Ridiculous Symptom Spotting... come on... you know you do...

millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

Sorry AF got you Bossy . I have to ask though how on earth you can abstain from serious chocolate binging pre AF? I can't get enough chocolate few days before, then again can't get enough every other day of the month!! That's probably why I lost so much weight with DS as I couldn't stand it or anything too sweet! Lol. Although I'd love a girl next time, maybe I should hope for a boy and the wonderful weight loss that comes with it.....

bossyboop · 27/07/2010 08:23

I feel good anyway - probably because i wasnt expecting it till friday so it was a surprise - especially after having no cramps or anything.

I would love another girl as ive got a loft full of dd's old clothes and the teeny tiny ones have hardly been worn and look brand new. Been browsing round for xmas and cant help but get excited about the pink fluffy dressing up things and beads and things she is now old enough for

Full of cold so at least I can medicate as much as I want and there is wine in the fridge!

Possiblythisishappening · 27/07/2010 08:54

Hope I am not infringing on an established friendship group, but am feeling the need to write down my own (ridiculous!) feelings and observations if that is Ok. Please ignore me!

  1. 'Feel' pregnant since day after sex.
  1. CM stopped the day we did it and only returned yesterday (4dpo) briefly, and was light brown.
  1. Feeling a bit bloated in that area (ie foof) and generally kind of woozy and hormonal.
  1. Boobs feel hot and heavy and a bit sore (still bfing toddler)
  1. temperature was a bit up last night, for no apparent reason.
  1. my skin is quite oily.

This is all - I am not supposed to be pg, not trying to be pg, and it would be a shock if I was, but anyway - there you go!

As you were

MummyWithA1Family · 27/07/2010 10:55

Hi there Possiblythisishappening
Yes, I would say were now officially an established friendship, think we know each other better than our other halves!!! But you are certainly not intruding and are more than welcome to join I certainly think you fulfil the criteria ie symptom spotting when no way of being pg, excessively symptom spotting, the suspicious boob thing - talk to Bossy she's a master of suspicious boobs (just one mind you ) etc etc

Bossy I with you there about self medicating - you need to to kill the germs!! Has to be done and tastier than Lemsip - that's assuming you can taste!! lol Hope you're soon better
I'm so jealous of you looking for girly stuff. As much as I adore my DS and wouldn't change him, I would love a DD to dress in pretty things. Boys clothes are boring compared to girls plus for every 4/5 rails of girls clothes your lucky to get 1 of boys! Always more choice for girls - means I can't impulse buy as much!! for me for DH and bank balance (or rather overdraft!).

Taking DS to drs tomorrow as he's drinking excessively and always thirsty. Also he's sleeping more than usual. Asked for advice in childrens health on MN and was told by everyone inc a retired dr that it may be diabetes . I'm sure positive it's not but better safe than sorry. Just don't want to waste drs time as they already think I'm an over anxious first time mum. or unsure which to feel at drs!!

MummyWithA1Family · 27/07/2010 10:58

Why is it that my posts always end up super long? I try and try to keep them short but never succeed.
Maybe I'm just far too chatty or more likely way too opinionated!

Possiblythisishappening · 27/07/2010 11:04

Aw thankyou, what a lovely welcome!

I really hope your DS is OK and it turns out to be something entirely normal. You must be really worried.

Dandeliondrama · 27/07/2010 13:04

I'm back {sags on to couch} Hi A1, Possibly, Bossy, Assassin and anyone I've missed. I've been having an awful time with the doctor, who can't figure out what's wrong with me. The tests which they did last week were inconclusive, so she did a whole new batch of them this morning, including the most painful pap smear that I've ever had in my life. Doctor looks at me, all surprised, and exclaims 'you're bleeding!' ('down there') while doing pap smear. Yes doctor, I did mention that beforehand. Grrr. Anyways, they've booked me in for an ultrasound this afternoon and I'm in the middle of drowning my insides downing a litre of water in preparation for it.

A1 I love you long posts

Sorry to hear that AF seems to have got you bossy, oh dear. If it makes you feel better, I've been poas-ing enough for both of us . Am loving my super-poas kit from amazon, which allows me to induge as much as I like. All BFN's of couse so far, but as AF is due on Thursday there is still a smidgeon of hope.

