Can't edit the title. Meant to say Israel confirms bombing the refugee camp.

What is a refugee camp?

Yes, Israel has been getting away with this stuff for years with total impunity.

In 2009 Israel bombed a United Nations-run school called al-Fakhura School in the Jabalia Camp in the Gaza Strip. According to UN and several non-governmental organizations, more than 40 civilians were killed. This is one of a few such bombings to even make it to mainstream media in the UK.

Sounds just like the bombing of certain hospitals, mosques and churches recently, ahem.

Notice how all the media reports on the ground in Gaza are quoting 400+ killed in today’s attack on the refugee camp, but the UK press are quoting only 50…

A refugee camp is intended as a temporary accommodation. This refugee camp has been there since 1948. The great grandchildren of those who lost their homes in 1948 are classed as refugees though they, their parents and their parents parents have never been displaced. It’s a residential area.

You wouldn't bomb a whole school including the children, just because the school shooter was hiding underneath it.

Why didnt they send Israeli officals in there?

They can't bomb everywhere and claim Hamas is there.

There is no military advantage to bombing a refugee camp is there? What military leader would kill refugees who pose no threat to them and leave Hamas alive to continue to fight them? Would you call that good military leadership? Those rockets cost £50,000 each.

There is, however, a military advantage in bombing senior Hamas commanders and wiping out their bases.

There are approximately 25,000 members of Hamas (I looked and checked their membership & my work colleague is a ME Senior Research Fellow and is a trusted source who said he'd broadly agree with that figure).
