Ridiculous Symptom Spotting... come on... you know you do...

1000 replies

millymoo1234 · 29/03/2010 21:22

OK, so since TTC I've thought (or wondered briefly) the following might be signs of being pregnant...

funny rash on my legs - still don't know what this was
three spots on my forehead - I was convinced this was a hormone induced 'breakout' as I don't normally get spots)
General bad mood - turns out I'm just grumpy
crazy dreams
needing a wee
not needing a wee
not liking the smell of coconut - weird
feeling very weepy and sore boobs - hmmm... this could have just been PMS!
stuffy nose

This month I have a massive craving for Mango which I'm normally indifferent to - I am of course CONVINCED that it's my month...

Am desperately trying to hold out till next weekend to test... I need distractions! anyone else had any funny symptoms and wondered if it could be a SIGN?

pleas join in the madness and let me know I'm not the only one! xxx

Hairy, that sounds like me! Ive been symptom spotting for years even when on the pill and i didnt miss any, think for me its highlighted a need to have a baby, so although at the mo im laid pack about it all and feel like i could wait another year or so but I know if i went back on the pill the urge to have a baby would hit me like a tidal wave.

Sore nips that reminds me, that was my other ovulation symptom, from then till af like the rest of the symptoms.

AuntFlosAssassin · 20/07/2010 13:37

hi everyone

I just wrote a big long post and then somehow deleted it by accident arrrgggh
Ive decided to take it as a sign that i am not meant to write it now. it was just a load of old self pitying nonsense anyway lol

A1 you're back-how are you? Hope you're all better..

Hi to Hairy, have you decided when you will be testing?

Hope everyone else is ok and not being driven too mad

AuntFlosAssassin · 20/07/2010 13:38

Also forgot to say Ant where have you disappeared to????? Hope you're ok..

Dandeliondrama · 20/07/2010 19:11

Hi All,

Well being 4 dpo I figured that this is as good a time as any to start symptom spotting again for this month . Except that miserably my body is not playing along, and everything is pretty normal really. Booooo. Have some slightly weird coloured cm which I haven't had before, but that could be any number of things and so I'm not really focusing on it.

So I'm not very interesting today it seems

MummyWithA1Family · 21/07/2010 03:42

Thanks Assassin I'm still not great but have managed to stay out of hospital. Yippee!! I'm going to see an osteopath on Thursday so fingers crossed for a magical solution. Went to dentists about cracked tooth but he didn't have time to take it out so got to put up with it til Monday! I asked how he'd get it out as it's completely cracked and only held together by an earlier filling, he said I'm best off not knowing which has made me panic more. I hate dentists with a passion. This is from both bad experiences and because of my medication (past and present) my teeth are going rotten. My dentist is lovely but I'd rather him have said don't worry we have ways! Looks like I'll be having all my molars out in the not too distant future but he said I won't need anything replacing ie dentures as you only need 8 teeth at the front at top and bottom to eat properly! Not sure about that - maybe just slush to eat from now on!! Mind you better than dentures at my age..... Oh I feel old.

Assassin I too wrote a big long and very in-depth post earlier then deleted it by mistake. Maybe it was a sign for me too! Hope you're ok though with you saying 'self pitying'. Lots of coming your way if you're feeling down. xxx

Lol at Dandelion for symptom spotting at 4dpo. Actually sorry scrap that I've just realised you said 4dpo and not 4dpAF!!!! Doh You must agree though symptom spotting at 4dpAF would be excessively funny even for all of us on this thread! Gosh I really am losing it have lost it.....

One of the things I said in my deleted post was about that book we were talking about 'Taking charge of your fertility'. Instead of buying a copy I thought I'd borrow it from the library instead if they had a copy. As I couldn't get out with my bloody agonising sore back I mentioned to DH that I was going to go to the library when I was able to get out. Bless him, he only went to the library and ordered it. It'll be here in 3 weeks. Can't wait! My DH is so good to me. Even if he's embarrassed, which he insists he's not, he will go to the shops and buy AF things, underwear for me, carry my handbag (once when I met up with him whilst I was out on crutches - I don't make a habit of asking him to carry it!! Lol) he even went to ask what the best breast pads/disposable maternity pads etc were when I was in hospital. If I ask (or not as the case maybe) him to do anything at all for me he does it without question! I must be the luckiest woman ever! Don't get me wrong he's not a pushover of a man. He's a proper man's man. He was in the Royal Marines and was a high ranking officer.