Have to go now, off to hospital. Love to you all x

bossyboop · 27/07/2010 13:41

hope all goes well at the hospital. One of the doctors i saw once about some changes in menstrual cycle a few years ago said "well it could be something or it could be nothing" I thought well yes but which is it?! After some swabs it was nothing - phew!

You can never be too careful with children and we would never forgive ourselves if it was something and we didnt act on it.

Hello Possibly!

cheers for the tissues, cant still taste but only just, going to take a few days rest before the bding gets in full swing and hopefully next month will be back to normal. Off for some choccies now

Lepeeps · 28/07/2010 12:58

Hi all. I'm typing this on my iPhone, sorry for any mistakes in advance.
I have reading this forum for a few days now and now I'm totally convinced I'm pregnant. I don't know the lingo yet so I will put it the only Way I know.
My cycle is 28 to 31 days, on day 27. Boobs have never felt so sore early. I can't really explain how I feel but I just feel different. I look at all your symptoms and I can them too but I think I'm just wishing for them. I naughty and did a test but negative. Very disapointed. Will try on hold off from doing another until the weekend. I'm the most impatient person you can come across. Ahhhhhhhhhh

Lepeeps · 28/07/2010 13:04

See I told you I would make mistakes. My fingers are to fat for my iPhone

LadyDiana · 28/07/2010 14:03

Could it be possible I'm pg even though bf pulled out on said day? Yes, 'feeling pregnant' is always a good one! I even entered this very phrase in my diary this month (which I keep in the hope that next month I won't be so dillussionaly hopeful!) Googling 'sore breasts at the end of the day - pregnant'..... um, pigging out on junk food (gotta be growing a sprog, innit?). Cramps! Tired! (even though i feel like this every month, this month still might be the one!). Oh dear. (blush)

AuntFlosAssassin · 28/07/2010 20:42

Hi girlies

Dandelion sorry you havent got any answers yet,im sure you must be so frustrated and worried.
Bon Jovi experience was brilliant-the band sounded just like them. Oh i was soooo unbelievably drunk lol did nothing but boke when i got home and was soooooo hungover the next day-was so worth it though!! Was a great great night, lots of laughs and sore ribs the next day

Bossy sorry af got you, hope next month is your month [hugs]

Letter came today about dps sperm analysis, the appointment is on 31st august,im quite suprised it arrived so quickly.

Sorry post is so short-need to have a proper read through!

Lepeeps · 28/07/2010 21:26

I think I'm about give up the hope for this month. Don't think it's the month. Got my hopes up but now think it was all in my head. Just waiting to get my period now. Please can someone help me with the lingo. What is AF, DH, CD and any others I should know?
Thanks girls. :O

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MummyWithA1Family · 29/07/2010 00:12

Hi all newbies and those unfortunate enough to be stuck on this thread forever (seems that way anyhow!). Sorry Dandelion no epic novel today just a quick post before go try to sleep (had 2 teeth removed today owwwwww).

LePeeps AF is Aunt Flo (period), CD is Cycle Day (count from 1st day of AF), BD is Bedding Down / SWI is shagging/sex with intent (sex), DH is Darling Husband, DS is Darling Son, DD is Darling Daughter, DC is Darling Child/ren, DP is Darling Partner, TTC is Trying To Concieve.
If it says TTC DC2 for example it means trying to concieve 2nd baby.
Hope that helps and made sense. If your not sure most of these are listed in the shortcut above entitled 'acronyms'.

Back in a day or two. Good luck all this/next month. Hope tests come back ok Dandelion & Assassin

bossyboop · 29/07/2010 10:07

cm is cervical mucus, ewcm is egg white cervical mucus, iyswim if you see what i mean, tmi too much information tho think we need a new one ladies...SB - suspicious boob!

bossyboop · 29/07/2010 10:08

oh and dpo days past ovulation

MummyWithA1Family · 29/07/2010 10:42

I'll second the SB!!

Lepeeps · 29/07/2010 12:43

Wow! Thank you. I like the AF. That's genius. Ok I got the lingo now just need the bambino.

