30s TTC - Butterdish Smashing World Record Attempt

1000 replies

PollyPoo · 18/02/2010 12:20

Line up, line up for the world record attempt for most dropped butterdishes per fred.

The bar is here, along with squishy sofas, some fluffy beanbags, low lighting, and most important of all, free booze.

I have installed some naked waiters (Morgan from being human, together with Russell Howard) - they have trays of champagne cocktails that can never run out, so dig in laydeez and lets make this a fred to remember.

Lorry droid will NOT appear in Glastonbury wk as you will be up the duff by then!

I also had big downer about fertility clinic, followed by big high cos they were positive about helping us. Then I got a big crash cos I just wanted to be able to do naturally without any interferance assistance. Bah I just want my baybee now any which way.

Sorry about droidage BESHlets.

Sorry about droid arrivals... it sucks. And especially for those who have taken up residence in the Pit.

Well: despite the many warnings on here from wiser folks, I have been doing Stupid Things.

11 dpo today and I decided to test with FMU. Boyfy is away, and I had a leftover test from when I tested while in the UK a couple of weeks ago (thought I was late at the time, had actually not ovulated yet, cycles are mad. As am I). Anyway, this morning I was really just testing for the sake of it, no symptoms etc; mad at myself for even doing so, but did it anyway. The control line came up straight away and I couldn't see anything else so left it on floor and went away to empty pee cup. Came back and took it into bedroom for another squint in the daylight. Thought I could now see something. This was certainly within 3 minutes. Resolved itself into a very faint but, I think, pink line. It is definitely there. But thinner than the control line and definitely very faint. I have no second opinions available sadly. No-one here I can show it to.

Bought another test on the way to work - I'm not in the UK, so they are different brands and wildly expensive. Anyway, I asked for a sensitive/ 4 days before one. Managed to wait about two and a half hours in total before peeing. Was by then desperate to go and could not hold on any more. Anyway it was unambiguously negative. No doubt about it. No line of any kind, faint or otherwise.

Now I am feeling miserable and have a vile caffeine withdrawal headache and am afraid to drink a coffee just in case.

Please give me a good shake and give out to me for being a loon. Gah. This is awful. Surely the first one was an evaporation line - otherwise I guess there should have been something (however faint) on the second one (brand of second was "Predictor". Brand of first was Superdrug own brand).

Bessie123 · 01/03/2010 10:36

I found predictors aren't as sensitive as the own brand line ones. Test again tomorrow. A couple of minutes seems a bit early for an evaporation line...

ChoChoSan · 01/03/2010 10:56

Hmmmm, Witsend , I think 'false' negatives are much more common than false positives - evaporation lines are not super common, and (I think) come up after some time...have a look on peeonastick.com, or whatever it is called. bet you is diffed...

Bad luck Meds...

Well, as anyfuleno, I am not having treatment this month so not strictly SWI-ing, though having lots of SW-OI anyhow.

Bizarrely, my tits have blown up like two beachballs since Saturday, even though I was only 15 days into my cycle! So much so, that I am bursting out of my DD bra (that I bought before realising I was diffed in the past)..which I use as a 'control' when woofling (tho' never filled it since past diffments).

Obviously can't be diffed...prior to the weekend's shag-fest we had only had sex once since period finished, and that would have been at about CD9, and I am only on cd18 now, so even the most menkul of woofl-ers couldn't claim symptoms. I think I must have ov'ed mid week last week, as by the time I got out the OPKs, the line was fading daily. It seems my ov'ing has started to occur earlier than it used to (I was always CD17/18 in the past)...wonder if its the progesterone. Freaky.

I should weigh myself really - think I have been putting on a bit, so perhaps it's just hit my tits!

skihorse · 01/03/2010 11:05

Where are you somethingwitty? Perhaps I can help... I'm a wandering gnome.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 01/03/2010 11:12

Hi Skihorse - I'm in Belgium. No idea what are good tests here. I just know they are a crazy price!

skihorse · 01/03/2010 11:19

Yep, I hear you. OK, have you tried Di or Kruidvat? They're slightly cheaper - I'm just over the border in NL (where at least we have Boots!) and there is just no such thing as a cheapie - singles are 8 euros and a 3-pack of CBD is 20 - so sometimes you're better off buying that. I always used to get my bargain beauty stuff in Di at the bottom of De Broukere metrol. Btw, as you're in Belgium - fancy a Benelux BESH/PESH meet? Maybe we could drag cheggers along?

