Only me, the lazy teacher who is clogging up the thread with idle chit chat back again to bore you all senseless with my waffle

Just popping into say not sure when will be back on again as am getting a stupidly early train up to Mr.F's parents tomorrow and then off to the wedding on Sun.

Mr. F's parents must be the only people who don't have wifi so although will have my lap top won't even be able to lurk How will I cope?! Then on Monday we're off camping in France with Mr.F's friend and his girlf until Fri when we're back at the pil's again. Already getting withdrawal symptoms- how will I cope?! It will be at least two weeks I expect- I will have to find a way to at least lurk. I am sure that there will be an influx of BFP's awaiting my return

So will say so long now and good luck to all! Hopefully the thread will be a bit easier for you to keep up with without me talking drivel all day Miss you all already! xxxxxxxx

highheelsandequations · 30/07/2010 22:04

Hi ladies, how are we all? Hopefully pleasantly merry on our tipple of choice to celebrate Friday! Well I am just having a break after my exhausting few days of being pampered in a 5* hotel with bucketsfull of champagne before cosying up in a cottage in the lakes for a week. Thought I'd quickly try and catch up on the gossip whilst DP is busy but there has been so much chat I haven't had chance to read everything properly yet. Hope all is well and look forward to reading all the news and posting properly soon.

xx

Ariesgirl · 30/07/2010 22:50

Thanks for all your lovely words, ladies . Sorry I'm so shit at catching up with everyone. It's just that I'm so busy at the moment. All I do is work, eat, FB, MN (a bit) and sleep.

OP posts:
Kaloki · 31/07/2010 00:53

This thread has been crazy busy!! I will sit down and catch up as soon as I can, I swear!

So um, not actually got anything to say, just thought I'd say hi. Still no change on my broken cervix, it's still messed up.

But the test results are negative for any infections/STD's, which points to it being the fault of the mirena coil.

Also, I've decided to count days again, just not cycle days, it's currently 42 days till I get married!!!

evilgiraffe · 31/07/2010 08:42

Doctor's report - she thinks I might have polycystic ovaries, and the main thing to do is to be less fat. Obviously I already know I'm a fatty, and having the doctor tell me so was quite miserable and I felt deeply ashamed of myself. I cried and everything, I am such a big girl. Still, it may be hard work to lose weight but it is at least simple. Hopefully in a few months I will be a mere shadow of my current self.

gardenpixie · 31/07/2010 09:09

giraffe sorry you are upset. Is the Dr doing further checks to confirm whether you do have PCO / PCOS or not? You probably already know this but it's really common to have insulin resistance if you have polycystic ovaries which has huge implications for how to lose weight.

Hope you're OK

gardenpixie · 31/07/2010 09:15

And don't feel ashamed! One of my friends has PCOS and was really overweight - she kept being treated really shoddily by Drs until they diagnosed her PCOS (she had to go private as the NHS Drs said they wouldn't investigate until she lost weight but she couldn't shift the pounds despite trying really hard).

Then she found out that she had insulin resistance and that's what caused her to put on weight to begin with and meant it was very hard to lose - so they put her on metformin for 6 months and she was able to get her weight down really quickly.

She was really sad that it took so long for someone to explain it could be the PCOS causing her weight problems; she spent years feeling rubbish and thinking it was her fault despite eating sensibly and exercising loads.

Kaloki · 31/07/2010 12:36

evilgiraffe You aren't alone on the overweight thing, I believe my BMI now puts me in the obese category

TomboyWife · 31/07/2010 14:01

Morning ladies, and big hugs to those whom the ERTD got.

After about a week of doing a good job with the SWIing, we've been rather rubbish the last few days. In theory I should be ovulating round about now, but the CM hasn't shown that, so I'm not going to stress about it too much. In fact, I think I might have ovulated earlier in the week, when we were being good about the SWI. Kind of hard to tell, though -- I had quite a few of the "Is that my bodily fluid, or his?" moments.

I've not done temping or used OPKs up to this point because the change in the CM has been really obvious -- in fact, I remember noticing it back when I was a teenager and my mother explaining what it meant. But with the addition of, ahem, copious amounts of male bodily fluid, it's getting harder to tell.

We had a GP appointment this morning to discuss why we haven't conceived. The doctor said seven unsuccessful cycles wasn't that many (which I knew already), but still referred me for the day 5 and day 21 bloods, and DH to the w*nk-in-a-cup clinic. I'm not looking forward to being stuck with a needle, but I'd rather that than DH's forthcoming indignity of, erm, having some quality time with himself while some random stranger waits around outside.

Saor any news from you yet??