Good luck girls.
Xxxxx

bossyboop · 29/07/2010 15:00

did we mention bfn (big fat negative - pregnancy test) bfp (big fat positive - pregnancy test) and poas (pee on a stick, take a pregnancy test) think thats them all...!

Dandeliondrama · 29/07/2010 20:26

lol @ bossy, I think that SB is definitely one for the acronym list!

Thanks to you all for thinking of me with the hospital tests...good news is that my ovaries look fine, no cysts and they can definitely confirm that I'm ovulating. Hooray. Bad news is that all of the other tests came back fine - and I'm seriously seriously not making up my pain/nausea/spotting etc etc Spoke to the doc this morning and she was like 'sometimes your body can play tricks on you'....fabulous. Bossy I thought of you and your experience of 'it could be something or it could be nothing' and I was like iiiiiiiiiiir . Anyways, I've been prescribed a load of antibiotics in case there is an infection, so will see how things go.

{deep breath} rant over. Sorry!

AF has got me yesterday I'm afraid, so I'm out for this month. Am going to look on Amazon for some cheap opks so that I can happily poas to my hearts content and hopefully time things right with the bd-ing next month.

A1 hope the jaw is doing ok, you poor thing. You really haven't had much luck with your health it looks like.

And glad you had a great time at the bon jovi thing Assassin, hope the ribs have recovered, lol.

Oooooooh, my turn for a novel!

Lepeeps · 30/07/2010 14:01

Ah. Done another test today. Due on today but bfn. Got pains down there so just waiting for AF to knock on the door. Booooo.

bossyboop · 30/07/2010 14:02

Does anyone else think the stress of wanting one so much is holding us back - I keep getting mouth ulcers, maybe its the stress. I know I feel more calm and collected than the first month but its still always in the back of my mind, shame I just cant switch it off for a bit. Im determined to make this month the month. Positive thoughts and visualisation techniques ahoy so at least I will be thinking about it in a more productive way. Nearly time for BDing again...

AuntFlosAssassin · 31/07/2010 08:02

Hi everyone

Lepeeps sorry to hear about bfn

Bossy yes i def agree with that, just look at me,25 months down the line, nothing but stress, tests and worries and still no baby!

tbh ive totally lost all interest this month, have only bd once, dont even know what cd im on cause i havent been counting (and thats the truth!!!). I have noticed ewcm the past 2 days and havent even bd cause i couldnt be arsed.and you know what im not even worrying about it!whats the point?it doesnt make my situation any different.
I think ive sort of resigned myself to nothing happening until i get dye test and dp gets sperm analysis. This isnt me being negative im just being realistic.im not spending another minute stressing, ive allowed it to take over enough of my life already.Im just going to be grateful for my beautiful ds and what will be will be.

Oh dear i tended to rant on a bit there didnt i lol hope i didnt bore you all to sleep

pmsl at the new acronym bossy .everytime i hear the word suspicious i'll think of you

Dandelion im so pleased that your tests all came back ok,though u must feel like you are going a wee bit mad with all them horrible things going on with your body .

Does anyone have anything nice planned for the weekend?

Flighttattendant · 31/07/2010 09:50

Dandelion and Lepeeps, I'm really sorry about AF.

I've got past the testing frenzy now because I know it actually has a chance of showing up - bizarrely I just don't want to know, because it'll be such a big thing to deal with and I can't face the shock! I might manage to when DP is here - but honestly would rather wait another week and see if AF turns up.

Now 9dpo, have terrible thrush (which I NEVER get) but that could just be a big coincidence. I don't feel very pregnant any more either. A bit fuzzy and a bit sicky still, but that's probably nerves.

No SB particularly either though they were for first 6 or 7 dpo. Odd.

Hope you all have a good weekend anyway x

bossyboop · 31/07/2010 11:50

Sounds like a good idea to chill out, when i cant be bothered i dont do it, dont want to for the sake of it and tbh my body plays tricks on me so these so called ovulation signs are probably about as real as my pregnancy signs!

Dont know where the scorching weather is I keep reading about, we havent had it, raining on and off. Hoping for decent weather so we can go out into the countryside for a run about, fresh air, picnic and see if we can catch anything in our fishing nets.
