How many more will Israel kill?

Whatsinanamehey · 29/10/2024 15:20

Nearly a 100 people reportedly killed in the north of Gaza today from a strike in Beit Lahia. Many of the dead are small children with some of the footage the most shocking I have seen. Dead children still trapped under the rubble and countless more injured. How can they continue to kill like this? How can this still be justified as self defence? How can such callous disregard for human life be condoned?

It's horrendous. Give the hostages back. It ends.

That sounds alot like excusing the mass slaughter of civilians. Ofcourse hostages should be returned as should all those held in Israeli prisons without charge!

That in no way excuses the above. How is Israel helping the hostages by turning the whole of Gaza into rubble?

What has the Israeli government got to do before the Western governments stop them? How many must die before our so called leaders decide to take action? It is beyond belief what is happening before our eyes. It is horror after horror.
The difference between a Palestinian child and a British child is their place of birth.
History has taught us that when we fail to stop evil deeds, they grow bigger and bigger. We are witnessing this now. I feel so powerless in the face of such cruelty.

There's no knowing where the hostages are now nor how many remain alive. Hamas turned down an offer at the weekend over their return.

Sounds like a threat tbh really poor phrasing. It reads as though this slaughter of innocent civilians including children will continue until hostages are returned.
Who are you addressing it to? The innocent children killed today?

TakeMe2Insanity · 29/10/2024 17:13

They won’t stop until every Palestinian is dead.
They won’t stop until they’ve got their greater Israel.

Ridiculous mantra. Netanyahu doesnt give a damn about the hostages.

If the best you can come up with is that tired lie, it might be more respectful not to post.

This.

This is genocide. Religious extremist genocide to bring about Greater Israel. And then what happens...?

Super power status. They have a long established nuclear programme that they’ve been carte blanche on. Many Israelis have protested over the years re the side effects but the world looks away.

It's been going on for years so highly unlikely that it will ever end.

Westfacing · 29/10/2024 17:36

As many as they like it seems - the world has stood by and done nothing so far.

Starmer's empty words today mean nothing - I don't know why he opens his mouth to be honest. If Netanyahu doesn't listen to the US president he's hardly going to take any notice of anyone else.

UltraHorse · 29/10/2024 17:41

It's sick all the killing and Kier saying Israel has the right to defend itself it's way past that. The hostages are probably mostly already killed by the Israeli attacks and if not why would Gaza release them for a temporary cease fire Israel doesn't talk about permanent cease fire Starmer should represent the people and ask people what they want to see like how many British citizens want to see an end to British support for Israel

You know that's rubbish don't you? Netanyahu has not agreed to any such deal!! This was never about the hostages for him.

Are you in a position to state that? I think returning the hostages will be just the beginning.

When we look at this map, which Netanyahu is so brazen about, and why wouldn’t he be, we know that it is purely about stealing land and resources, and somehow removing the inhabitants in the green marked area out, presumably by bombing them as they are doing in Gaza and Lebanon and paid for by their western allies (I.e. Us).

If you cannot even recognize genocide happening under your nose, something has gone seriously wrong.

User37482 · 29/10/2024 18:12

If Hamas actually said “look we are giving back the hostages” I think it would be done. The majority of the political pressure in Israel is for hostages to be returned not to create “greater Israel” 🙄.

Netanyahu isn’t actually a dictator, distinctly morally iffy but he is actually elected.

Erm I think thats a map of Iranian influence, not an invasion map.

I fully agree with this. Our MP knows that Netanyahu will take no note of his empty words or threats unless he takes action like he is being demanded to. Until then it's just a pointless exercise in the hopes to appease those who are against the genocide.

I too would really like to know what Israel would have to do for the US and UK to stop backing it. I feel there are no red lines left to cross.

Children, residential areas, hospitals, starving a nation, no aid.

What horrific act of war is there left for Israel to carry out.

I think they will continue doing exactly as they like but if anyone knows what would lead to US/UK withdrawing their support of Israel I would be interested to know.

Erm I think thats a map of Iranian influence, not an invasion map.

What it is, is a presentation of nations of innocent people being dehumanised and defined by their ethnicity as "The Curse", which is then used to present others as "The Blessing" and the people 'chosen' to wipe out the curse, and make the land there 'pure' again.

See also: the maps of Israel that show borders completely obliterating Palestine, maps of plans for 'Greater Israel', etc.

If a different man were holding those pictures, the world would probably be a bit more critical, but because it's that man, it's apparently not a big deal.

Currently there are domestic and international advantages to having Israel as an ally, which are of more value to US politicians than innocent (mostly) Muslim lives. As long as those advantages remain, the Israeli government, IDF and 'settlers' can probably do what they want.

Maybe an actual nuclear strike might raise a few eyebrows, but probably wouldn't get more than a "see me after class" level of reprimand.

I don't know why people on here keep insisting that the US and the UK 'make' Israel stop? It's not a playground at school. Israel is a sovereign nation. It does what it needs to to protect it's security. No one tells it what to do.

Hamas get stop this war any day by returning the hostages ( or their bodies ), surrendering, and admitting Israel's right to exist...

Still waiting for one of you to start that thread if you care so much about Palestinian lives....
