Conflict in the Middle East

Gaza Flotilla - genuine peace activists or Hamas puppets?

TicklishMauveSquid · 27/09/2025 22:36

It has been reported that these activists have rejected the Italian government and the Vatican's proposal to unload any aid they are carrying in Cyprus, to be transferred peacefully to Gaza.

They seem intent on sailing into a legal blockade in a warzone as a direct provocation to Israel who will be forced to take control of 50 boats and the people on them.

They have made lots of unproven allegations that Israel has attacked their boats which may well be to precursor violent resistance in 'self defence'.

They could be carrying anything, including weapons.

There is quite compelling evidence of Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood connections to this so called humanitarian flotilla, which could be considered perverse in the extreme seeing as Hamas has caused the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Hundreds of Israeli boat owners are being encouraged to counter protest in Navy approved zones (without interfering) as a presence 'a blue and white wall for the hostages'.

What do we think the outcome of this will be with Italian and Spanish Navy vessels in the mix?

This is quite a different situation than the ONE boat in the earlier failed attempt to breach the blockade this year where the 'activists' were peacefully appeased with sandwiches and sent on their way (after refusing to watch footage of Oct 7th).

A campaign of so-called “peaceful solidarity” reveals disturbing ties to designated terrorist organizations.

Reading this and then the post further up where an 'activist ' denies women were raped on October 7th, but were 'treated well' by Hamas disgust me. How were Shani Louk or Mrs Bibas treated well.

Those performative 'activists' are sick, how dare they deny the crimes of October 7th, they cannot even be bothered to watch details to check their lack if knowledge. They are pathetic. If they were genuine they would allow the aid to be taken and passed on as authorities have suggested.

Agreed.

I'm glad the offer was made by Italy anyway (and offered again yesterday) because at least it shines a light on the fact these Gaza futillas are not about delivering humanitarian aid.

Which was obvious from the first, smaller attempt but some people are naïve enough to think it was just about aid.

Israel didn't want her there but took her out of International waters against her will and brought her there. Sounds legit. Poor Israel, they had no choice, forced to break the law left right and centre 😭

First Hamas force them to kill 20000 children, then they are forced to starve 2 million people now we are told they were forced by Greta no less to take her out of International waters and bring her to Israel where awful Greta wouldn't even watch their compilation tape to thank them for doing her bidding.

I'm curious as to what you think Israel should do about the Flutilla? Just let them sail on into Gaza to distribute their symbolic aid? Or something else?

Everexpanding · 29/09/2025 10:17

Should people do nothing and just let Israel carry on is that what you are suggesting ?

A sentence in the UN report regarding Israel's genocide in Gaza.

"Israeli security forces shot at & killed civilians, including children who were holding makeshift white flags. Some children, including toddlers, were shot in the head by snipers."

Some credulous, others deceitful.

It's not a peaceful agenda they're pursuing and if they land by Gaza I'm sure what they return with will be as closely scrutinised as what they deliver.

Everexpanding · 29/09/2025 10:52

to the posters opposing boycotts or flotillas what do you suggest people who care do to prevent genocide and the forced starvation of a civilian population?
or should this be allowed to become the new norm in warfare because Israel??
Any suggestions welcome

stomachamelon · 29/09/2025 10:00

@soulofmysoulwhat ideally would you like to happen now? Regarding the flotilla?

Ideally they break the siege and don’t get illegally captured. More than anything to bring that hope and support to the citizen’s who are trapped in an apocalyptic hell. I know first hand their suffering and it is unimaginable that they have lived this for nearly 2 years. My hope and prayers are with all the people on board the flotilla as well as the Palestinians ❤️

Trust me the aid would likely not reach Gaza. Very little is getting in and the majority of it is held up at the Gaza border and refused entry. Thousands of aid trucks have been denied or it’s taken so long that the aid is spoiled. This is first hand knowledge I have, as somebody who has projects set up in Gaza. This is of no fault of the charities but the evil regime that controls it. By breaking the siege they are delivering essential items like formula which are scarce and not only that but hope and support which is needed after nearly two years of being caged in hell.

End their illegal naval blockade?

stomachamelon · 29/09/2025 11:38

@soulofmysoulrealistically that’s not going to happen though is it? How would you decide how the very limited formula gets to where it needs to be exactly? And if there is a stampede and people are killed who would be at fault? What happens when it’s all gone and people are desperate? They want to leave?

