I've only skim read the link, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of Hamas at all... why is that?

What a callous response to a horrifying statistic.

Perhaps it’s because it’s not Hamas targeting the children- it’s the airstrikes, shelling, drones, IDF snipers and blockades hitting them.

We've moved on from the classroom analogy, as well.

Hours in a day = 24
Hours in a week = 168
Hours in a month = 730

Hours in 23 months = 16790.

So not a child every hour at 20,000 at all.

That puts their hours just over 3K out. Which actually makes it 19 months. Which is four months different - quite a lot. That's what...17% off their guess? That's quite a lot.

They can't even get their headline right which rather makes it hard to really trust anything they say. If you are going to make sensationalist headlines, aimed I am sure at generating public condemnation, you should try and get the facts right.

They'd be better off halting the sensationalist headlines and printing accurate facts as they might find people are more receptive to their pleas. Over-exaggerating does no one any favours.

Some Don't want accurate facts sadly, just one sided, wide eyed sensationalism.

I agree that you shouldn’t waste energy responding to people who are ok with this genocide. Thanks OP

Soontobe60 · 10/09/2025 20:17

38 Israeli children were killed by Hamas on 7/10. The attacks began at around 6.30am so those children were murdered over around a 12 hour period - that’s around 3 children an hour.
Do those children not matter because they were Jewish?

Thank you.

The mocking and minimising is disgusting- and honestly just makes Israel look even worse than it already does.

You are right. They have killed more than one child every hour.

Which is actually the headline:-

GAZA: 20,000 CHILDREN KILLED IN 23 MONTHS OF WAR - MORE THAN ONE CHILD KILLED EVERY HOUR

I’m not sure why you think this is a “gotcha” though. There was no over exaggeration. There are 3210 children dead who wouldn’t be if it was “only” one child killed per hour.

I wish that they were all still alive. Along with the other 16,790 who also died.

I figured out the same and was trying to get my head around why it was a “gotcha” that it was actually more children who had been killed than stated? Perhaps those 3210 children were killed/only verified later. It’ll be even more by this time tomorrow. Will that be a gotcha?

Absolutely disgusting, unfortunately they're storing up a backlash/pushback that will be extremely harsh in the future.

DonaldTrumpsTwitterFeed · 10/09/2025 20:34

It’s that the maths they provided wasn’t mathing and if they can’t even get basic maths, that I would expect my ten year old to get right, correct it’s hard to trust anything else.

It’s nothing about ‘gotcha.’

It’s pointing out if you want people’s attention, getting basic facts wrong (either way - higher or lower) in your headline is pretty damn incompetent.

Dangermoos · 10/09/2025 20:35

Didntask · 10/09/2025 20:30

Their murders don't need to be used as a statistic. The second most horrific genocide of the Jewish is just as devestating as the first, no matter how much minimising is attempted to be done ❤️

Probably my Vanish stain quip. When gimmicks are used to garner sympathy, I tend to reply in kind.

lrjh · 10/09/2025 20:39

When I read threads like this, it’s easier to understand why wars happen.

arguing over whether it was one child or more than one killed per hour. OP, I agree with you entirely, what a horrific statistic.

User37482 · 10/09/2025 20:39

I think it doesn’t do any good to make stuff up. The truth is awful enough, every childs death is a tragedy, whether they are Palestinian or Israeli.

But I wouldn’t believe an organisation which put out so a blatant lie.
