millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

I am on cycle one as well....so far I've had...

Ovulation nodule on the left
Cramps
Pain on left ovary then pain lower down left hand side around ovulation time
Bloating
Hormonal skin
Extra CM after ovulation
Craving odd foods
Weeing for England
Back pain
Tiredness

Of COURSE I must be pregnant...not. The body is an amazing thing, but the mind even more so!

MummyWithA1Family · 10/08/2010 05:09

Oh Row honey I'm so sorry. Wish I could give you a real hug right now but an imaginary one will have to do

Don't loose hope though. Can't remember if I said before or not but I was told at 18 I should have a hysterectomy as I was in pain from endometreosis and dr said it would be impossible to concieve!! I fought like mad against it as I'd not even tried to concieve so wouldn't go for drastic surgery before I'd even tried. When dh and I decided to try for a baby I'd only had 2 af's in the previous 12 months. We told gp we were going to try and she did a routine poas test and it came back positive! Unfortunately we lost that one but a week later I fell on with ds and his twin (lost his twin). So I went from absolutely no chance of conceiving to a bfp when using condoms (no tears or leaks as dh had a weird obsession of checking them after!! lol) and when we did try we fell on within a week !!! Of my 7 pregnancies 3 were conceived whilst using condoms!! Sad that I only have my beautiful ds from 8 babies but there was 8 babies conceived so it proves drs and tests are not always right! I so hope they are wrong for your sake or that if they are right then the test has unblocked your tubes. It's really difficult to stay positive so I know how you must be feeling. My thoughts are with you xxx

Bossy I love the idea of purple wee!! Although I'd want to change it to blue or pink wee to determine the sex. If it's boy/girl twins you could always have the purple colour. Then the colour varies in strength depending on how many babies there are ie for 1 boy pale blue, 2 boys royal blue, 3 boys dark blue and 4 or more black for a boy or red for a girl. Oh Bossy you've made me giggle!! The thought of rainbow wee!! Hehehe. I guess we could continue it to green for an infection and brown to say your oh is cheating on you (coz that would be shitty!!). Oh dear I've really lowered the tone now. I'm so sorry, actually, no , I'm not because it's given me such a blooming good belly laugh and I needed that! Thank you.
Any more suggestions on what our body could do to indicate a bfp without the need or expense of poas (if your as obsessive as we all are about poas then it's very very expensive!!)?

Hi to all newbies . Welcome to the mad house thread.

Got a drs appt on Weds afternoon so will wait til then. I'm not going to poas anymore for 2 reasons;
1- I don't want to waste any more money
2- I'm really scared of getting a bfn or another very feint bfp as that will def upset me more than it will not knowing. I'm going to think I'm not pregnant then if I am it's a massive bonus but if not it won't be so upsetting (who am I trying to kid?)

singsong10 · 10/08/2010 11:23

When I was little our yorkshire terrier had a phantom pregnancy - stealing loo paper and padding out her basket with it (nest building), stealing our toys and 'mothering them' - I'm feeling a bit like her now.
I had so many signs last week, my signs had signs!
My period started Monday. (blush)

bossyboop · 10/08/2010 13:18

Yesterday I was in a weird mood, feeling so happy I could cry...then the postman brought credit card statements and it was just depressing so I was having a browse for jobs, thinking of what I could pop on ebay, I was also thinking about a baby a lot and during all this emotion I went into the kitchen and there on the floor was a random white feather. I hadnt been outside and no window was open and it was just there on the kitchen floor and about 6 inches long so very noticeable. I was a bit freaked out as some people believe angels leave you white feathers as a calling card. To begin with I thought maybe it was a sign the finances would be ok then I wondered if it could be a sign for a baby. Now theres a ridiculous symptom - a white feather!

Did get to pounce on dh last night and still having heartburn and dont usually get it. I had wondered if I may be one of those that ovulates super early but dont think ive had ewcm yet and no SB in sight! Think its more likely that on cd13 ovulation is yet to occur but feeling ever so weird, but think its just such happy thoughts for a baby, feeling all warm inside and all that!

Though it wouldnt be true bossy style if i didnt have symptoms before ive even ovulated! Last night had a mcdonalds and it tasted hideous. Dont know what is more ridiculous - the fact it could be a symptom or the fact I actually thought it would taste nice!

row78 · 10/08/2010 17:24

marmite, tiger welcome, when are your AFs due? Lots of symptoms, excellent!

mummy - thanks for your kind words, I'm going to go to GP and ask for a HSG test, at least then I will know one way or the other if the tubes are blocked, and if that will cause problems. I'm so sorry to hear about your multiple mcs, some things are just not fair. I really hope this one sticks. Do the hospital run extra tests for you because of your history?

sing - we can be cycle buddies, I started on Monday properly as well.

bossy - good luck with the pouncing! Fingers crossed the feather is a sign.

