Hi all - thought I would start this as it would be great to haveothers to share this with.

This is me:

me:28, dh 37, dd 3.9, ds 2.1!
ttc no. 3 since aug 08
mc sept 08, dec 08
UCL 34 days
1st month of CBFM currently CD12

Anyone care to join me..??

wishingwell · 28/03/2009 07:02

Great thread! Thought I'd join you anyway even though I won't be able to use the FM until AF is here which can be another 4-5 weeks away.

This is me:
ttc no. 2 since nov 09, dd 14 mths
mc feb 07 and mar 09
ucl 28 days? varies since dd

Wanting a second dc very badly but absolutely terrified of another mc. Was going to wait till AF gets here to try again but been thinking we might try if I ovulate before 1st AF. But then I read that risk of another mc is high if body physically not ready. So not sure what to do... we'll see what happens in the new few weeks.

Good luck with the CBFM-have you got any High/Peak readings yet?

WW

timmette · 28/03/2009 07:44

Hi everyone and thanks for starting this thread.
Like WW I also have to wait for a few weeks before I start using it - but I am here to support you in the meantime .

me 29, dp 29, ds 3 on Mon.
ttc no2 since Dec 08
1 mc

Ilovebeingamummy · 29/03/2009 09:24

Hi both

I am also terrified of another mc.

I had one complete cycle between my mcs last year and felt maybe my body wasn;t ready. But I was also still breastfeeding and (despite the evidence) think maybe my body just didn't want to do both. I hope I will never know - I guess if I have another mc now I am not feeding I can stop blaming that.

Having said that I have a friend who conceived 2 weeks after her mc and had a healthy baby. I also have friends who have conceived whilst feeding and its not been a problem for them.

Well CD 14 today and still low readings on the monitor. Sorry tmi... but cm confirming that so far. I am predicting ov between CD17 -21 going on last 6 cycles (I am always 34 days - even post mc) so hoping the monitor confirms that and psyching myself up for all the bding next week!

Sorry to hear about your losses too - lets hope we can support each other for some CBFM BFPs! x

Nothing much going on in WW world the past few days. Was supposed to go in today for a scan at the EPU to check that everything is gone but I cancelled it as I felt I wasn't ready to see an empty screen...Besides DH is away on business so will have to be there on my own and just didn't fancy that.

Hope this is not TMI but been having strange CM the last few days- watery almost egg white mucus on Sun. Wondering if I could be ovulating/close to ovulation already?? Used an OPK (cheapie ones from ebay) but it's negative. Wondering if I should bother testing further as DH won't be back till the weekend so no chance of BD anyway. Wasn't expecting AF for another 4 weeks at least based on past experience so not sure what's going on here??

timmette · 31/03/2009 09:44

Sorry WW no help to offer. Nothing much going on here either but I have bought my cbfm so it should be here in a few days and that is giving me hope. It may be ovulating - but I am so not an expert on these things - maybe someone will come along with better ideas. I really can't wait for AF it will at least be a sign my body is working again .

londonlexi · 31/03/2009 13:21

Hi all, I'd love to join you. Here's me;

me; 39 (old bird compared to you others!), DH; 38, dd 2
ttc no. 2 since June 08
m/c oct 08, Mar 09
UCL 30 days
1st month of CBFM currently CD20

The most recent m/c convinced me it's worth spending all that money on CBFM - conceiving seems like all i think about at the moment, not healthy i know. CBFM and acupuncture make me feel a bit more in control of the situation.

Had an early m/c (5 weeks) last month, but have decided to treat it as a late period and have not waited and tried again this month. Hormones are less developed in early (chemical) m/c so it's easier to do this.

CBFM has been really useful straight away, got high readings 3 days before 2 peak readings, which coincided with ewcm, and enabled me to plan a bit (dh works away a lot). B/d as instructed (poor dh has tonsilitis so had to perform virtually with a bag on his head!!)

WW - it's worth monitoring ovulation even dh is away so you can plan a bit better every month. Sorry to hear about m/c - how long ago was it?

Good luck everyone xx

wishingwell · 31/03/2009 15:39

Hi londonlexi interesting to note that you can use the cbfm monitor immediately after mc. Did you wait till you get a negative HPT before using the monitor or you treat 1st day of mc as CD1? I mc exactly at 6 weeks couple of weeks ago and now waiting for af so that we can try again. With the 1st mc af arrived after 7 weeks so I was expecting the same but feel encouraged now that there is a possibility it might turn up in a couple of weeks. DH is not mad keen on ttc before af as he's worried my body might not be ready but I think he can be persuaded . Think you are right, I will keep on testing with the cheapie OPK strips and also bbt charting. At the very least it'll tell me how my body is doing. Good luck-hope you'll get BFP!

Hi there, I have been using one for over a year.

Am not sure if I have to stop now, as I have been prescribed Clomid. Does anyone know?

Ilovebeingamummy · 31/03/2009 16:58

Hi londonlexi - hope your experience with CBFM goes for me too - I m on CD16 of usual 34 day cycle and hoping monitor will coincide with my prediction of high/peak from tomorrow til Sat. I will be devastated if I don't get any peak readings as we have ended up solely relying on the monitoring and only really bding twice this month so if I've ovulated and it hasn't shown me we are bound to have missed it.

Of course not ovulating at all would be worse....

Oh the joys of ttc. I am now just paranoid we are relying too much on the monitor....the next few days should tell!

Beanieb I'm afraid I don;t know - does the website or instruction booklet say anything about it?

londonlexi · 31/03/2009 16:59

Beanie, sorry don't know about Clomid, but have a look on CBFM website, there's a lot of info there.