Sorry ERTD turned up aries

Hi to everyone else, trying to keep MN to minimum so I'm not going crazy!! Doing pretty well so far but it will get worse when I hit CD 30 cus I'm not sure how long this cycle is gonna be as I dunno when I ov'd so it'll just be a waiting game from then. Thought I had slight cramps this morning so not getting hopes up too much.

gardenpixie · 31/07/2010 17:00

Tomboywife good effort!

I don't think I've ov'd yet this cycle so haven't been pestering Mr Garden too much but I am keeping my fingers crossed that my body will get its act together soon!

TigerseyeMum · 31/07/2010 18:25

I can't keep up with this thread!

Still waiting to ovulate....don't think I have yet....no 'signs'....

I'm all poised and ready as well.... He is getting twitchy

Ariesgirl · 31/07/2010 21:25

Giraffe so sorry to hear what the doc said made you miserable. My good friend at my old work had PCOS and had had it since she was a teenager. The weight had piled on and she ate sensibly and did as much exercise as her weight would allow and still she remained overweight. She was very maternal and despaired of getting pregnant naturally. But she did and now she has the most adorable 2 year old boy and is pregnant again. It may take you a bit longer, but you could still be fine. Have you asked the doc for any advice or help? It makes me mad when I hear of doctors just telling women stuff they have to do with no advice of how to do it.

Shock horror - the thrush has appeared this morning, surely means ERTD is not far away

SaorAlba · 01/08/2010 10:25

No news here. Still trying unsuccessfully not to obsess. I've not been off the pill all that ling so should have expected irregular cycles. Don't feel like ERTD is imminent and had a bfn yesterday. Going to try to hold out til the end of the week before testing again. Only have one pg test left.

Although I haven't been posting I've been keeping an eye on you all. Hi to all the new and oldbies.

crazybutterflylady · 01/08/2010 10:37

Morning both...
Still no sign of my ERTD either and was due on yesterday... like you Saor, i am trying unsuccessfully not to obsess. It's so hard though! It's such a vicious circle because I know that the more I think about ERTD the longer it will take to arrive because I am stressing about it without wanting to... I did have a bit of cramping yesterday so it can't be far away although I usually come on the same time as the cramping... just wish it would arrive so I can have a glass of wine with my lunch

I have decided I'll try another test tomorrow first thing and if it's a BFN then I'll forget about it till next month. (HA! I'll try anyway)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you both - MrsWajs thrush can be a symptom can't it?

Have a good Sunday x

CaveMum · 01/08/2010 11:10

Morning all.

Sorry to hear about the thrush MrsWajs - I suffered with it in my early teens and it was horrid.

Girrafe sorry to hear that your Dr was so insensitive (((hugs))).

I popped down to good old Holland & Barrett yesterday and bought some Agnus Castus so fingers crossed it will do the job and get me regular.

I know flick has used AC and said it rely helped her cycles, has anyone else dabbled and if so how long did it take before you noticed a change?

to everyone.

cherrycobbler · 01/08/2010 12:44

zips a belated BOO to your ERTD. It does suck, and particularly when you are given glimmer of hope. YAY to hormones being A-OK for fruitful shagging though! Hope you're feeling ok.

Oh no re thrush mrsW - sending lots of non-obsessing vibes your way to help you through the next few days. I also gave up temping for a couple of months as couldn't be bothered and think I'll start it again next month so at least I can see when I ov'd.

crazybutterflies the wait is rubbish isn't it! although for what its worth I think that although stress can delay your ovulation, your luteal phase is pretty fixed, give or take a day, so even if you chew your fingernails right off with worry you won't be delaying your ERTD. WHat I'm trying to say is - late is late, and there's hope yet!

EvieTheGiraffe grrr, doctors can be so insensitive - idiot (them, not you). PCOS can also make it v hard to lose weight so its not exactly fair to make you feel so shite about it. I could have written aries's story about her mate (really actually, quite scary - work friend, one kid, expecting number two at the moment) - PCOS doesn't mean no to conceiving naturally, don't give up hope.

Three days from ERTD and already getting cramps. Still convinced, despite having all symptoms, that I might be pg so DH is stocking up on consolatory gin for when ERTD arrives.

cherrycobbler · 01/08/2010 12:46

"despite having all ERTD symptoms". Obv not having ANY pg symptoms.

Doh.

TigerseyeMum · 01/08/2010 13:09

Morning...I mean, afternoon

Attempt number 1.

My ovulation nodule as described in Weschler's book has popped up so just to be sure we did some fandangoing.

I'm hoping I am one of those people that comes off the pill and falls pregnant just by looking at a man. Or something.

Hope everyone's well today
