As well as dangerous? He wants to help the Israelis in their ethnic cleansing of Gaza and own it so he can turn it into a holiday destination with the Palestinians packed off somewhere.

His greed really knows no bounds.

YABU - it’s a great idea, can’t wait to go to the new ‘riviera’!

YANBU - his threats to other countries and dangerous for the world.

He's a lunatic and a moron.

Thatissimplyuntrue · 05/02/2025 08:20

It’s very clear that he has a serious personality disorder to me. I still feel
baffled that some people can’t see this and even voted for him.

Loveumagenta · 05/02/2025 08:20

17% of people think that taking another nations land, throwing them out and making money out of it as a holiday destination is okay? Fucking hell. Maybe we should let him take Greenland too, force Canada to become part of the USA. He likes Scotland, perhaps that could become a new theme Park/golf resort and the Scots relocated to England…

I'm remembering all those defenders laughing and saying "he didn't do anything that bad in his first term. What are you worried about?"

It really doesn't seem say outrageous to think he might change the rules of 2 terms of presidency now.

What's to stop him?

It's gone up to 21% now.

Unbelievable!

Boredlass · 05/02/2025 08:22

All these Trump posts are unhinged. Is this going to be constant for the next four years? I have no idea what’s happening with him as he’s easy to ignore but the world didn’t end when he was president previously so why the panic now? Stop reading about him, it’ll help your mental health

Nowaysunshine · 05/02/2025 08:22

Remembering a tv programme some years back when he was developing 'his' golf club in Scotland - the terrible things he put the local people through to bulldoze his plans were shocking - guy definitely an unhinged bully.

Llttledrummergirl · 05/02/2025 08:22

It's hardly a new realisation, the signs have been there for many, many years.

TickingAlongNicely · 05/02/2025 08:23

He wasn't this mad last time... Last time all he did was make Boris Johnson look like a competent government leader.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/02/2025 08:29

It's about two weeks since he was inaugurated and in that time he's set about dismantling a huge chunk of the federal government. I don't know much about the US so can't comment on whether he's genuinely cutting out unnecessary bureaucracy and leaving the 50 states to decide for themselves how to run their education systems and so on, or whether this is going to lead to a loss of leadership and unified priorities for the country as a whole. Predominantly an issue for the US people.

Now he's more or less stopped all US aid all round the world. Some of that money was designed to stop dangerous illnesses spreading around the globe, improving standards of education and so on. If the US doesn't fund these things they probably won't happen. Some of that will end up leading to problems for the US itself. That doesn't seem to matter to Trump, probably because he'll be dead by the time it happens.

And now this, which has the potential to cause god knows what. I have no idea how this stands in international law, but I have an uneasy feeling that Trump's next move is to say none of that applies to him.

He's deranged. So is Musk, from the look of it. Is Musk even a US citizen? The whole thing is mad.

NameChanges123 · 05/02/2025 08:29

Yeah, you'd think he had enough to sort out in his own country.

Agree with PPs: lunatic, moron, personality disorder.

In the sense that the Earth should crack open and swallow him up.

You will find, as the saying goes: “you may not be interested in Trump’s policies, but his policies will be interested in you.”

This is not the Prime Minister of Denmark or the Prince of Monaco we’re talking about. This is the most powerful man on earth and the head of state of the UK’s primary geopolitical ally. It’s going to affect you if he keeps behaving like a madman.

NormaleKartoffeln · 05/02/2025 08:38

I don't think it @Loveumagenta, I know it.
I don't know anyone in real life who doesn't think he is a vile narcissist.

babybythesea · 05/02/2025 08:39

I think it’s genius! The obvious place to locate all the Palestinians is the USA. They will need somewhere to go. So loads of Americans move to the Gaza Strip to enjoy the benefits of the Riviera lifestyle there, and are replaced by displaced residents of Gaza looking to better their own chances.
Obviously Trump will be on board with this, yes?!

Mumlaplomb · 05/02/2025 08:39

I’m hoping he’s making some big gestures in the first month or two, being the showman, then will settle down.

The world did not end last time because he was much more of an amateur (ie he did not have the tools to dismantle institutions he despises). However, he's spent the last four years preparing for this round. He is possibly the most dangerous thing that the world has seen in a long while. I did not think it was going to be this bad to be honest. Now I've changed my mind. There is something deeply wrong going on. If you think these posts are unhinged, you should talk to Americans who did not vote for him and hear what they think.

PurpleChrayn · 05/02/2025 08:41

I'm a British Jew married to an Israeli, and nobody in my circle approves of this or wants it. Not sure what the answer is, but it isn't this.

I'm a Zionist, don't get me wrong, but this isn't the right way of pursuing a peaceful safe Israel.

Exactly!
To be honest, I fear the influence of the crackpot fundamentalists who are literally hoping they will live through the Rapture and use unrest in the Middle East to achieve that aim. He is in the grips of a doomsday cult.

I think you are right, he is unhinged but what excuse is there for the sane people around him to nod along to every mad idea he comes up with?
I think that's more frightening than Trump's crazy ideas.

Clanke · 05/02/2025 08:44

Trump is not like other politicians, who have a professional, middle class approach. He talks like a guy in a bar but he’s not ‘mad’. You have to remember that 90% of what he says will not come to pass. If you concentrate on what he actually does and not what he says, you will be less depressed.

StandFirm · 05/02/2025 08:45

I highly recommend watching The Family on Netflix (if it's still available on the platform).
