BUnderTheBonnet · 08/06/2010 17:24

I think the SWI is getting to me a bit...

OP posts:
hairytriangle · 08/06/2010 17:26

hairy streaks through the thread while only bunder is watching - don't tell the others

VivClicquot · 08/06/2010 17:31

bunder - hahaha. If you've been SWmuchoI, it's no bloody surprise you're running all bandy-legged like Phoebe...

clareanna · 08/06/2010 19:10

I hereby declare this a lucky thread to all who use it - BFPs all round!

LadyBee · 08/06/2010 19:55

oooohhhh fab costume clareanna, love the spangly suspenders

d'you mind if I just plump myself down on a cushion in the corner for a bit? I'm still just regaining my equilibrium after this morning's shock.

Thanks everyone for the lovely positive responses though, it helped remind me that it is actually a good thing, and what I was aiming for . I think I'd just gone into this with such a big 'Now, you know this is going to take time so don't be too disappointed when it doesn't work' attitude that I hadn't actually considered the prospect that it might.

So, I'm allowing myself a quiet 'yay!' and slinking off to the corner to cheer you lovely ladies on for a while.

Moofold · 08/06/2010 20:14

Hello! I go away to Bristol for a few days and look what happens, another BFP and a brand new thread! Congrats LadyBee - I bet that was a nice wee surprise. I gather from your previous threads that you weren't quite expecting that and didn't have many symptoms. So, share your success story - how did you manage that?

I was really interested reading all the theories on the SWI, conserving the little swimmers and all that. Of course I am bloody interested as i am desperately trying to get upduffed! However, my CBFM has announced the arrival of high fertility this morning and I am planning on doing nothing about it - for a good few days at least. It has been giving me 5/6 highs then 2 peaks and 1 last high previously. Since going at it hammer and tongs has not produced the desired effect I had thought about changing my tactics this month and having only 2 or 3 well timed days with concerted efforts - thus hopefully avoiding the dreaded 'botched' attempts. Is this a risky strategy, am I losing the plot??? What do you think girls?

Viv what is going on with your CBFM asking for sticks on the wrong day? I was raging this month, orded cheap sticks off amazon which weren't dispatched in time and arrvied on day 10, after expensive sticks purchased at boots. Battery I think my CBFM cost £100 off the CB webshite!!

Sorry for not namechecking but waves to everone else. Hope your declaration works out Clare. Had a giggle at your post-coital descriptions Linda - how funny are we lying there trying to keep it all in!! Good to see some movement for your Hairy x

digitalgirl · 08/06/2010 20:36

Hello new thread.

Right, rtd still not arrived. However I have a plan of action:

  1. Acupuncture consultation book for Thursday lunchtime at same place I went last time when ttc ds.
  2. Guide to PCOS book ordered off Amazon
  3. Running buddy found for lunchtime running sessions starting next week in a bid to kick start my slow metabolism
  4. Start moving DS into his own room as of tonight in a gradual end to co-sleeping.
  5. Appointment with fertility clinic at hospital next week to, at the very least, investigate my irregular cycles if not the two mcs.

Trying to be positive.

Freezingmyarseoff · 08/06/2010 20:45

Cheers everyone

Cheepz I hear you on the not TTC. I'm ready to say to fck it too, or rather fck DH
How's the house move going? When are you due to move? Just go for it I say, I dare you!

Hairy great news on the HCG dip.

Hi Linda great to see you back again.

BUnderTheBonnet · 08/06/2010 21:32

Sorry to bring this up again and lower the tone, but on the subject of "keeping it in" has anyone tried mooncups?

I do not speak from personal experience, I might add. No eco-warrioress here, I'm afraid to say.

ladybee - top news!!! Chuffed for you.

Good news on the test Viv; it IS good news, but understand why it makes you frustrated

On the whole when/how often etc....

Pg one (unplanned but very welcome DS), one night of unprotected drunken passion. Lord knows where in the cycle
Pg two (MMC1), SWI on CD10 and 12.
Pg three (MMC2) SWI on CD 10, 11, 12.

So this month have SWI four times for pg 4 (geddit!) on CD8, 11, 13, 15....

So am definitely pg. For sure.