MummyWithA1Family · 11/08/2010 01:25

Row apart from a gp blood test I've had nothing at all re mcs. Not even seen a gynae yet! I get extra tests though because of my tumours. With ds I had scans every 2-4 weeks. I loved it as I could see him growing regularly and it was so reassuring that everything was ok. I hated it when it was 4 weeks between scans as the wait seemed never ending so don't know how I'd cope if I was 'normal' and had just 2 scans in 40 weeks!!
When is your HSG test? Hope it goes well x

Bossy wow a white feather could be a sign! It certainly sounds like you're nice and relaxed about this month which often helps with conception. I hope so.

Dreaded drs tomorrow. Don't know how to feel about going as I'm scared they'll say it's a bfn. Done 10 tests now!! Blush How obsessive am I? 6 bfn and 4 bfp. Guess it's not looking so good now is it? Should stop speculating and wait until tomorrow.

We've been offered some chickens for free which we really want but unsure if we can afford a coop this month as I have to find the rest of the money for my new car which should be ready on 1st September. Can't wait nice big car ready for lots more babies!! Grin

bossyboop · 11/08/2010 09:50

I hope so, had a run of bad luck in our family the last 12 months. I told my mum about it and she said she had also found a white feather - spooky eh?! I hope its a sign the bad luck is about to change.

Hope all is well at the doctors, fingers crossed for you

row78 · 11/08/2010 14:53

mummy should they not be referring you to to the fertility clinic about these mcs or do they not care because you already have one son? And tumours as well? Blimey I'm going to stop moaning about my lot! Hope everything is all good at the moment and how did the docs appointment go?

I wanted chickens as a baby substitute before my son, I still want them in the future though once he's a bit bigger.

bossyboop · 12/08/2010 11:31

quick update from me - since my mum found her white feather her dreadful bad luck has changed and received some good news! Hope I can get some good luck too, just call me the mad feather lady! In the middle of the night I had some twinges on my left side so MUST be ovulation! Jumped on dh this morning and he has demanded more of the same tonight Blush normally opt for the 1 day on 1 day off approach to replenish some good stock but as it could be last chance saloon for the month...

AuntFlosAssassin · 12/08/2010 13:30

Hi everyone

Bossy fingers crossed the white feather was a good sign for you. I really believe in that so im quite jealous you've got one lol

cd28 for me and ive been spotting since cd25.wish af would just hurry up and arrive properly cause ive to get this dye test booked and i cant do it until i get full blown af, its just random brown spotting at the minute. ugh the one month i dont even think about anything to do with ttc and i start spotting on cd25!

A1 how did you apt at the docs go?

MummyWithA1Family · 13/08/2010 01:17

Just really quick update. Dr really really nice on Weds shame she's only a 6 month locum! She said as I've had 6 positives and 4 negatives mixed together there was no point poas as wouldn't tell us much. I've had a blood test for hcg and should've got results today (Thurs) but as she's new she didn't realise bloods get sent before 12noon so we missed it so the results will be back tomorrow (Fri). She thinks I have left over hormones from last month. Do you remember last month I had a 40 day cycle then really weak af (sorry for tmi but looked like cm streaked with blood rather than full af)? Well she thinks that could have been a mc Sad Hope not as that'd make it the 7th baby I've lost!!! Anyway if there's hcg no matter how low I'm being sent to EPU for a scan immediately (if they'll see me but as not bleeding may have to wait for regular scan). If it's now showing no hcg at all it means I had a mc last month and I was getting last bits of hormones showing from that! If that's the case then she wants me to see a specialist re recurrent mcs. About bloody time too!

Anyway I'll know more tomorrow at 2.50pm so fingers crossed that's it's still a bfp but it's just early!

broughthimroundtotheidea · 13/08/2010 07:55

Good luck with that A1, you poor thing for all those MC's
Well I decided I wasn't going to poas until the 18th, however I am having loads of symptoms so am going to do it today. AF due around now, but not absolutely sure of the date as this is our first month TTC after DH caught me by surprise and relented to my "digs" after 4 years of saying no!
Symptoms are.................. Sicky feeling, changes in toilet habits, tummy feeling tight already (surely not when it would only be the size of a poppy seed?!) and weird fluttering the day after the first attempt which was at a high pant snot (love that saying) time.
This would be #3 for us and I didnt have any symptoms at all in the first month with the others but am 10 years older now!

bossyboop · 13/08/2010 11:55

A1 hope its a good result for you but reassuring to know if not you are going to get referred on - isnt it always the way that when you get to see someone new things get done. It must be such a confusing time for you.

I had more twinges on the left side yesterday leaving me to be totally convinced i was ovulating, so hopefully mondays attempt and thursdays 2 attempts should leave us with a good chance. Tummy feels all nice today, had some pulling sensations this morning and some mild stretching though could easily be a rsi off bding yesterday Blush here goes the 2ww...

