Hi all, old and new, this is the thread where all moaning, pieces of tmi, discussions and virtual cups of tea and biscuits come together to keep us sane .. or at the least insane together!

Clareanna - thanks for teh company! We seem to be going through v. similar things. I hear you on the red wine thing too. Am all over the shop with pmt kind of feelings but nothing doing. Am emotional. It didn't help with the fact that am staying at BIL's house and DS (2yo) has massive constipation and was in children's hospital this morning having been crying with a stuck poo since last night. I've been trying not to weep in front of him for his sake.

MrsG. How awful for you. I hope you're coping.

hippychick66 · 19/02/2010 14:37

My goodness this is a busy old thread - which is good cos there's lots of company but also sad that so many of us are suffering.

So sorry to hear your awful news mrsG, hope they give you all the answers you need. Make a list of questions incase you just get too emotional and forget it all.

I agree with clareanna I want to stop bleeding and get back to normal but also keep thinking "I'm not pregnant!" and finding it so hard to believe.

Liaghen good luck with finding out if this is all real. You must be feeling about a million emotions at once - I know I would be.

All the best to all xx.

Goodluckbear · 19/02/2010 14:51

Just popping in as I sit here with my cup of tea and cookie from Ben's cookies (don't know if that's just a local shop or a chain? Best cookies ever though). It's teatime ladies - get the kettle on.

Liahgen - keep us posted, are you going to get a blood test done today? I hope, I hope......

Weekend is nearly here!

xxxxxxxxxx

AlbaDeTamble · 19/02/2010 15:22

So excited for you Liahgen! Hope your GP can do blood tests.

Clareanna, I got a comment similar to your mum's from my boss less than a week after ERPC whilst still on sick leave.... 'I guess you need to wait a while before trying again, still, at least you can do lots of practising' And she's almost always incredibly politically correct. I didn't know what to say. Lucky for her it was by phone

antibiotics doing their job at last. Just v tired now from sleepless night.

Pollybloodyanna · 19/02/2010 18:14

ooh fingers crossed Liahgen!

I also got the "it's not a real baby comment". really helpful that.

Had some bleeding today again - 19 days post mc - it stopped very quickly, but I wish I knew what was going on!

Cheepz · 19/02/2010 19:47

oooooooh liah bump me off the bottom please fingers crossed for you - it took about a week and fifteen internet cheapies before I was convinced and accepted I am pregnant, still doing cheapies now just to reassure myself, once back from Scotland will do a digi to get an idea on weeks as it was wtf cycle so don't know exact dates.

alba agree the 'practising will be fun tough eh wink wink' is the one that gets me - no it bloody isn't fun because all the fun has gone down the toilet to be replaced by a desparate desire to get pregnant

i also had - well when its so early theres no heartbeat is there ... sooooo there would have been!

hope all you other ladies are doing ok, this thread is brilliant, grads thread is lovely too, its a really good support system and as viv said, its only the people who have been there who can really understand

Moofold · 19/02/2010 21:17

Evening everyone. Hello to all the new girls and hugs to all those who have had bad news last few days or just feel shitty again. Totally empathise with the advice to the newcomers that one minute you feel like you are on top of your emotions again only to be knocked right back down again. I was congratulating myself on Wednesday for getting through a whole day without crying and now am really low again. Also empathise with the excessive red wine consumption - just a few glasses most evenings to take the edge off it! Really handy for TTC - except that's not possible in the absence of bloody ovulation which has still not happened by CD31.

Other words of wisdom that spring to mind include 'don't worry, you'll have another baby' (yes, but I desperately wanted this baby) and 'at least you are only 3 months, you wouldn't have wanted to lose the baby at full term'.

Had a new experience at work. 2 colleagues asked if i could join them in a meeting. I come into the room and they both have serious faces like something awful has happened. So I'm wondering who is ill, whose partner has left them etc - bracing myself for terrible news. Except it was only to tell me that one was pregnant, almost apologetically. Then I had to congratulate trying to beam away while fighting tears at the same time. Then I feel like a total ogre where friends are worried about telling me their good news.