I have to share some fab news with you all! My DH was in our local town a while ago and found £150 in a plain, unmarked envelope. He handed it in at the police station and was told if nobody claimed it we'd get it. We never thought anything of it as we assumed it'd get claimed. Anyway it didn't and we got given it today. I'm so proud of DH for doing the right thing (not 100% sure I would've done if I'm honest, especially not as we were struggling financially at the time) it's now money we can enjoy guilt/conscience free. Thinking of going to Skegness for the weekend on Sat 31st July to see Rock 'n' Roll Paradise. We've seen them before and loved them so can't wait for a repeat performance! Anyone else fancy going? Only £5 a ticket well worth it for a great night out! If you're interested the website is www.rocknrollparadise.co.uk Highly recommended!

Did anyone go to the bf picnics on Monday? If anyone's in Leeds area we'll be organising another meet/bf picnic to 'protest' at the bf laws in England and Wales. The aim is to get the law changed like it is in Scotland.

Anyway I've rambled on far too much, sorry so I'll just quickly say I'm on CD11 and have only managed BDing on CD10 because of my back. Don't know when OV will be after messed up cycle last month. Don't think I'll be able to achieve the 'every other day' that I said I'd be doing, because of my back so don't hold out any much hope for a BFP this time.

MummyWithA1Family · 21/07/2010 03:45

OMG I know I can ramble on about nothing but that last post was wwwaaaayyyyy OTT, even for me! Sorry ladies

MummyWithA1Family · 21/07/2010 03:51

PS Dandelion maybe no symptoms IS a symptom IYSWIM? If all symptoms so far have led to a BFN then maybe a lack of will lead to a BFP?
Fingers, toes and eyes crossed......

bossyboop · 21/07/2010 11:47

cd19, wow going over quick now! Last bding before ov was cd12 thus assuming cd14 is ov day tho dont know. Sore boobs now, and craving candy floss and beef burgers tho not together! Nothing else to report for now!

MummyWithA1Family · 23/07/2010 02:48

Where's everyone gone? You all run away from me into some secret club in a far flung corner of MN so I won't find you?

I usually come on in the early hours and have several pages to catch up on and it's great but last two nights nothing.....

Hope you're all ok. Maybe you're all too tired to come on from all the BDing your doing and the ensuing symptom spotting?!?!

bossyboop · 23/07/2010 08:52

Ive just been miserable tbh, is that a sign?! Tired though with bleeding gums and feeling a bit sick on and off. A week to go for me then it starts again!

AuntFlosAssassin · 23/07/2010 14:59

Hi everyone

I disappeared for a few days.tbh i was reading a book which was really good,so ive been sitting at night reading it rather than coming on here.i've finished it now

Bossy are you ok? i detect a bit of fedupness from you [hugs]

A1 happy to hear your feeling a bit better. thats a stroke of luck about the money! And what a lovely dh you have may i add

I was at gynae appt this morning. He did a swab of my cervix to check for infection, and also told me they're sending me for the dye test. There was an appt available today that i could have went to but he wants to wait until the results of the swab come back. Ive to go back and see him in three months, and in the meantime dp has to go for a sperm analysis, and ive to ring the xray department when i start my next period and they will book me in for the dye test sometime between cd6 and cd10. waiting on the appt for the sperm analysis coming in the post so hopefully that wont take too long.
TBH im a bit annoyed that its taken since my first appt in october 2009 til now for them to even mention sending us for these sorts of tests. I feel like i have wasted 6 months of my life taking clomid for no reason whatsoever. Anyway i suppose things are moving forward for us now.

Im going out tomorrow night to bon jovi experience and i cant wait.havent been out in ages.just going to let my hair down and enjoy myself.

Dandelion have any symptoms surfaced yet?

Dandeliondrama · 23/07/2010 20:47

Hello lovely ladies,

Sorry I've also been a bit quiet over the last few days....have been symptom spotting like mad and have found out that they weren't so ridiculous after all. Sadly no pg in sight, however I apparently have a massive abdominal infection (they don't know what type yet)which is causing my tiredness/nausea/achy abdomen/funny coloured cm/higher than normal temperature....lol, such good pg symptoms. I'll be getting some test results back on Monday so might know by then what's going on, but am feeling a tad worried.

