Ridiculous Symptom Spotting... come on... you know you do...

1000 replies

millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

loving the womb ache, i say to dh that my ovaries hurt! He's turned into a poas fanatic and keeps asking me to do a test and when i say ive done one he says to do another! His feedback regarding sb's was "youve got veins" that was reassuring to know! Then he agreed 1SB looked swollen. His eyes keep popping out of his head when he sees me wearing certain things as severe bloating after ive eaten is leaving me looking 4 months pregnant, even created a bit of nostalgia by wearing some pjs I got as a xmas present while pregnant so wore them a lot and have fond memories of my bump in my pjs so its all getting dh into baby mode and hes even getting sad at bfn's even though usually he takes it on the chin.

AuntFlosAssassin · 28/08/2010 09:52

Hi everyone

Any news?

I dont know whats going on with my body (whats new Grin). Ive noticed ive been having alot of bloody cm lately, have actually taken to wearing panty liners cause its that noticable. Im thinkin this is maybe just an after effect of the hsg-def convinced my tubes had a good clear out.

swollen boobs have returned and some niggly pains in my womb area.only on day 16 so maybe this could be ov? god knows. today is the last time we can bd as dp has to abstain for 2 days before his SA which is taking place on tuesday. The appointments for 8.30am,gonna be a bit of a rush to get there on time cause ds's creche only opens from 8am.

Does anyone know how long it takes for results of sperm analysis to come back?

row78 · 28/08/2010 10:54

Hi assassin, for SA I know that they run it through an "obstacle course* and one of the things they test for is how many sperm are still alive after 24 hours, so at least a day. However we had to wait for a consultant to read the figures to us (wouldn't do it over the phone) so it took a few days, this was private though so they could sting us for another consultant appointment, it could be different on the NHS. Good luck!

bossy we watched some video clips we took just before my son was born and my hubbie was also getting a bit teary and remembering what it was all like. I can't believe I ever looked like that now, how quickly we forget!

I still have womb ache but I'm only 3/4 DPO so it can't be a symptom. I'm in a fair bit of pain actually, the pain is around the womb area and then around my back. I also spotted a tiny bit last night but it's far too early for implantation. Who knows what my body is doing? I centainly don't!

bossyboop · 28/08/2010 14:52

I had a dream last night that dh and I did some bding and it brought af on like a bright red fountain. Opted for that method this morning and sure enough some red stuff emerged after. Though Im hoping af starts properly soon rather than it dragging on for a couple more days as at least then I can start counting again, its awful when the end of a cycle drags on and on. Though I wont complain about having bouncy boobs Smile
Got a tummy upset as well though everyone else is fine so no sympathy!

alien06 · 28/08/2010 18:22

howdy am a newbie to this thread..ok if I join??

I am currently TTC no.1 I am currently at day 16 of my cycle( unsure of how long it normally is as Mirena was taken out in June and had period then 32 days until the most recent one. )

I was just wondering --- I have had pains in my lower abdomen for the last two days that are quite noticeable and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what this could be?- ov or implantation?? Im being blonde , just wanting to know what days in a 'normal' cycle would warrant the pains being implantation.....

x

bossyboop · 28/08/2010 18:39

Hello. welcome aboard! Sounds to me like ovulation (being an expert and all Hmm ) Its good to notice these things so you can grab the opportunity and the other half with both hands, then thats when the fun begins the 2ww and the symptom spotting!

alien06 · 28/08/2010 18:51

bossyboop ah, ok well I am defo grabbing the opportunities :)

so is it a 2ww after the pains started or when they stop??

this is the first month that I have had these pains... very peculiar lol

bossyboop · 28/08/2010 19:02

when ttc you notice allsorts! Im guessing it would be that as most people ovulate halfway through their cycle then its about another couple of weeks before af would be due, but just depends on your own cycle. Im going to have to go to the loo and see whats happening with my cycle now...!

alien06 · 28/08/2010 19:19

bossyboop oooops sorry sending you off to check lol

Yup I shall guess it is the ov then, and just get on with it I guess, am guessing when I am due so wont really know if I have missed one or not as not 100% when it is due. when is the earliest I can test if I was preggers from this ov time?
soz for all the Q's!

bossyboop · 28/08/2010 19:35

you can get the early response tests - up to 6 days early but it only works for a small % of people, the 99% accurate stat only works from the day af is due so the earlier you test the lower that % is. I think the egg needs a minimum of 10 days after ovulation for a pregnancy to be viable. Sainsburys does a set of 2 £4.50 up to 4 days early. Ive stocked up on the cheap sticks from amazon, £7.99 for 50 with free delivery. I avoided them at first thinking that I would only ever need 1 test but now on month 5 im well and truly round the twist with it so they are handy for testing when you know its impossible to get a positive result! Nothing to report from my loo check yey! Now 4 days late tho lots of negative tests, a little bit of teasing which may be implantation or just a sadistic af! Lots of symptoms and pregnant boobs!