AuntFlosAssassin · 13/08/2010 13:30

Hello girls Smile

A1 everything crossed that you get the result you're wishing for today, but like bossy said it is a relief to know you will be referred at last if not.

Broughthimround your symptoms sound very promising!! good luck with your poas!! Have you done it yet?????

Af finally arrived in full force. Have got hosp apt for this thursday for dye test at 2.30pm so fingers crossed for me that my tubes are normal and not blocked. too scared to think of what is going to happen if they are.

MummyWithA1Family · 13/08/2010 15:59

Friday 13th strikes again! I knew I shouldn't have seen dr today. Sad

I wasn't pregnant this month it was left over hcg from last month. Apparently that super dodgy 40 day cycle was in fact a mc. I know I should feel happy that I didn't mc this month and that things are finally moving but can't help being really upset that I lost another baby last month. Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

I can't believe I've now lost SEVEN babies Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

broughthimroundtotheidea · 14/08/2010 06:58

I got a BFN Sad . However I still feel like I am! I consoled myself with a bottle of wine last night before remembering I got a BFN with DS first time I tested. Will give it a few mre days then try again..................it was an asda cheapie. Bad news A1 hugs x x

AuntFlosAssassin · 15/08/2010 21:15

so sorry to hear your heartbreaking news A1,hope you're ok.

brought thats crap about the bfn but you never know maybe it is wrong!

broughthimroundtotheidea · 16/08/2010 07:32

No......not wrong :( AF has arrived with a vengeance! ah well at least I can now make the most of our holiday next week and have fun trying. It was only TTC1 x

broughthimroundtotheidea · 16/08/2010 08:05

Edit We're TTC#3 cylcle 1!

row78 · 16/08/2010 08:41

mummy - oh what awful news, you must be gutted. At least you are being referred now, it seems so unfair that you have to go through this 7 times before referred.

AuntFlo Good luck with your dye test. Apparently the dye helps clear out the tubes at the vest least and I know a few people who fell pregnant straight after one (including me). I'm have a doc appointment tonight to beg them to put me on a waiting list for a dye test as well, it came back as blocked tubes last time but then I got pregnant so want to know if I'm wasting my time being teetotal etc this time. I also called the private clinic near us and it's £250 for a hcg test and £140 for the inital consultant's apppoitnment so considering that as well if the waiting list is too long.

brought - boo to your BFN, at least it was only cycle 1, fingers crossed for next cycle

bossy - good luck with finding things to do to distract you in your 2 ww!

bossyboop · 16/08/2010 09:49

unfortunately for me today thats several loads of washing (where did that all come from???) and rubbish weather so drying indoors too and every other household chore to do today for visitors tomorrow, though at least it will mean I can be lazy the rest of the week.

I was flicking through my fertility book again and read that the chinese reckon you should keep yourself warm, warm drinks and food etc to warm your insides to nurture the egg to help it take, got to be worth a try right? Had a vague twinge/cramp this morning for about a couple of seconds - wow so thats conclusive then for this month! Hmm about 4dpo now. Was supposed to opt for the 2nd orgasm technique to help suck the sperm up but forgot though did manage a few pelvic floor exercises, every little helps right! Next month im going to have to get right in there so to speak to suss out cm as this month I had no idea really what was going on.

row78 · 17/08/2010 11:15

I've not heard about this 2 orgasm technique, though to honest with work and looking after my son I hardly have the energy for sex never mind multiple orgasms, I just fall asleep!

I'll try to type out all I know about cm later when I'm not at work, I've read some interesting stuff in that Taking Charge of Your Fertility book

I'm half chinese and my grandma has 6 kids, so it must worth a go! :)

MummyWithA1Family · 18/08/2010 04:24

Right then. I've decided, bugger it, I'm back on the ttc game straight away!! Apparently you've a higher chance of conceiving and not mcing if you try again straight away so I'm going to give it a go!

Got the fertility book from library today and read loads already! I think I've been mistaking ewcm for the 'pre-ewcm'!! Ooopppsss lol

Good luck Bossy on the 2ww. Fingers crossed. x

I'm now on cd6 and going to follow the book to the 'T'. I love the idea you can tell if your pregnant or not well before af's due. At least that way I'll know straight away if I'm not (if my temp doesn't stay up for 18 days then I know I'm not so no more 'Am I, aren't I?' on the dreaded 2ww! Grin

hairytriangle · 18/08/2010 08:25

I am 5 days post ov and have sore nipples andslught cramps. Too early for symptoms is my mantra!

bossyboop · 18/08/2010 10:15

A1 you are sounding so positive and im glad youve got something to focus on, its good to be excited about ttc again!

Im 6 or 7 dpo and dont have any post ovulation symptoms which for me would be SB and sore nipples and extreme bloating. I do have a heavy feeling in my tummy and just feel eeeuuurrrrgggghhhh...
