AIBU to ask how many toilet rolls you currently have in your house?!

After being accused of panic buying and enabling/encouraging panic buying on another thread I’m curious as to what’s the norm.
As toilet roll seems to have sold out everywhere or most places at least - do you have a big stock of them normally?

We currently have 18 left over from one of the big packs of 40 from Costco we bought a while ago - always do our big shopping there so also have wipes and antibac laundry in volume for the same reason!

Maybe 30 rolls, I always buy a 24 pack every month anyway and luckily had picked one up before the madness hit.

I have cleaning products and soap already so assuming the country gets a grip soon I "should" be fine.

OkMaybeNot · 14/03/2020 20:34

We got an amazing bulk deal about a month ago before all this started.

Yourownpersonaljesus · 14/03/2020 21:01

Can someone explain the reason they bought loads of toilet rolls because of Brexit. Lots of you have said it's the reason you have so many.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 14/03/2020 21:08

Just ways bought lots of the essentials in bulk. Had parents who lived through the depression, followed by Ww2 and rationing.

Plus I get ill from time to time and can’t make it to the shops when I am.

For us, it’s just normal to buy enough of the essentials to last a good while.

Butterwhy · 14/03/2020 21:08

Because Brexit will disrupt the supply chain. I can't wait until the day we are all moaning and fearful of Brexit again.

Mintyraindrop · 14/03/2020 21:13

I've got 144 to be precise, I counted earlier. Do I win?
I have 6 family members plus I'm a childminder with 14 kiddies over the course of the week. If I can't provide them with toilet paper to wipe their butts, I'd need to ask their parents to provide it and I don't think that would go down well. I haven't been panic buying but stocking up gradually over the last few weeks.

OneForMeToo · 14/03/2020 21:14

We have a lot and I would be called a panic buyer if you saw however I just pick up a 24 pack every week when I do a top up shop and have done for a long time so I haven’t added to the shortage. My children went though stages of nearly using a whole toll per poo rather than checking the paper and sometimes still do 🤦🏻‍♀️

Isleepinahedgefund · 14/03/2020 21:15

sleepingpup me too! I am genuinely interested in how much everyone has and why. I get laughed at for my bulk buying toilet roll habits and I wanted to know where I ranked in the toilet roll stakes!

Fruitbatdancer · 14/03/2020 21:21
  1. Should last us a month. May have to encourage son to use a few sheets not half a roll! Was low on pasta and tinned toms. DH amazon primed some today and they’ll be here tomorrow. No shortage there.
Kaykay066 · 14/03/2020 21:22

Family of 5/6 if boyfriend here we have 2 left

Redcrayons · 14/03/2020 21:22

20
I always buy a 24 pack and was running low so picked one up last Friday. Just as well as we'd be down to kitchen roll now, of which I have 4.

Im a stockpiler and I've always got spares of the basics as I stock up when they're on offer.

I'm assuming it will all be back to normalish at some point next week. Surely everyone must have plenty now.

Simba999 · 14/03/2020 21:28

I Have around 60, i usually buy the 36 packs, I normall wait til we're running out before buying more, but coincidentally we just happened to be doing shopping and thought we'll just buy it seen as we are here, and this was well before the panic buying, but am so glad we did!! Since the panic buying, I went out and purchased more just in case as most of the supermarkets had sold out

contentedsoul · 14/03/2020 21:34

We were down to two earlier
One in each toilet
Did the weekly shop... no toilet rolls
Tried 6 different shops...none
Had to buy kitchen roll and cut in half.

Fucking imbeciles

Pixxie7 · 14/03/2020 21:49

Just had shop delivered from Tesco’s no loo roll, no tins of anything it’s ridiculous.

Esptea · 14/03/2020 21:56

70 but I haven't bought any in about 3 months. We buy in bulk from Amazon.

NotQuiteUsual · 14/03/2020 21:59

18 rolls. Two 9 packs, one of which I opened yesterday. They were on offer!

MorganKitten · 14/03/2020 22:00

We have a Costco card so do a monthly buy. I’m not planning any panic buying.

LaBelleSauvage · 14/03/2020 22:02

A 16 pack, but we have 5 loos so it's easier to keep a reasonable central stash

LaBelleSauvage · 14/03/2020 22:05

I hate the panic buying nonsense. I'm in a lot of pain 9 months pregnant with SPD and DH keeps having to go to 4 or 5 different shops before he can get me any paracetamol.
Also peeing every 20 mins not great for loo roll supply...

TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead · 14/03/2020 22:06

Love how people on this thread have hundreds of loo rolls, but it is all for special and good reasons and nobody has come out as a panic buyer Grin

I have about 8, that should last the 4 of us a week or 2 and after that we’ll see

MondeoFan · 14/03/2020 22:06

I have about 10 bought 2x 4 packs and have 2 left from a 9 pack.
We usually use 2-3 toilet rolls per week so I have enough to last 3-4 weeks

Waveysnail · 14/03/2020 22:07

Did my usual two monthly Costco shop so brought usual two large packs

bridgetreilly · 14/03/2020 22:07

5.5 Which should last a few weeks.

If you're using kitchen roll, please remember not to flush it. It's not designed for sewers.

copperoliver · 14/03/2020 22:12

About 27. X

isseywith4vampirecats · 14/03/2020 22:14

28 rolls four left from last months pack and new pack of 24 which is what I normally buy a month