alien06 · 28/08/2010 19:44

ooooo pregnant boobs are a good sign bossyboop fingers and toes are crossed for you :) is this TTC number 1 for you? I have also stashed up on the cheap sticks from amazon but too scared to use them lol, may try in couple of weeks, hopefully these cramps will toodle off soon to as rather uncomfortable lol

apparently these cramps are similar to implantation so at least I know what to expect, i guess that would be in 2 weeks? god I am totally useless, and you know what I have read up loads lol

bossyboop · 28/08/2010 19:50

ttc #2 but im far worse this time round, the first time it happened the 2nd month so no time to obssess over every symptom! Yeah about 2 weeks. I dont have any good feelings left for me this month, think af is just being mean making this cycle drag on, but then again good old internet says it can take up to a week after implantation to get a positive on a hpt. You have to have some hope dont you Smile

alien06 · 28/08/2010 20:21

ooo yeah I bet its hard not to obsess! I am obsessing and not really 100% what I am looking out for hahahaha. I am a very negative person so it is hard for me to relax and think positive! but I am sure we will both get there eventually :-0)

I just cant see myself getting any proper symptoms like every other person that is getting pregnant around me...

bossyboop · 28/08/2010 20:28

think once I know for definite af has started I will get the fertility book everyone is talking about, at least reading a book helps me to think im doing something useful!

alien06 · 28/08/2010 20:34

ooo which book is that?

bossyboop · 28/08/2010 20:39

taking charge of your fertility its called i think...

alien06 · 28/08/2010 20:40

oo I shall amazon that then! I have miriam stoppards one

AddictedToRadley · 29/08/2010 01:47

Welcome Alien and hello regulars!!

I've got the book from the library as I didn't want to pay for a book if it was naff but am now thinking of buying it as it's great. I love the pictures of EWCM. I thought I was having EWCM but it turns out I wasn't and only realised what it was after seeing pictures! Anyway def got the EWCM now and OV cramping so trying to bd when not in too much pain but it's so difficult when I'm hurting 24/7 (can't wait to be pg as my lung tumours were so much less painful with ds). Anyway I bd on Thursday and was going to again tonight but in alot of pain today so just can't be bothered! Poor dh - he gets it when he can and is grateful!! He really is so wonderful and understanding. Smile

Bossy I'm really hoping something's happening for you. When I was pg with ds I didn't get a BFP until AF was 6 days late, on the other hand I was convinced I was pg recently and instead was just having a 40 day cycle.....aaarrrggghhh how bloody annoying! There is still hope so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Assassin I've not had the hsg so wouldn't know what to expect but it does sound like you've had a good ole clean out. Maybe this is the month.....?

DH and I have decided if I don't get a BFP this month then we're getting a ClearBlue OPK next month. I've got the weird feeling that we'll fall pg next month I don't know why. That would be fabulous though as I'd be due in June around my late dad's birthday. The strange thing is that I lost my nanna who was very special to me and had DS on what would've been her 80th birthday and if I'm right then I would be due on my dad's 70th birthday. That would be wonderful as it'd turn a now sad occasion into a happy one Smile Also our next DC will be named after dad, a boy would be something like (first two names tbc) Harry Luke Ernest, and a girl either Gracie Louise Erneista (pronounced Err-knee-sta) or Charlotte May Erneista. My dad was Norman Ernest so we thought we'd use the Ernest as it was his dad's name too.
With DS I was given a due date of my nanna's birthday, then a later date but he was born at 8.11pm on 8/11/08 and it would've been nanna's 80th so lots of 8's!

AddictedToRadley · 29/08/2010 01:55

Dandelion yes it was me that changed my name from A1 to Radley. TBH I was hoping that you'd disappeared onto the Ante-natal threads! It seems ages since I saw you post and couldn't remember if you'd had a BFP (and was far too lazy to re-read all the old threads to find out Blush). We've recently had a house move fall through after 5 months of hanging on for this idiot! We've got a family coming to view our house tomorrow (fingers crossed).

Anyway it's good to hear from you again.

bossyboop · 29/08/2010 11:36

wow pictures of cm thats what you need isnt it nitty gritty stuff not photos of models posing as a loving couple - thats not going to get you pregnant!

Im still no further forward today, nothing new to report.

Nearly up to our limit, nearly time to move threads!

shelleylou · 29/08/2010 15:55

hey all thought i'd come join again after MC in July i've had a bit of a hard time ended up with an infection after it. Never rains but pours here. I've found myself in the same situation again, nauseous, sore boobs and incredibly tired. AF was due yesterday but im too scared to test. I told DH i was due today as dont want to get his hopes up, hes still gutted after mc but has swept it under the carpet.

How is everyone getting on?

mojo1981 · 29/08/2010 18:16

hello...new to this...sympton spotting.... ok, well we been trying for 3 months, i'm am 4 days late,(periods are pretty clockwork) have had sore boobs and itchy nipples and currently got slight cramps like period pains....coffee keeps tasting odd to me too.

To scared to do a test incase i disapoint myself...what do you guys think?????

alien06 · 29/08/2010 18:21

hi mojo1982 I would say go for it , but then again I am really impatient and would want to know now if I was or not :-0)

I have had BD whilst ov so hoping I miss AF this month and have a mini me on board, but after 3 months I am guessing that is highly unlikely lol, but hey at least this cycle I have had ov pains :)

chico193 · 29/08/2010 18:30

See my other post. I am symptom spotting even though I have just had two days' AF like bleeding. I definitely feel sick but it might just be that I need to eat. I had AF type cramps for a week from the day I was due until bleeding started, but now it has stopped much quicker than normal. I normally get three days of medium flow then it gradually tails off for another 3-4 days.

AddictedToRadley · 29/08/2010 21:48

Guess I'll start the new thread otherwise we won't know where to go!!

Thread title will be:
Symptom spotting part 2 - Home of the suspicious boobs and other strange goings on!

We can always move again later but this is just so we can all meet in the same place!! Hope to see you all there xxx
