Hi all, old and new, this is the thread where all moaning, pieces of tmi, discussions and virtual cups of tea and biscuits come together to keep us sane .. or at the least insane together!

OP posts:
Meita · 03/02/2010 17:01

Hi ladies,

just wanted to drop in to let you all know that I had my 12-week-scan yesterday and all seems to be fine. So here's hoping that this one might actually work out I can't believe that it has been less than two months since I got that BFP!

So sorry for all who joined this thread recently. I hope you find it as supportive and helpful as I did. I've got to say I don't know what I would have done without this thread and all the lovely ladies on it! Thanks oodles to everyone.

I suppose I can't deny anymore that I am now truly a grad. But I certainly will keep dropping in and lurking to see what's up with all of you. If you miss me come find me on our grads' thread... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/812791-Totally-39-s-GRADS-lets-handhold-thru-this
Also any new BFPs from here are always more than welcome!
Fingers crossed for lots of sticky near-future BFPs

clareanna · 03/02/2010 20:23

Yogamat - I know how you feel. I had my ERPC 2.5 weeks ago, and if you'd told me a week ago I'd be ready to TTC again I would have thought you were mad, yet here I am wondering if it could be possible already.

Dirtgirl - hope you are feeling better today, best to jsut go with how you're feeling sometimes

Muser and pollyanna - sorry to hear your news - looks like there are lots of us newbies to the thread in the same boat

Viv - sorry it wasn't your month, jsut want to say I think that advice is some of the wisest I've heard through all of this

Boodle - I've had the pulled muscle in chest from vomiting before - really painful poor you.

I could also do with some ovulation advice I haven't had AF since my ERPC, but yesterday had pains on left hand side only in my abdomen and brownish discharge (sorry TMI) for the day. Do you reckon that was my mittel thingy?!!

randomimposter · 03/02/2010 20:41

meita lovely news - I will pop over to the other thread but feel a bit odd doing so - until I'm at your stage...

boodle and tfls sorry you've been suffering.... know what you mean, though boodle think you're trying to out-trump us... . Louisesh, love that you're still POAS....

cheepz an afternoon with estate agents.... mmmm, think I'd rather shag John Terry... actually no on second thoughts... . Good news on valuations!

pollyanna yes I am in Brighton - you too?

Hi all - who's going to be our first Feb BFP?

WestYorkshireGirl · 03/02/2010 20:55

Anyone any advice on when AF tends to resume after mc? Been waiting for mine so can re-start TTC efforts, but no sign?

Muser · 03/02/2010 20:56

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm not really ready to go on a stats list. Need this to all be over before I even think about that. Plus I have no idea what cycle I'm on now!

Did my final blood tests today, just to make sure things are doing what they should. Nurse was meant to be calling me tonight but think they must have got caught up with an emergency.

Unbuffy · 03/02/2010 20:57

Hello there, any chance I could join in a little? Have read whole thread due to boring and depressed day (this vol only though!). MMC found last Mon at 12 week scan (except it was 14 weeks, Christmas got involved. It's complicated...) I had an ERPC last Tuesday - no time to assimilate what's going on at all. No idea what my stats are except 8 days from erpc, and 1dd already. No idea as to usual cycle length - would welcome suggestions if it's not tmi / too boring to rant talk about it...

Recognise some of you ladies from m/c threads (waves)!

UnderneathTheStream · 03/02/2010 21:44

Waves to unbuffy

Quick question ? does anyone know how long the tiredness/dizziness lasts after a miscarriage? I am 3 weeks on and had to leave work early today because I was so tired I couldn?t think?.

Thanks

Cheepz · 03/02/2010 21:48

WYG varies depending on when your mc happened in your pregnancy, if it happened early - up to 6 weeks ish then most likely you will have either a normal or slightly longer than normal length cycle. For example my first mc happened 5+5ish and my next cycle was about 30 days, just a couple longer than normal. The recent mc was only at 4 +3 and I ovulated 16 days later so would expect AF CD30 - 2 days late agin unless we hit the jackpot straight away If it is later or medially complicated it can take longer - think the longest was apples (now a grad) who had 70 days and meita had a long one too - maybe 50 days?

