Oooooooooo SUCH a good point crazy ...

LankyLegs · 29/07/2010 16:06

Hello crazy shopping biatches!!! OMG - love all that 50's stuff and the dresses Flick and cave. Are you gonna buy them are you are you huh huh?!

I wish I could wear the the 50?s style dresses but I have a crazy hour glass figure and absolutely hate my size 10 12 hips ? they jut out for miles. Hate them! Agggh. Everyone says they will be good for childbearing but errr .... hello where is the child?!

You girls I so bad - am now trawling clothing websites when I should be working. Flick you are on holidays so we can blame you!

gardenpixie · 29/07/2010 16:15

Oh lanky yes my brothers helpfully always tease me about having child bearing hips ... but nobody's told the baby fairies about them yet ...

felicityFlick · 29/07/2010 16:54

My hips are also rather on the generous side too. I also worry about length of dresses when I order online as I am tall and don't want the skirts to be too short. I don't think I will purchase on this occasion as I am trying to be good [ahem]!!

lanky do you look like this

zippys · 29/07/2010 17:01

oh my god how much can you lot talk!! Just got back from hospital and meant to be working but just popped on.

Consultant has no idea why I am being sick, I am a medical mystery! However he said my hormones etc were excellent for TTC ( well they cant be that good or else I would be pregnant!) He also said I should not rely on pregnancy test as it was too early based on a 25ml one and should wait a few days and test again (still no ertd). Especially on basis that ultrasound showed I just about to ov. SO now I am all stressed again - arggh

Right too much said to comment on peeps individually but had to join in with the shoe and dresses. I have a VoH dress, one of the ones you wear a petticoat with (although it is a little tight at the moment .

Then when it comes to shoes I could talk all day. I have a little bit of a problem when it comes to shoes, I had well over 100 at the last count and all but 5 pairs are 5" or more heels. I have a mix from M&S to designers one, quite a Kurt Gieger ones.

Infact LankLegs I am also motor head with a passion for dresses and shoes - are we related??

On the waxing convo, I get bikini line waxed and shave legs and armpits. Did you know that if you are really hairy when you give birth the midwife may shave you!!!

Right I am getting back to work now as we test driving another car tonight - a Jag XK (R) - v excited!!!

crazybutterflylady · 29/07/2010 17:44

Hi hi! So I have just done a test and got my first BFN (when actively TTC that is!!). Hey ho... Hopefully ERTD will arrive this weekend just to compound this and then I can start being myself again instead of having phantom pgs... (yeah right).

As you were...

CaveMum · 29/07/2010 17:44

zippys I had heard that too! Someone told me about a friend who was "shaved with a blunt Bic & looked like a plucked chicken for days"

Loving all the clothing talk - glad I'm not the only one that loves the vintage style stuff. Think I will resist buying at the mo but fully intend to call into the VoH shop next time I'm in London to try things on! I'm wary of buying clothes online as I'm a funny shape - think Kate Moss top half (teeny boobs) and JLo bottom half! I do love my curves but wish everything would fit into the same dress size!

Bigger boobs is one of the side-effects of pregnancy I'm really looking forward to!

crazybutterflylady · 29/07/2010 17:48

zippys I guess that's sort of good news from the hospital then (apart from not knowing why you were being sick) - I bet you can't wait to do another test! Everything crossed

gardenpixie · 29/07/2010 17:49

Oh crazy it's still really early for you test so fingers crossed you'll get a BFP if you test again in a few days ... and you know all the stuff about "holding one's water" (lovely phrase) for 4hrs or so before testing if you're doing it early? And about getting the super sensitive tests?

gardenpixie · 29/07/2010 17:50

and zippys fingers crossed for a BFP to explain all your symptoms too x

crazybutterflylady · 29/07/2010 17:59

Is it too early garden, so could it be a false negative?

OH NO! I didn't know any of those trade secrets - I just used a cheapy one I had leftover from a scare, and have been peeing all day (lovely, sharing!) so no chance of holding for 4 hrs.

So maybe I should get another test and do it like on Monday morning when I first get up?!

cavemum really? the shaving? OMG. Lets hope I can still reach it with the cream when I am towards a due date. If I get up le duff of course

gardenpixie · 29/07/2010 18:12

crazy when is your ERTD actually due (today, Sat, Sun?)? You can still get false negatives for a few days afterwards if you don't give the hormones a chance to build up in your pee.

crazybutterflylady · 29/07/2010 18:15

Ermmm I was expecting it around 31st or 1st so Sat or Sun? I am sometimes a day or so later than I expect it to be - or have been the past few months.

The box said you can use it 4 days before you are due... but I guess if I am peeing a lot anyway then it's diluted is that what you mean?

Gah the things we discuss...!!

crazybutterflylady · 29/07/2010 18:15

As I was typing that a woman just walked past outside with a big bump... smoking.

I am not one to judge but

gardenpixie · 29/07/2010 18:17

yes crazy that's it. and also if you use them early, they aren't as accurate - does it tell you how accurate it is this early on?

you don't have to use first morning pee but you need to let any hcg that's lurking in there build up enough for the test to register it

gardenpixie · 29/07/2010 18:18

Nooooooooooooo. awful.

gardenpixie · 29/07/2010 18:18

the smoking woman that is

crazybutterflylady · 29/07/2010 18:19

It says a concentration of 15mlU/ml or greater?

Might as well be in German...!

crazybutterflylady · 29/07/2010 18:20

I know some people don't know how lucky they are, when you think of all those women who can't conceive. Makes me sad.

I'm not judging, because I have never smoked, but...

crazybutterflylady · 29/07/2010 18:22

Oh hang on, no it just says most accurate on first day of missed period - but can be used as early as 4 days before a period is due. Huh?!! So "buy lots of tests and use them when they are probably not going to work"?? Bloody money making schemers!

Cynical, moi?

felicityFlick · 29/07/2010 18:40

Hi zipsyoumedicalmysteryyou how strange? Can;t remember if you have been tested for a stomach infection? Two of my friends have had them recently and it took 6 months for one to be diagnosed. Apparently it is caused by a bug that lives in your stomach and inflames the lining. She was given a long course of super strength antibiotics and finally felt better. Her symptoms sound identical to yours too. Great news on your excellent TTC hormones am v. of them! Am not a motorhead so don't know anything about the car you're test driving but it sounds pretty flash even to someone who describes cars by colour and shape! oh and EEEKKK about testing again!

crazy you need to use your first morning urine as it is the most concentrated so has more of the prego hormones in it. Can you hold out 'til Monday?

cave JLo is a hottie!

Did you purchase anything this arvo garden? perhaps something nice to go with the shoes?

Well, I've not done any of my work today. Perhaps, I might get it done this eve whist sitting on my arse watching the soaps If I don't I absolutely must do it tomorrow or I will have no lessons to teach my children when I go back to work.

felicityFlick · 29/07/2010 18:43

Sorry x-post with you garden and crazy
This is what saoralba posted a couple of days ago
