Hi have just added myself to the list, periods have returned today after nearly a year of BFing, littleonemum, we are cycle buddies this is the 5th time I have TTC feel like an old timer lol

porcupine11 · 29/06/2009 08:47

sweetkitty, did you have to completely stop BFing or did they come back anyway?

sweetkitty · 29/06/2009 09:52

porcupine - DD3 is 11 1/2 months and still feeding quite a lot at night, I am probably feeding her 6 times a day still although looking to cut this down. With DD1 my periods were back 6 weeks after she was born, DD2 11 months. What age is your LO and how muh are you feeding? I was told that if you leave a gap of 4-6 hours between feeds it can trigger ovulation

LittleOneMum · 29/06/2009 09:58

Hi Sweetkitty,

Yes we are cycle buddies and am feeling like a real old timer myself! Mind you it took me 6 months to conceive DS1 (now 21 months) so I figure I can't get too upset. Gave up breast feeding at 3 months so can't really help with the ov tips...

LittleOneMum · 29/06/2009 09:59

But lucky you only having 27 day cycle!

sweetkitty · 29/06/2009 10:02

Well I am hoping it's a 27 day cycle as that is what it has always been pre DC but who knows at this game eh?

Took me 9 months to conceive DD1, one month DD2, one month DC3 (mc) and one month DD3

Beanmum · 29/06/2009 10:02

Update for today. Rach - welcome on board. a lot of the abbreviations are a mystery to me, but dh is dear husband and on the list, ucl is usual cycle length + CD is cycle day - add yr figures below!

Welcome sweetkitty - congrats on the return of af.

Re telling people about ttc - I've been mentioning it to a few friends only and boring dh stupid with it. It's difficult not to go on about it to everyone as it occupies so much brain space though...

grinningbee · 29/06/2009 11:14

Hello!

Mind if I step on the bus? I have a 12 week old dd, and as time is marching on (will be 39 in Nov) and had a previous mc I'm thinking I can't start early enough for number 2.

Stats are a bit difficult as I'm bf, but I'll give it a go:

grinningbee ttc#2 cycle 1 ucl 32 cd pass

Possible tmi, but ttc is a little uncomfortable (actually really painful!) as I had a 2nd degree tear and an episiotomy, but no pain, no gain!

missiek · 29/06/2009 11:44

hi ladies, just hopping on after AF got me on Saturday. Have updated and added myself on. sweetkitty and LittleOneMum we are cycle buddies , good luck everyone, let's hope the April bus is as lucky as the March bus! Anyone got any hints and tips, what I should definitely be doing to improve our chances this month? Seems a silly question, but maybe there is something sooo obvious I'm just not doing it? I'm trying the opk tests and also cough medicine for EWCM, although not sure about temps.

grinningbee Only 12 weeks!! you are very brave!!
i dont like telling people we are ttc-ing because they tend to judge you (esp other mums) like it is mad to want a small age gap so i just keep quiet

My DS is 7 months and i stopped bf about 3-4 weeks ago. i feel quite liberated now i have to say and ive got my periods back. i was on the pill before so i dont know if i could have had my periods earlier...

porcupine11 · 30/06/2009 09:18

I am jealous tostaky, I want to give up BF.

May have made some progress last night, fingers crossed... DS usually feeds 3-4 times a night, but yesterday fed just once at midnight and then not at all after that. He didn't even want his 7am feed. I don't feed in the day any more so that will be almost 20 hours between feeds - enough to kickstart my body into ovulating action I hope!

idealcamel · 30/06/2009 11:27

Hello all

Nice to see the bus population getting bigger! Am trying to confine my ttc discussions to mumsnet and lovely husband, but is tricky.

I'm relying on the Persona thingy that I bought - that and having lots of sex! - this month. Can't quite be fagged with the temping, but do like the whole POAS routine. It's like pregancy tests without something screaming BARREN! at you.

welcome fellow April busers

grinningbee - yey here's hoping this is a lucky bus for both of us and at 12 weeks and TTC again well done you

CD3 here nothing to report, I have some poundshop cheapie HPTs already I am so glad for MN and TTC theads it's insane TTC isn't it, everyone thinks I am stopping at 3!

NancyPreg · 30/06/2009 22:00

I've had a scan through the thread now and grinningbee you are a very brave lady to ttc with a 12wk old baby !!! Who knows, you could end up with two DC in the same school year .

I never talk about ttc to anybody in rl (apart from my dh!!). If friends ask me about having any more dc, I just give a very vague reply and change the subject! In fact, if I do succeed in keeping hold of a future pg, then I wouldn't tell anybody in rl until after the 12wk scan anyway

miissiek interesting theory but bd for 7 consecutive days ....hmmm, not sure I'm up for that

A brand new cycle for me and I have my gynae appt. on 21st so that should be interesting!

I'm another eBay cheapie OPK user and they always seem to pick up my surge mid-cycle...but they are not so good at predicting whether the egg will be fertilised or not
