AIBU to ask how many toilet rolls you currently have in your house?!

After being accused of panic buying and enabling/encouraging panic buying on another thread I’m curious as to what’s the norm.
As toilet roll seems to have sold out everywhere or most places at least - do you have a big stock of them normally?

We currently have 18 left over from one of the big packs of 40 from Costco we bought a while ago - always do our big shopping there so also have wipes and antibac laundry in volume for the same reason!

Don't know if someone has said this but if you're using kitchen roll put in a bin do not flush it, it's much more absorbant and will expand and your loo will clog up and you won't get a plumber....

Holdencaulfieldshomeboy · 15/03/2020 19:32

We have 12 and a half left from a 24 pack of cushelle I bought over a month ago. My shopping is being delivered Thursday and I'm not ordering any in. 12 is more than enough for now.

franbrad · 15/03/2020 19:33

I have a pack of 12 - the same as I usually buy. However I have 3 left from a prev pack so have bought the new packet sooner than normal because I dont want to find I cant get them when I need them.

NanSlayer · 15/03/2020 19:36

40/50 I normally buy everything in bulk, cheaper in the long run normally keep 6 /12 months supply.

Plus I really don't like shopping every weekend.

SiliconHeaven · 15/03/2020 19:38

I have about 150. I may put some on eBay.
Back story: had a £35 groupon credit refund for a groupon that I had to cancel. I bought 2 packs of 90 toilet rolls with it back in October so I used it and didn’t forget about it

Reading this has made me realise that we get through way too much loo roll in our household! I'm putting that down to having a husband with IBS. There is no way a pack of 4 would last us (him) a week!

We probably have about 20-30 in currently and tend to buy in packs of 24 if possible. This will last us around a month and we usually buy them in our once a month big shop.

AliasGrape · 15/03/2020 19:46
  1. Had 4 left from usual packet of 18 (lasts us a month or so) and so bought another packet of 18 when I saw them. One of the original 4 just finished today, so 21.

Loads of hand wash as the in laws randomly gifted us 6 bottles (and we already had our usual 2 for kitchen and bathroom) long before this ever started, maybe they’re psychic. I’m going to take some intothe school I’m working though as we frequently run out of soap for the kids Hmm There’s also been no tissues in school the last week so I’ve bought a few boxes.

Everydayishistorytomorrow · 15/03/2020 19:47

We have 6 rolls from our usual 9 pack. We usually buy more when down to 2 or 1 roll. Nothing has changed in our house.

Chochaw · 15/03/2020 19:51

I have 130. I always buy in bult though so this is not unusual for me.

Shirls22 · 15/03/2020 19:53

I get a regular order every 3 months from an environmentally friendly company which aims to reduce plastic use so I’ve got 48 as I ve just had a delivery

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 15/03/2020 19:54

130?

Toomuchtrouble4me · 15/03/2020 19:54

Three on the holders, 2loose and new pack of 30 from wholesaler.

Dizraeli · 15/03/2020 20:00

50 but we always have that many because we have lodgers.

Vodkaskirts · 15/03/2020 20:07

Really I've been buying it specifically to clean toilet thought it was easier to flush instead of putting Anti bac wipes in the bin.

ThreeBlindNice · 15/03/2020 20:09

3 left and just bought a packet of 4

bossybloss · 15/03/2020 20:11

About 40, some of which I am giving to elderly relatives.

homemadecommunistrussia · 15/03/2020 20:13

10 for 4 of us.

Forgottenwhatsleepis · 15/03/2020 20:18

I've got 8 left out of a 24 pack I bought a week ago, but we're a family of 7, and that is our usual buy

nannykatherine · 15/03/2020 20:22

i have three loo rolls
and a small bottle of antibacterial
3 bars of soap
1 bar of solid shampoo 1 bar of solid conditioner
1 bottle of milk
1 box of tea bags
1 loaf of bread

Thetigeronthewobbelboard · 15/03/2020 20:25

We have about 7 rolls left. I’m worried as I’m pregnant and I seem to be going through an awful lot right now! 🤦‍♀️ I expect this will last us until the middle or end of next week. I would have bought some more but I couldn’t as there weren’t any!

selfisolate · 15/03/2020 20:30

8 in the cupboard? thinking of getting some dettol/ napisan and ripping up some cloths (very old t shirts that will be cleaning cloths anyway!). Then if the bog roll shortage bites it wont matter. Id use up the antibac laundry liquid in time anyway.....

selfisolate · 15/03/2020 20:31

some very eco households do this anyway.

Namevhanger20202010 · 15/03/2020 20:35

We’ve got a couple of hundred 🙈😂
We buy in bulk every 4/5 months, last delivery came in January, we are still working our way through them!

SpeedofaSloth · 15/03/2020 20:36
  1. We usually buy big packs which last a few weeks, so this is normal for some weeks. We usually let it run down to the last 2 or 3 before replacing them.
Pansypath · 15/03/2020 20:48

I have just under 100. This is because I have 48 (2x24) stashed away still from my hard brexit stash and then a fresh pack of 24 in each of our two bathrooms that I bought at the beginning of Feb (so not responsible for current run on loo roll as have not bought any since then!) that we have just opened after finished the packs before those. This is normal for me.