Hey ho. I'm away back to my red wine! Hope it is good news for you Liah!

sparklyrainbow · 19/02/2010 21:23

Hello, (sadly) I'm new. (Sorry for rambling that follows)

I started to bleed Sunday, spent Monday am being investigated then told mmc, then bleeding started properly, back to hospital Tuesday by ambulance as couldn't cope with severe pain/blood loss. Had blood test yesterday for thyroid and stuff, think this is my 2nd mmc- nurse was kind which made me cry again, not sure I can cry much more. Then was reduced to a complete state again today by the dog catching the end of her ear and bleeding everywhere (she's fine now after vet glued it).

Anyway really wish I would stop bleeding, just desperate to get back to something approaching normality, though think I am going to take a few days off work next week (teacher so half term this week- can't wait for the 'how was your half term?' conversations).

Re. the 'helpful' comments, my best so far has been 'well at least you won't need a maternity wedding dress now' (getting married in May), have heard a couple of the others as well.

Someone please tell me this all gets easier? TIA

Gi1da · 19/02/2010 22:23

Oh lovely. I'm so sorry. Do give yourself some time next week. I've just been in a similar situation and have needed this whole week to go through ups and downs and just to rest. I think there are easier days and totally pants days. But you're not alone and we understand. Hope you have lots of support at home too. x

Icedlemonmuffin · 19/02/2010 22:53

Sorry that your here Sparkly Its been nearly a year since my mc (including near death experience) and all I can say is take each day at a time and as my dh says all the time 'be kind to yourself' .

Cry lots and don't aplogise about it, talk to dh or the wall, I found I sometimes just needed to talk about how unfair it was and still is.

Most days I'm ok it's just when I find out someone else is pregnant that I get down. My friend told me the other week she was pregnant for the third time, I am happy for her but I just want it to me , so I came home phoned dh and cried and just reading the threads and seeing graduates gives me hope.

Sorry if I have gone on ! Your not alone

clareanna · 20/02/2010 00:04

Evening all- well, AF finally arrived- actually now feel relieved to be off the WTF cycle and get ready for the future. Think the wait is far worse than anything else.

Total damage - x6 ovulation sticks and x2 pg tests, pretty restrained eh?!
We'll be on hols at key time next month, so feeling optimistic- plus it's the weekend, woo hoo!

lia quietly excited for you.

So.. My stats (scared of list so if someone with better counting skills than me wouldn't mind...)
TTC#2 UCL 35 CD1

clareanna · 20/02/2010 00:09

dirtgirl I've got a DS who is 2.9 and we'vejust had the opposite- he's been dry and potty trained for about 5 months, but over the last few weeks gas been wetting the bed and having poo accidents. I'm sure it's a reaction to us and particularly me being so sad recently- they def pick things up
hope he's feeling better soon

Dirtgirl · 20/02/2010 14:11

Thanks Clareanna - he's running around now like a mad thing, happy as larry. The hospital gave him mega laxatives and they did the jobby so to speak.

northlondonchoclover · 20/02/2010 15:32

Anyone P-ing OAS this weekend? I've got one calling to me in the cupboard and trying very very hard to resist

shinysideup · 20/02/2010 15:37

Hello ladies, can I join you?
I MCd at end of Jan at 9 weeks (medically managed) but had suspected for a while before that that things weren't right.
I have no idea where my cycle is. Getting BFNs on pg tests now (at last - never thought I'd be pleased to see that) and -ve OPK. Thank the Lord for internet cheapies or we'd be remortgaging by now. SWI at regular intervals just in case. Well, you never know and time is not on my side.
I feel the need to do something to help things along so have booked for acupuncture next week. Not usually my thing at all but I'm at the stage of being ready to try anything.
This is my first MC - does anyone have any experience of how long before cycle returns to normal after a medical management?
Liaghen - am keeping everything crossed for you.
Can someone add me to the list?
TTC#2 UCL 25 cycle WTF

clareanna · 20/02/2010 16:39

Hi Shinysideup, sorry you've found yourself here, hope you are doing OK?
I don't think there's any hard and fast rule as to when your cycle will return to normal - it's really frustrating waiting for it to happen. I had an ERPC and my first period was roughly a nomal cycle length, (which was a relief) however I did about 6 OP sticks and have no idea when I ovulated, as the cycle felt very different.
This thread calls it the WTF cycle - which is probably the most accurate way I've ever hear it described as because you honestly don't know WTF is going on!