Muser perfectly understandable, the way we tend to work out cycles is for the period from mc to first AF = WTF cycle - largely because you don't know whats going to happen with ovulation or AF, then once you have AF cycle 1 is the first cycle after that and so on. We can just leave you on the pending list if you are happy to reside there until you feel ready xxx big hug

unbuffy welcome 14 weeks must have been very hard, stats wise you would be ttc#2 UCL? cycle WTF CD8, next time someone does the list we can drop you on it if you like but like muser if you are waiting thats fine too. Sorry sounds like you have had horrible time of it, and over Christmas is wrenching. x

VivClicquot · 04/02/2010 09:21

Gosh, yet more lovely people joining our lovely thread. It makes me grateful we've got this little haven, y'know - knowing it's helping get through a really shitty time.

Anyway, welcome unbuffy underneath I can't help on this one I'm afraid as physically, I was 'back to normal' (if that's the right phrase) within days of my ERPC.

Morning everyone else xx

Unbuffy · 04/02/2010 09:27

Feel a bit like the lonely kid in the playground tbh saying 'can I join your gang? I've gotta great collection of scabs'. daft i know...

underneath, dunno that it's much help as i'm only a week after erpc but i still feel wambly as hell and absolutely knackered all the time.

oh well, off to take dd swimming - time to get wet and cold but she'll get tired and then I can sleeeeep! x

SarahMumtoAlex · 04/02/2010 09:31

Yes underneaththestream you seem to have a had a relly bad time of it physically perhaps you should check with NHS direct to see if its what they expect, and to find out when you can expect to be back to normal. The emotional pain is bad enough, hope your feeling stronger soon.

welcome unbuffy sounds like you've had a really tough time too - hope you get some support here.

yogamat I really hope I didn't come off undermining your need/desire to start trying. I think most people here felt exactly the same way and it really comes off for some people.

I've been really amazed at how long its really taken for me to properly accept that I did miscarry, twice. Hope that, having done so, I can move forward

good luck to everyone, sorry not to namecheck but really pleased for those graduates and hugs for the recently grieving.

Hopefully · 04/02/2010 10:08

BFN again this morning. Not quite sure why I tested as have no symptoms at all and BFN situation unlikely to have progressed since yesterday. Am a bit [sad[, but was expecting it as don't think I OV'd this cycle. So much for most MC fertility

Welcome unbuffy, sorry you've found yourself here but do make yourself at home.

Will track down the list in a sec...

Hopefully · 04/02/2010 10:15

Unbuffy I've popped you in the main list as on CD9, hope that's ok.

'When the pain of not trying hurts more than the fear of trying, then you know it's time to try.' Thanks for sharing that VivC.

Deffo true in my case, although must admit if I did actually get a BFP I would still be absolutely terrified

Hello newbies, hope this thread helps you at this horrible time xx

littlemiss72 · 04/02/2010 11:51

Hi girls, hope your all well.

Back from the hospital ERPC tomorrow morning at last, dreading it but know it's also the only way I can move on.

Not ready to join any sort of list at this point understandably but thought I'd say hi as you seem like a smashing bunch!

Unbuffy · 04/02/2010 12:01

Oh God, introduced to someone this morning as 'expecting no. 2'. Had to say 'not any more', smile and smile and grit teeth but am now home and feeling a bit cut up. Don't even know how she knew...

snf sorry end of self-pity.

Good luck Littlemiss, it'll be worth the horror of hospital to get a fresh start. It'll be cathartic and emotionally devastating all at the same time, probably, so take care of yourself both before and after. x

SarahMumtoAlex · 04/02/2010 12:34

Oh unbuffy how awful! And how brave you were to be able to respond without just crying. My last mc was in September and I'm not sure if I could deal so gracefully. I hope that whoever was so insensitive has learned a lesson about being more careful with other people's news.

Goodluckbear · 04/02/2010 13:12

Hi everyone, and hi to newbies - Unbuffy, I nearly cried for you at that, how hard

For the post ERPC - my mate had one last year and she was fine within days, whereas I had one nearly four weeks ago and had diarrhoea for nearly 3 weeks (from antibiotics my GP thought) and have been generally run down. I'm now in fourth week and perking up quite a bit. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is expected the unexpected, and go easy on yourself if you don't feel 100% straight away, I think it can take time (but do go to your GP if you aren't getting better).