Aid is getting through and millions are being fed. We know this is true. I agree it’s not the way the UN etc want it done but it’s not just ‘ the evil regime’. I have seen what happens to trucks going through - ones recently hijacked at the Allenby crossing- sept 18th.

Things need to change but this is not the way. Hamas continue to fire rockets, continue to send information about loss of hostages or extracting hostages, they play fast and furious as they have done since they took over. This all could have been so different. And if you have all that experience in Gaza you know what I am saying is right. They destroyed everything left to wage war against Israel.

stomachamelon · 29/09/2025 11:39

@dairydebrisperhaps now the state has been ‘recognised’ they should allow them to sail in and leave their safety to Hamas?

But they won't break the siege which they already know hence the act is performative.

So you think they should just let anyone through including Greta and friends?

Do you think Greta actually wants to deliver the aid personally into peoples hands?

Absolutely idiotic.

soulofmysoul · 29/09/2025 11:55

@stomachamelonthe stampedes are because they are starving. They have been displaced sometimes 10-12 times, packing up their meagre belongings with nowhere to go. They are exhausted and starving, if they had adequate food then they wouldn’t stampede which is common sense. Civilians haven’t had meat in Gaza since February, people dying of starvation so how are they adequately fed, you are telling a pack of mistruths here, I support 1000’s of families and I’m in contact daily so I know the real truth.

you seem to forget that the people of Gaza and the West Bank have been mistreated for decades. Killed, controlled and you only have to look at the rise in Israeli settlements in the West Bank to see the truth, they didn’t play a part in 7/7 so why the treatment of them? They can’t even use buses or go to certain shops. They go through checkpoints that are one way and if they need to return they have to go miles to go back. There has been brutality and killing and segregation of the Palestinians for years by an evil twisted occupation. I would also like to add there are thousands of Palestinian hostages held and beaten and many die in captivity without charge including young children and we have all seen the proof of the rapes. Doctors and journalists have faired the worst, including a wonderful doctor very dear to me that was involved in humanitarian projects in Gaza, they bombed his house and killed not only him but his wife, 5 young children and his parents but you like many don’t see the Palestinians have equal people. Go and educate yourself including what they do to Christian’s. Watch Louis Theroux in the West Bank. Most orthodox Jewish people agree, hence why I have love and respect for them and their faith. it’s the Zionists that are the problem and the indoctrination of the Israelis to believe they are superior.

i think you are missing the point. Greta won’t get through, nobody expects this. It is an act of protest against the blockade.

They should ensure that unrestricted food aid and medical supplies are allowed into Gaza.

This is a very reasonable request.

An old colleague of mine is on one of them actually. She’s definitely not a Hamas supporter. She has a background in humanitarian aid , as I do myself. Although I did my work safely from an office! She has often worked in dangerous conditions.

I don’t understand the venom here. It’s a non violent action calling for aid. Non violent movements for peace are very effective at creating positive change in our world.

All I see. You love and respect the Jewish people who agree with you but not the ones who think Israel has a right to exist where it is and who have been indoctrinated into thinking they are superior.

And the Palestinians have had no agency in the situation they are now in, and they've done absolutely nothing to deserve the way they've been treated. They've just been oppressed for no reason by those mean old Jews oops Zionists.

Did I get that right?

stomachamelon · 29/09/2025 12:07

@soulofmysoul we clearly won’t see eye to eye on some things but I do agree the situation in the West Bank is dire and I am not supporter of the settlements.

I do think responsibility for the Gaza situation lies at more than one door though. And asking me to educate myself? Orthodox Jews will agree with you for very specific reasons. Religion based. No messiah no land of Israel. Completely alters ‘Israel’ and its purpose.

I am well aware of all that due to having family that live there.

I agree Israel should allow aid in unrestricted.

The venom on here is reserved for Hamas and those who support them.

The jokes are for the Futilla.

It's an utterly pointless act of self aggrandization.

Israel are not going to do anything different because of this.

Anyone with any public profile should be using their platform to criticize Hamas in the strongest terms and call for them to surrender.

I loved what Greta did on climate change, but on this she's ridiculous.

Of course it's not hard to understand what people think.

What is hard to understand is why people think Greta and co doing this will make the smallest bit of difference. While Israel are worried about Hamas bringing weapons in by sea to kill their citizens, they will not stop the blockade.