Moofold · 20/02/2010 17:28

Hi Shiny - sorry this has happened to you too. I can vouch for the WTF uncertainty. My period arrived 5 weeks after the ERPC but was very light and short. I'm now having a second WTF cycle being at day 31 with no ovulation or temperature increase or sign of AF. I am actually willing the arrival of AF to start using the fertility monitor I purchased.

Its all very frustrating when being pregnant again is all that's on your mind. Hope you are muddling through alright

hippychick66 · 20/02/2010 19:52

Quick question for those who had an EPRC. Sorry if TMI!!!

Is it normal to have shooting pains up the backside?? Just before a bowel movement I had terrible shooting pains. And even though I've cleared that particular blockage I still have a shooting pain up the 'jacksy' if I sit down hard.

Also when I wee, as my bladder empties I get a shooting pain up the 'fandango'. Is this all ok or should I be worried. I seem to remember pains a bit like this after the birth of my children and also after a laproscapy where they lightly nicked my bladder. Not sure whether to speak to NHS direct.

Sorry to use such childish words - I'm 43 but still feel too silly typing sensible terms like vagina and anus!!!

AlbaDeTamble · 20/02/2010 20:47

Hi Hippy - that doesn't sound much fun... I know I was feeling a bit of discomfort when I had my bleed a few days ago, no shooting pains at the time, and the consultant gave me antibiotics just in case, told me to take them if the discomfort got worse or didn't go away -- developed to agonising bladder infection that night (at least I think that's what it was), shooting pains and no way to get comfortable at all, and the antibiotics have now cleared it up, and boy was I glad I had them. There is always a risk of infection after ERPC, some hospitals give you antibiotics as a matter of course, they don't here and maybe you didn't get them, so I would call out of hours GP if I were you. I had a scan too to check nothing left (which there wasn't) which they may want to schedule for you early next week.
Good luck and I hope it doesn't get any more painful for you.

AlbaDeTamble · 20/02/2010 20:52

sparklyrainbow and shinysideup welcome to the thread we'd all rather not need... but are hugely grateful for now we do. So sorry you ended up here.

It does kind of get better, in a two steps forward one step back kind of a way... but can't pretend there's any magic wand. As icedlemonmuffin says, be kind to yourself, it does help.

AlbaDeTamble · 21/02/2010 09:11

Morning after Cheepz's kind vote of confidence I thought I'd have another go at the list last time for a while probably as back to work tomorrow, so MN from my phone, not laptop, so my posts will get a bit shorter!

Liahgen still crossing my fingers for you -- you've gone very quiet, I hope all ok? Hippy have added you onto pending stats, looks like you've well and truly joined the thread
Been back a few pages to check for updates, hope I've got everyone at the right place now clareanna your post with stats was Saturday, but just past midnight, so I'm guessing Friday was in fact CD1?
northlondonchoclover have you tested? v close now... and moofold and lucyt66 and unbuffy... where's underneaththestream got to? Hope all ok....
(I'm getting excited for everyone else this month, I'm on the list just to check how long my cycle is this month - given up trying till next month given that I'm now on mega strength antibiotics...)

Morning Alba, thanks for the list. No need to get excited for me - you must have missed my posts bitching about having a 2nd WTF cycle and no ovulation/ temp shift yet. I'll probably be at the top of that list for a while to come yet!

Hippy, had an ERPC but no pains like that experienced. Definitely get that checked out.

Have a good day everyone