WW, it doesn't recommend using the monitor straight after m/c but mine was so early I did anyway, and it turns out my cycle is pretty unchanged. I counted day 1 of m/c as day 1 of af - next day got negative hpt but knew what was happening from mumsnet research!

The Miscarriage Association say there's no evidence of increased m/c if you conceive again next cycle, however lots of people advise you to wait. I just felt that advice generally seemed more down to dating issues than m/c risk. I also felt at my age it was more important to crack on, my clock is ticking loudly (I'm nearly 40)! I guess it's up to how you feel - if I hadn't got a bfp (not early - 2 days after due date), I honestly wouldn't have known a thing and thought it was just late af, so felt confident moving on.I think the general opinion seems to be earlier the m/c less impact on cycle.

I'd say do a mumsnet search and see what other people have decided to do and also look at m/c assoc advice. Then you'll just have to convince dh! X

londonlexi · 31/03/2009 17:08

ILBAM - one thing I saw from previous CBFM user threads was to dip the stick in urine for 15 seconds to get best results. Bit of a pain but you soon get used to it.

I'm sure it hasn't missed it, but try monitoring cervical mucus as well. Tmi coming here, but after a bowel movement wipe front separately and look at cervical mucus on toilet paper - when it goes like egg white you're building up to ovulation. Took me a month or so to realise what I was looking for but you'll know when you see it. Hopefully you won't need to do it as cbfm will tell you, but I felt reassured that cbfm was correct as natural signs were there when monitor predicted high fertility.

As you can see I spend far too much time on mumsnet at the moment, but might as well share my discoveries if it helps!

wishingwell · 31/03/2009 17:09

Hi beanie I'm afraid I can't help you, sorry. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along and shed some light for you.

lexi I was still getting weakly positive HPT a week after mc and can't make myself test again as it was too painful emotionally. I'm fairly certain it should be negative by now so will just wait patiently (if I can!) for af's visit. Can't believe I am actually willing it to come quickly this time- makes a change from the usual monthly dread during the awful 2ww .

ILBM wishing you luck for the next few days. Hope you get the peak readings anticipated. Fingers crossed for you.

timmette · 31/03/2009 17:51

Oh no I'm not very good at catching pee .
Beanieb/londonlexie - do I have to wait for my first af to begin using when I get it.. can you tell I am impatient - lol. It just feels like the first positive step in months.

beanieb · 31/03/2009 18:17

Hiya Timmette, yes you have to wait and turn it on and register your first day on the monitor, then wait until about day 6 before it starts asking for you to pee on the sticks! Good luck x

Ilovebeingamummy · 01/04/2009 10:24

Thanks ladies for your thoughts.

Still low fertility on monitor CD17 today but i guess there is still time. I might start dipping for 15 secs rather than peeing for 3 then if it has better results!!

londonlexi Thanks - I have been doing the CM monitoring since my first mc in Sept 08 and it is showing signs now of being fertile ewcm (so bd last night anyway- tmi!) but as I say monitor still saying low....

The irony is that I got pregnant 1st month of ttc in sept and I had no idea of my cycle length so guessed at 28 days and actually got a bfp despite having been 6 days out! Just goes to show sometimes ignorance can be best.... too late now though LOL

beanie have you seen this

OP posts:
beanieb · 01/04/2009 12:00

OMG - that was me with a different name! Ha Ha. I got that off the internet but it was so long ago. I should read my own advice!

londonlexi · 01/04/2009 12:50

What happened to Steve, Beanie??

timmette · 02/04/2009 06:50

Yay - af has arrived . My body is working again - was so worried my body wasn't working properly. Now I can start ttc again. Although the cbfm hasn't arried yet .

wishingwell · 02/04/2009 09:42

for you timmette. Out of curiosity how many weeks did it take to arrive? I'm getting a bit anxious about mine as thought I was ovulating/close to ovulation at the w/end but so far the LH strip came up negative and my cm is almost dry... I really want af to come (WW stamps feet!). Have a good day everyone.

WW x

timmette · 02/04/2009 09:46

Hi WW - 4 weeks today exaclty since I had erpc - I had a very slow miscarriage that had me bleeding for 8 weeks so they did the erpc to give me a clearout litterally. Not sure if I ouvulated in those 4 weeks, I did a few ovulation tests randomly over the last 4 weeks and they were all negative too. But at least this is a start.

Ilovebeingamummy · 02/04/2009 21:04

LOL beanie that is funny! Thought it was quite a co-incidence!

Well my monitor still saying low on CD18. Starting to panic now that I am either not ovulating - or I am going to run out of sticks before I do.
Sticks will last til CD27 of 34 day cycle - am I likely to ovulate that late do you think?

I would have thought not but I am beginning to doubt everything I thought I knew - was certain I ovulate CD17-21 but not even high yet let alone peak.

Do you think it is common to stay low all month??

[slaps self] as only CD18!

OP posts:
Ilovebeingamummy · 03/04/2009 21:40

STILL low today

How are you all?

OP posts:
timmette · 04/04/2009 07:05

Ilovebingamummy - have you tried dipping your sticks - I have read on a few places it gets better results - might be worth a try?

londonlexi · 05/04/2009 07:46

ILBAM, i agree with Timette, dipping gets the best results, and i think you said you had ewcm so it may have missed it.

I'm depressed today, got my af and it's only day 25. I'm hoping it's just a one off after my early m/c last month, it's just double depressing coz 1) i'm not pregnant and 2) 25 day cycle is rubbish and couldn't really get pregnant anyway.

Anyway, Timette, glad you seem to be back to normal . Bit of a pain the cbfm hasn't turned up. I think you can still start it up to day 6 of cycle so hope it turns up tomorrow.

Think i'll cheer myself up with massive greasy breakfast this morning
