AIBU to ask how many toilet rolls you currently have in your house?!

After being accused of panic buying and enabling/encouraging panic buying on another thread I’m curious as to what’s the norm.
As toilet roll seems to have sold out everywhere or most places at least - do you have a big stock of them normally?

We currently have 18 left over from one of the big packs of 40 from Costco we bought a while ago - always do our big shopping there so also have wipes and antibac laundry in volume for the same reason!

Around 50. We buy ours from farm foods in bulk and did it about 10 days ago before all this kicked off as we were running low. I will share with my parents/neighbours if they need some.

I also have tonnes of pasta because I always add a pack to my weekly shopping.

This made me laugh

About 60.
I think we have 3 packs of 18, and a few left from an open pack.
Bought a few weeks ago before the panic buying started. DH thought I was crazy, he's not saying that now though.
Also bought lots of soap, hand wash, and sanitiser when it was freely available.

sleepingpup · 14/03/2020 09:06

I have 10,000,000: versus "I'm using my hand"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

5 big sporty boys and me. ( it would not be pretty with no loo roll)

9 loo rolls in the bathroom and 28 pack in the attic in a that I "panic bought" about a month ago when it was readily available.

Should be fine.

( I AM NOT wiping my bum in the shower or on leaves or whatever- that would be the last straw. And my boys? they probably do already)

Battenburg1978 · 14/03/2020 09:09

We have 27, but these are asda basics loo rolls so not as much actual loo roll as you might think. Not stockpiled, I usually order a monthly supply once per month and we go through a lot of loo roll! If we all end up at home we'll use more! I haven't prepped / stockpiled at all and it's been quite concerning seeing the empty shelves in all the supermarkets around work when I've popped to try to pick up things not available in my usual online shop.

CoffeeRunner · 14/03/2020 09:09

A 9 pack upstairs & a 9 pack downstairs.

Same as usual 🤷🏻‍♀️.

If anyone's looking for paracetamol, check your local chemist rather than supermarkets. Our local Lloyd's pharmacy had paracetamol (39p) and ibuprofen for 40p. Also had carex hand wash and bar soap.

TheGirlFromStoryville · 14/03/2020 09:13

Gumbo - 😂😂😂

FizzAfterSix · 14/03/2020 09:13

About 5 and a large roll of recycled kitchen roll.
I don’t understand this obsession with loo roll.
If supermarkets run out its worth going to health food shops and buying recycled.

MamaDane · 14/03/2020 09:14

5, should last us a little over a week or so

Fameinaframe · 14/03/2020 09:14

Have not done my shop yet so 2.

yikesanotherbooboo · 14/03/2020 09:17

About 12.
I buy 3 packets of 9 every 6 or 8 weeks. 3 of us here ( 2 with India! )

adaline · 14/03/2020 09:19

I think about 15! Though my neighbour recently received a delivery of 300 the Waitrose driver told me.

Dick.

Why the bloody hell are Waitrose allowing people to buy so many?

amaryl · 14/03/2020 09:19

I have 4 toilets
There's usually 3/4 in a stacker thing. So about 12/16
I noticed last week on my regular order they were swapped for a different brand, I wasn't happy ! At least I got them though.

DonkeyKong2019 · 14/03/2020 09:21

I have about 30 but I buy a 24 pack and bought one at the weekend.

ChilliMayo · 14/03/2020 09:21

I have 56.
I have a rolling subscription for 45 rolls to be delivered every 2 months. They arrived on Weds.
However, I had been away for a couple of weeks in the preceding few months so had a good few left over.
All being well,I expect another 45 early in May.
Kitchen roll comes on alternate months, 24 rolls due in April, then again in June.
I just don't like these items taking up all the room in the trolley, plus it's much cheaper, works out about 30p a roll (and yes, it's all quilted etc).

Thefaceofboe · 14/03/2020 09:22

We have 5 left

Cordial11 · 14/03/2020 09:22

I always buy 28 packs as I have two toilets and ‘decorative’ baskets I like to look fullish! It’s come in handy now. 13 left today!

madcatladyforever · 14/03/2020 09:23

No loo rolls for 20 miles around so Ive been forced to buy a pack of 6 industrial giant rolls from Nisbets online nothing else online that will probably last me for the next 20 years and God knows what I'm going to use for a toilet roll holder. A piece of rope probably. I did consider using a bottle of water but I just can't do the poo/hand thing.

SleepingStandingUp · 14/03/2020 09:24

About 22. Bright a new pack as mine were running low and there was a deal on buying two 9 packs.

The bigger issue for me is baby food. We go through a tub in 2.5 days so a 2 buy limit means buying new milk ever 4-5 days which is fine till there's none in the shop like yesterday or were on lock down because one of the kids throws a temperature of 38!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 14/03/2020 09:25

I've got about 20. I usually buy 2 packs of 9 rolls because they are often on offer in Tesco (only 50p saved but still) and I usually wait until the last pack is half gone. I ended up buying my two packs at the start of the week though when I nnnbn had most of 9 pack left, because Tesco by me was looking a bit empty in the loo roll aisle and has stopped the promotion. I won't buy any more though until the second pack is in use.

DonnaDarko · 14/03/2020 09:27

I usually buy big packs when we're running low as there are 4 of us here but everyone fucking bought them so I ended up with two little packs of 4.

They will not last long. DP is doing overtime this morning and I've asked him to check the big supermarket on his way back

TwoZeroTwoZero · 14/03/2020 09:27
  1. We buy the 12 packs from home bargains and they last us a few weeks. We have a bottle of bleach spray that's only just been opened. That lasts us ages too. We have 3 part used pump bottles of hand gel and 10 or so handbag sized bottles of hand gel. Dh brought a load of samples home from work just before Christmas and we just stashed them in a drawer because we rarely use them.
TheGoogleMum · 14/03/2020 09:30

It's normal for us to buy a large pack month's supply. We had a lot in so didn't bother to get more yet this month but now we're getting down to about 5 rolls so will probably get another big pack soon if there's any left:s
