ve not bought any for months but stocked up a little incase we had a bad winter. Any snow here means we can’t get out of our village. DH didn’t realise and bought 24 home last week, I gave half to my grandad as his meds mean he is always on the loo and will keep the rest back incase our elderly neighbours can’t get any.

SallyLovesCheese · 15/03/2020 23:22

I ended up buying cheap kitchen roll and cutting it in half with saw knife!

Please don't put kitchen roll down the toilet! It doesn't break up like toilet paper and will block your pipes or, even worse, the pipes also connected to your neighbours!

Better to either wash afterwards or use flannels/ towels and wash them.

Shopkinsdoll · 15/03/2020 23:26

212 rolls.
Kidding! We only have three. There are some fibbers on this post! People saying they haven’t panic bought when they are sitting with 60+ rolls is rubbish. Some poor or elderly are struggling to get a few packets because some are hoarding them!! 👊👊

IdblowJonSnow · 15/03/2020 23:27

About 3. Will be on the hunt tomorrow...

simiisme · 15/03/2020 23:28
  1. One started.
