Hey, WeeTiger we are now cycle buddies! We'll be able to travel together!

I have to say, once I'd ovulated last cycle, I didn't once feel as though the March bus would be the bus for me...maybe the April bus is the one!!

Gingerbics · 01/07/2009 16:14

Can I jump aboard too? I'm TTC#2, cycle 5, UCL 30-31.
Just got BFN today and was a bit gutted so crossing all my crossable bits for us all for April babes.
Remeber when I actually got my BFP with no1 I was completely convinced I was coming on and did for a while after my BFP,so basically my signs of pregnancy last time were same as a period coming.
Anyway, hope everyone else is survivng the heat, I feel a minimilk or 5 coming on!

tostaky · 02/07/2009 08:38

Gingerbic - welcome!
Im like you about pregnancy symptoms... For DS i didnt test until i was well a week late because i thought it would be my periods!

Received my new lot of cheap ebay opks yesterday by post and going to indulge in POAS every day from now!!!

Gingerbics · 02/07/2009 20:52

Thanks Tostaky! Not sure what strategy to take this month, tried the 'try shag at least every other night last months' and it nearly killed us so may just focus on around when the sticks say yes. Whats everyone else doing. Still waiting for AF to arrive, just want it out of way now I know I'm not up the duff!
Hope everyone gets some kip tonight. My DD aged nearly 2 woke at 4am and couldn't get her back to sleep so off to bed in aminute, hoping tonight will be better.

Zoomum · 02/07/2009 20:56

Hello I am trying to conceive but I don't understand what ucl and cd and all the other letters mean, can anyone enlighten me??

Gingerbics · 02/07/2009 21:11

Hi Zoomum, welcome too. Its all a bit confusing eh. Here's a link to explain all those abbreviations.
www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

sweetkitty · 02/07/2009 23:07

Welcome zoomum - you will soon be speaking the MN lingo like a pro, a great site I have used in the past is www.askdramy.com very good for general TTC info and for when you are most fertile check it out

CD5 here nothing exciting happening here may purchase some ebay cheapies HPTS and OPKs

sal1309 · 02/07/2009 23:11

hi everyone just wondered if i could join you all ive been ttc for 18 months now for no2

all the lingo on here is very confusing lol but im sure i will get used to it.

sweetkitty · 02/07/2009 23:18

TTC = try to conceive
CD = cycle day
UCL = usual cycle length
LP = luteal phase time being ovulation and period starting
OV = ovulation
HPTs = home pregnancy test
OPKs = ovulation predictor kits
ebay cheapies = tests bought off ebay that are £1 for 1000 and drive you mad trying to work out if you are actually pregnant or not
CBD = clearblue digital the "daddy" of HPTs, gives the very nice and cleat PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT, cost a fortune hence use of ebay cheapies first
AF = auntie flo or period
BD = baby dancing/having sex/shagging etc
mc = miscarriage
mmc = missed miscarriage where no bleeding or any indication of mc is apparent until the scan {sad]

hope that helps

sal1309 · 02/07/2009 23:27

cheers for that sk

sweetkitty · 02/07/2009 23:29

tostaky · 03/07/2009 13:30

mmmhh...
according to my previous cycles, to fertility friend and to opks i am not fertile (ov due end of next week)
but my cerivcal fluid looks like watery/eggwhite which would mean "fertile"... better BD tonight then....

Poppyjen · 04/07/2009 18:24

Hi there, I'm totally new to this so please bear with me!

Here goes with those acronyms.....

TTC number 1 (no hash key on my stupid american keyboard) Cycle 1 UCL 30-35 CD 27 (I'm on day 27 of my cycle at the moment, is that right?)

I am 27, and I came off the pill (Yasmin for PCOS) in June, had my withdrawal bleed on 8th June and my DH and I have been trying ever since

I used the clearblue ovulation tests and had a positive on Sunday 28th June and Monday 29th, this along with all the usual intimate observations (that only those of us in this position understand!) seem to indicate that I did ovulate so fingers crossed!

I know that it is extremely wishful thinking to think that it may happen for us on the first cycle but I can hope! If I get a BFP next week then I guess technically I should be on the March bus, but I thought I would cover my bases

Thanks!

cangaroo · 04/07/2009 18:57

Hi everyone,

Welcome and best of luck to all of you newbies.

I was just wondering if anyone could enlighten me about early symptoms of pregnancy? How soon could you expect to get symptoms? And which would be the first ones? I know that nausea is a big one, but how soon would this kick in?

I don't expect to get pregnant on my first cycle, but have found myself monitoring my body trying to detect things! My sworn promise to myself not to get too obsessed doesn't seem to be working.

Thanks!

Poppyjen · 04/07/2009 20:05

I can totally concur with that Cangaroo!

Beanmum · 04/07/2009 21:20

Aah symptom spotting... Well I have no idea. I had nausea, tender breasts,metallic taste in mouth and just general feeling that i was pregnant well before period due when we conceived ds (without having to try). However, i've been showing all the same symptoms and been equally convinced for the last couple of months, and got BFNs (well OK 1 BFP that quickly turned into a BFN) So who knows??! I think if you want it badly enough your mind can play tricks on your body.

I've run out of CB ov sticks and haven't had a +ve yet, but feel like i've ov'd, so just beginning the 2week wait - any suggestions for avoiding unhealthy obsession with abdominal twinges and pee sticks gratefull received.

gratefully

Beanmum · 04/07/2009 21:58

Actually this is my 1st time trying ovulation sticks and I don't think i'll do it again - not for a few months anyway. I find it's not helping on the obsession front and it's making the whole process more stressful than it need be. Anyone else had this experience? Might just leave it down to lucky timing. Hmm.

Sorry, just rambling on because I'm procrastinating - supposed to be writing a paper on this balmy saturday evening