GrumpyGasper · 01/03/2010 11:24

wittyone. I would trust both FMU and Superdrug. The neg on the second test can certainly be explained by not using FMU.
Superdrug tests are good. See what you can get a hold of and test again tomorrow/the next day (if you wait a couple of days, you'll get a clearer result). Looks good for you though.

Hope the rest of you get some good news soon. cho all your tit talk is making me salivate... gi's a grope!

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 01/03/2010 11:24

So you're in NL! That's funny !Sounds liek you were in Belgium too at some point? Thanks for the advice. I'll try Di as you suggest and see what they have. Meh, feeling definitely sceptical now though after the messing around with different tests and different results. Meet-up sounds good BTW.

skihorse · 01/03/2010 11:27

witty Yep, I spent 6+ years there and sold my house (oost cantons) about 18 months ago to move back to NL. The FMU/which test thing is just a way to fuck with your head - if it's a BFP then it'll come up on virtually any test pretty soon. What day are you? I used to test really early and drive myself insane with it all. We could meet in Liege and hit up the maternity section of new Look.

ChoChoSan · 01/03/2010 11:28

Warm your hands Scrumpy...there's plenty for everyone!

Headbanger · 01/03/2010 12:19

In haste.....witty I know your pain. I did another (S/Drug) test this morning. Spent ages holding it up to the shaving light above the mirror, but definite NOPE. Then I put it on the floor. Then something about the way the light caught it made it look like a faint line had appeared. It hadn't.

ANYWAY I gather from my insane googling that false positives are really rare and that even v faint lines are good noos, so am hopefuly for you pal.

Meanwhile I went to cheer myself up with an extraction facial. No, that's now where your fella pulls out and jizzes on your face. It hurts, people: OH it hurts. I now have a scarlet sore face, PMT tits, and babyfail. Hoopla!

Headbanger · 01/03/2010 12:20

now

not where

RunLyraRun · 01/03/2010 16:11

Hellloooo???

laurielou · 01/03/2010 16:23
Ocarina · 01/03/2010 16:27

Helloooooo

Is everyone busy working hard out there? I decided it was far too nice a day to spend it all sat inside so went out for a walk in the snow (and glorious sunshine). Only problem is that walking means space to think, which currently seems to mean thinking about all things ttc/baby related. My head seems to have been taken over and I don't know how to get it back.

Now to do some more work.

Ocarina · 01/03/2010 16:28
GrumpyGasper · 01/03/2010 16:58

'ello. did somebody mention cream cakes?

RunLyraRun · 01/03/2010 17:27

Been working like a real working person today - which always makes me feel guilty about how little I usually do.

Sorry about the droid lolly

I prolly won't be around much for next week or so - Dad is having half his liver removed on Weds so I'll be hanging out with him and mum.

This is complicated by the fact that he has surgery 250 miles away from home, so mum and I will be shacked up in depressing travel lodge, going back and forth to hospital at visiting times, and trying to keep ourselves occupied during the operation itself. Husband can't get time off so won't be with us, so it will be 4 lonely nights during prime SWI'ing time for Lyra.

Sick dad + major operation + travel lodge in crappy town + babyfail =

GrumpyGasper · 01/03/2010 17:30

Oh poor you lyra. I really hope it's all worthwhile in the end and your dad can get better. Just remember that you always have the strength of BESH behind you. we'll be thinking of you. Noone should have to suffer everything you've been going through AND a Travellodge

Ariesgirl · 01/03/2010 17:38

That sounds ghastly Lyra, but your mum and dad are lucky to have you. Wishing you and them all the very best.

Medee · 01/03/2010 18:10

Sorry to hear the droid reached you too Laurie

Thinking of you Lyra

I have spent less of today baby-obsessing, and more telling my boss I am interested in the Australia thing. He's totally cool with it, eek!

Headbanger · 01/03/2010 18:27

Lyra, A thousand sorries and consoling head-butts to you. Here's hoping the universe rewards your superb daughtering with a baybee-win.

Medee - hm, all very thrusting and optimistic and mature of you! I've got rellies in Oz. Every winter they like to taunt me with incredible pictures of them hiking along coastal roads with breathtaking views all around, getting freckled and lithe and bonny. The utter bastards. But lovely plans to think of!

TwinkleToes76 · 01/03/2010 19:10

fucking buggering droid, and a 23 day cycle . Bah! Off for a very tropical holiday next weekend for 3 weeks so that is some consolation!

Hope next week goes as well as it can Lyra.

Muser · 01/03/2010 20:08

Bah to the droid again. Both Australia and tropical holidays sound fab.

I appear to have entered the proper bleeding stage of this treatment. It's entertaining trying to judge what is "too much" bleeding and what is not. I am so glad I took this week off. I feel crap all over again.