By the way, in RL I can hardly say "diarrhoea" without going bright red, I explained it to my GP and he was taking my blood pressure at the time and remarked that I seemed to be a little stressed. To be honest, he was the best looking guy you can imagine (think of a young George Clooney) so it was hardly surprising that my heart rate was up, talking about poo doesn't help does it?! Thank god for MN where I can bore you with TMI....and you can't see my red face...

xxxxx

louisesh · 04/02/2010 13:16

Hi to "newbies" sorry for what you ve experienced.

Hope everyone else is well i m fine only managing to post infrequently as now need a new battery for our laptop soo not really working properly atm.

Off to Chester tomorrow for the weekend with sister ,bf and my DH YEH!!!!

Nothinh happening here just plodding on 5 weeks now soo too early for anything to happen yet. Will arrange an early scan in 3 weeks time, still remain philsopical what will be etc.....Don t see how its possible to get excited at 4th pg but no dc to show for it!!!!

How are the rest of you new bfps doing?

Unbuffy · 04/02/2010 13:46

Goodluckbear - did I read (pages and pages back!) that you lost lots of weight and had the dire rear after erpc? Cos me too... It does clear up then? (hopeful face?) Although I don't mind the weight loss quite so much...!

Goodluckbear · 04/02/2010 14:22

Yeah, the weight loss was a real bonus - unfortunately weighed myself this morning and it's all gone back on, typical!! It does clear up - I googled like mad on this - it's the antibiotics they gave you in the op (and also if you like me took a week course of them afterwards), plus apparently the general anasthetic can have a similar effect. From the point I noticed it, it took about 2 weeks & 3 days to clear up (obsessive day counting) but I didn't help it by eating and drinking like a loon. I bought some of those Actimels (£4 for two packs of 8 bottles in Waitrose I think) which have the probiotic or whatever stuff - don't know if it helped - I had two a day. Probably just made me feel like I was doing something about it - bringing back the good bacteria or something. Tasted nice at least.

The doc said to go back if it didn't clear up after 3 weeks, so, in the end I didn't have to go back. Hope it clears up for you soon too - it was so depressing, constant reminder that all is not well, hope you feel loads better ASAP.

We could start up a separate thread to specifically discuss diarrhoea!! On second thoughts....no.....

xxxxxxxx

Unbuffy · 04/02/2010 14:34

nah, I can't spell dire rear anyway.

barrenbrook · 04/02/2010 16:10

This thread is so busy, I can't keep up... welcome to all the newbies yogamat, muser, pollyanna & dirtgirl. Hope I've not missed anybody.

Meita Good to hear from you, so pleased to hear all is well with you and that the scan went well. Splendid news indeedy!!!

Boodle Sorry you've been feeling crap but it can only be a good thing, even though it probably feels completely crap for you! Hopefully you won't be feeling too poorly for too long and you can embrace organic, sandal wearing, pregnancy to the fullest.

Hopefully sorry about the BFN, it's not over yet though... sit tight, I have fingers crossed for you.

Viv Sorry about your BFFN. Feel that is far more suitable than BFN! Hope you are OK.

Jollster RUDE MW! I hope she felt suitably embarrassed! Good to hear all is going well though, when's the scan? Think TFLS idea of ringing EPAU to ask for one is a good'un though.... worth a try to put your mind at rest.

Cheepz will make sure I post more regularly so your list OCD doesn't take over and I get deleted!!

Run With you on the being terrified when we finally get a BFP, (are you liking my positivity!!) completely natural though to feel like that, but you are most certainly not alone.

Goodluckbear & at your diarrhoea story at the Drs. Glad to hear you are starting to feel better.

No news from me, still have sore boobs, although not as bad, no cramps, no bloating like usual before AF and no bad skin. I feel a bit sick now though but I think that it more due to the fact that I've just eaten three packets of iced gems!!!

I've bitten the bullet and made an appointment for DH and I at the Dr's on Monday, hopefully it will mark the start of something positive happening.

Hello to everyone else

barrenbrook · 04/02/2010 16:12

and welcome unbuffy I knew I'd miss someone, forgive my jellyheadedness

just1moreplease · 04/02/2010 16:30