So, the big question is: Can one still fall pg even if one is ill and running a low grade fever? It's bleddie hard as it is just being in full health, so I'm not holding much hope for this month. I don't have the heart to tell dh that all our efforts may have been in vain. Uugh. I'm on about CD24 now, so only another 5 days until AF is due...we'll know soon enough!

Assassin oooooh, bon jovi, I'm jealous! (Should I admit to that??!!?) DH does not understand the attraction, lol. Good luck with all your tests, I can't believe that they've taken so long to get organised.

Thinking of you bossy, hope you soon have good news to cheer you up .

Awww A1, you missed us. How nice . I really enjoyed reading your epic novel post on Wednesday!

MummyWithA1Family · 24/07/2010 01:41

Awwww Bossy it's so bloody hard to stay upbeat all the time. Hope it is a good sign.

Assassin all I can say is about time too! Let's hope you get your answers soon. I've heard the dye test often clears tubes and you can fall on next cycle. Fingers crossed.

Dandelion yes I think it was more of a novel, obviously was in a chatty mood. I hope your results are ok please let us know. Also hope you're soon better.

I'm going to my best friends wedding tomorrow so best try to sleep. Night all.

Good to see you all back

Linwin · 24/07/2010 09:25

Ladies

Can I please join? trying to stop myself getting a PG test as I can't deal with seeing another BFN

Me and DH are on our 7th month of trying. Had a MC about 18 months ago and due to losing job / new job crap haven't been able to start trying again until the start of this year.

So this cycle I am on about day 38 - my cycles are usually 31 but since we've been trying I've had 31, 35 and one 40 day cycle.

No symptoms apart from feeling totally wiped out and a bit of a runny nose but I get that anyway before AF. Other signs that AF is on its way again is the usual backache over the last few days.

I know its not really been long enough to start panicking but obviously I am anyway. I have a consultant appointment next week as thankfully my health insurance will pay for all tests, although not treatment if I do need any. I just feel like I need to know one way or another if something is wrong, then I can hopefully relax a little. Ha! sure.

Please can someone hold my hand and tell me not to test?!

AuntFlosAssassin · 24/07/2010 09:28

aww A1 did we give you a bit of a panic
A wedding-how lovely . Hope the weather is lovely and you have a great day.
I've also heard that dye test can flush tubes out which is great news for bding .I dont think id be that lucky though lol

Dandelion im not suprised you are worried. My mum has just been diagnosed with a serious abdominal infection too-its called halibactor. Is this what your being tested for? Hope you're ok
BTW dont be embarrassed about liking bon jovi-they are legends .Luckily my dp likes them too.We are going with sil+her dp and 2 friends.Other sil is coming up to mind ds.
Im sure it is still possible to get pg when you're ill, though i also think its possible for illness to delay ov.

AuntFlosAssassin · 24/07/2010 09:32

Sorry linwin i missed you there.

Course you can join in! The more obsessives on here the better cause we all encourage each other along .
Hope your appt next week goes well,i fully understand your need to know everythings ok
Have you managed to stay away from the hpts til now this cycle?

Linwin · 24/07/2010 10:27

Thanks Assassin

Yes I have managed to stay away from the hpt's....avoided going into boots yesterday evening even though i needed loads of stuff cos I knew I just wouldn't be able to stop myself putting one (or ten) in the basket!

Dandeliondrama · 25/07/2010 08:27

Oh what a very frustrating thing an abdominal infection is!I have a whole load of pg symptoms, but have to chalk every one of them up to not being well. Grrrr. Spotting, cramps, nausea, tiredness, funny tasting bubblegum....am feeling very sorry for myself that I can't join in the monthly fun with any accuracy! lol.

I have no idea what type of infection is is yet Assassin, however will be speaking to the doctor tomorrow who will hopefully shed more light on it. How was Bon Jovi? Hope you had a fab time!