Bunder.... no mooncups here either!

magichen · 08/06/2010 22:39

hi ladies, well i've been watching the previous thread for a while and thought it was time to get involved! You ladies have provided me with a lot of support and encouragement over the past few weeks just reading the posts, so thank u so much for that. I mc last month on the 13th may at 12weeks, we have decided to ttc again right away and currently waiting on new cycle to start, think it could be any day now.

Looking forward to spending more time with you guys!

tigger15 · 08/06/2010 22:50

Hello - my cycle seems to be wrong on here. I'm on CD11 today and CD12 tomorrow. I had a scan today and everything looked in order (for ovulating). So maybe I'll be lucky or if not onto the next stage.

Muser · 08/06/2010 22:56

I really don't think mooncups are necessary. I know it feels like everything slides straight back out again, but it really doesn't. We are sort of designed to do this, so have faith in those little swimmers. Enough will get through.

VivClicquot · 09/06/2010 09:00

Morning lovelies

Hi to magichen and welcome to our lovely new home. It's looking spick and span at the moment, but before too long there'll be spilt wine and cake crumbs everywhere. You mark my words.

Seriously - welcome. Am sorry you're here but am glad you've found us x

I'm with Muser on the whole mooncup issue. Call me weird, but I just don't get them!

What I find interesting though - and prepare for WAY too much information for 8.55am - is that last cycle, we did the deed on my first CBFM peak and barely anything came back out. Did the deed twice on the second peak day and it felt like gravity ensured EVERYTHING came back out - and that's depite being legs-in-the-air for a good 20 minutes afterwards.

So I just kinda think it's not an exact science but as the human race has been doing this kind of thing for millennia, there can't be too much of a design fault there...

Right. Have almost disgusted myself with the overshare. Have a good morning my darlings xxx

Muser · 09/06/2010 09:35

Mooncups for their intended purpose are fabulous.

MrsGMack · 09/06/2010 10:12

8ladybee* Wonderful news - congratulations

digitalgirl · 09/06/2010 10:37

Welcome magichen good luck

Am on the mother of WTF cycles here. No rtd, cm starting up again. Think I might be gearing up for ov attempt number 3. Perhaps the acupuncture tomorrow will actually help me hatch the egg properly this time.

I had to google mooncups too Linda, I don't like the look of them for any purpose! Thanks for sharing Viv!! I think we need these TMI posts because its what we're all thinking anyway.

Welcome Magichen, so sorry to hear about your loss. Its still early days so i hope you are coping ok. Digi hope this is third time lucky for you. Fingers crossed for you too Tigger

Well, another high on my CBFM and I am going to try and hold off SWI again -- even though I am giving myself the fear that I will miss the boat. I really hope there is a method in my madness....

lucysnowe · 09/06/2010 12:58

Welcome Magichen, glad the conversation has been supportive.

Re: mooncups - def not good post-SWI (if that what you mean BUnder?? they're hard enough to wrestle in at the best of times. viv seriously that is interesting, I suppose because of the position of the cervix more gets scooped up, as twere? hmm if only I could ever find it.

So RTD back with a vengeance today but temps still high - but apaz you can have high temps and a period, who know? Due to increased progesterone I think which I suppose is not a bad thing. So I am going to see what my temps do tomorrow and do a final test and if BFN I'll go back to the start and take today as CD3.

It's very odd because my symptoms were VVVVV pg-ish - but then as I don't always ovulate I don't always get PMT so mistook it, IYSWIM? Interesting anyway. My BBT chart is a work of art. and good luck with ov, digi, third time lucky.

Good luck to all on a new cycle!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 09/06/2010 13:20

oooooo it's nice in 'ere! I asked Magic 8 Ball if there will be lots of BFPs on this here new shiny thread and it said...'yes'

Anyway, good afternoon ladies from me and the mate on my face. My skin is so shit I am considering going back on the pill....and then maybe if I forget one I might get duffed up!

Well done Bunder for starting the thread and giggle at the mooncups (bless you lindalinda )

Welcome magichen sorry you are here but I am glad we have helped already

Good luck Digi with your needles this lunchtime, let us know how you get on.

Sorry about RTD Lucy I think most of us have been fooled at some point during to 2ww.

Moof there is method to your madness, hang in there x

Viv...I get ya

Jolls your pattern can't be broken you must be duffed up!

Happy lunchtime gals, will be back with the pimms later