Hi linwin {waves} you've definitely come to the right thread, the ladies here are legends and have been a massive support in the short time that I've been here. I'm in a similar boat to you as DH and I have just about finished our 7th month of trying. Although the logical part of me knows that the doctors say that trying up to a year is perfectly normal, I can't help getting paranoid that there may be something wrong. Definitely wait until at least CD40 to test (that may be today?), as that's been your longest cycle so far. If I may ask, what health insurance are you on? I like the idea that they'll pay for the tests, and am wondering whether I should check the terms of my health insurance in more detail to see if they are covered too. Hang in there!

bossyboop · 25/07/2010 09:48

morning all, cd23, expect this next week will drag. Had some beige cm yesterday about 8dpo. Did i mention dh noticed 'one suspicious boob' and said "wow youve got one fat boob" lol. Been feeling the urge to shut my eyes in the middle of the day but that is probably down to the last few weeks catching up with me. Though I have no hopeful feelings whatsoever but at least ive cheered up

bossyboop · 25/07/2010 09:52

oh and good luck to those waiting for tests, glad you are getting help. Thought I had already said that but thats because i typed a post yesterday but closed it down when dh got a bit close, like to have some privacy - i find it like filling in a diary but you get a response!

Linwin · 25/07/2010 10:19

Dandelion thanks for the words of support, today is cd 39 so I think I will try and hold off another couple of days to test.

Absolutely no symptoms whatsoever, except I did think my morning coffee tasted kind of weird this morning...maybe the milk was off though

The health insurance I have is through work and is particularly generous, the insurance company don't normally include infertility testing as part of their normal policies...always worth checking these things out though - good luck!

raspberrytipple · 25/07/2010 20:06

ok, Im not sure I know my cycle at all and am very confused, i think i have talked myself into stupid symptoms.
First day of my cycle was 12th July and I finished my period on 15th July. during week of 19th I had the whole cervical mucus thing going on wit a pain towards the end of the week that I associate with ovulation. Is it possible to ovulate on or around day 12 of your cycle or is this way to early? I only ask as I feel queesy, headachy and last night we went to the coop to buy some food and OH picked up some olives for me (as I love them) and I nearly puked on him........ am I going mad? I think I may be..... I am also quite bloated and knackered but Im probably knackered because I am lazy. What do you think ladies? Have I just got very over excited and lost it already - Im only on first month of trying??
xx

MummyWithA1Family · 26/07/2010 16:30

Hi girls new and old Welcome all newbies and good luck, if you're obsessive about getting pregnant then you're in the right place !

I'm on cd16 and had some ewcm on Tues (cd10). Even though my back's completely screwed up and painful I still managed to bd on cd10 and 12. Unfortunately that's all I've been able to do with my blooming back. Hopefully that'll be enough, it only takes one time and all that.........although must admit I'm not holding out much hope, I can't be that lucky, can I?! Answer to that is I very much doubt it! Keep trying to make a conscious effort not to symptom spot but one that's glaringly obvious and can't be ignored is the fact that yesterday I slept for 23 hours and when I got up to go to bathroom I fell asleep on the toilet!!! I'm super tired again today.....

I must apologise for this being a quick post as I'm sooooo tired right now, have to sleep........!!

Good luck everyone. When I wake up a bit I'll re-read all recent posts to see where everyone's at. xxx

bossyboop · 26/07/2010 17:32

I stopped after cd12 too as mid cycle tiredness crept in and well after that i kind of abstain as an alternative to waiting with baited breath, then as we get to the last week of the cycle I get my drive back! One suspicious boob is very swollen looking, loving the pre af boobs ive had since coming off the pill. My weakness in life is chocolate and have plenty in the house but not bothered at all, only having some for the sake of it and even then not a lot as not enjoying it...oh how exciting!

bossyboop · 26/07/2010 19:38

well loo update from me cd24 red, bloody discharge. Last month bled from cd17 to cd30, that started as pink tinged cm then brown then proper af started cd31 which i actually counted as cd1 for this cycle so although im thinking this is early for af it could actually be normal after what happened last month. Its a shame though as caught me by surprise, apart from the boobs had no other af symptoms not even any cramps or brown spotting so its a shock, not upset or anything just miffed i wont need to poas! Guess the teeny bit of beige cm could have been in place of my usual brown spotting if this is what normal officially is after the pill. See how it goes...
