Hello everyone, no tickets required, just jump on the TTC Bus, and let's hope we'll all be getting off at the November Stop.

Add your name to the list as follows:

For anyone not familiar with the acronyms....that's what number child you are tring to conceive, how many cycles you've been trying, what day you are on, and what your usual cycle length is.

can i join?

going to the dr today as i was told my last cycle was a 1 off and i would return to normal but it hasnt as yet.. havnt even ovulated (afaik)

violetbubbles · 03/02/2009 09:06

Hey amanda12 & welcome back monkeybumsmum

Thanks to everyone who shared their prenatal advice. There's lots of conflicting information on all the websites and it can get a bit confusing so it's great to be able to get advice from all of you lovely ladies! And I'm loving the idea of eating a bowl of ice cream every day - thanks scarlotti!

Georgimama - good point about the Wellman vitamins - I hadn't even thought about getting vitamins for DH - will pop into chemist today.

I think I'll make an appointment with GP like fatandiknowit and monkeysbummum did - only ever seem to go to the doctor when there's something wrong, so it will be nice to pop in for a health check up - trying to be proactive rather than reactive!

I've cut coffee from my diet too louisann - was drinking about seven cups a day before Xmas!!! Drinking lots of herbal tea now, as I heard green tea and raspberry tea are good for TTC. Still having the odd cup of Tetley though...Trying really hard to cut out booze too - have only had one glass of wine and a shot of Kahlua with milk since New Year! It's hard in social situations though...

Anyway, I hope that if you're snowed in you're enjoying a chilled out day in front of the TV with a big mug of hot chocolate. If, like me, the snow has turned to slush where you live, then wrap up warm and enjoy the fresh winter breeze!

scarlotti · 03/02/2009 10:23

Morning ladies

Well it would appear the gods are smiling on me today. DH had to go into work which meant I had to stay at home to look after DS as nursery was understaffed. Cleared that with the boss as long as I do some work, and then found out more staff had gone to nursery so DS can go there. Hurrah! Can now do a few hours work and then enjoy some peace at home. DD is home but she's 14 so amuses herself nicely.

Now where's that tub of ice-cream and the Bridget Jones dvd ....
(scurries off for a spoon ignoring the pile of work on the side...)

monkeybumsmum · 03/02/2009 11:19

Oooh Scarlotti can I come round for some ice-cream and Bridget Jones please Sounds like a wonderful afternoon!

Well, AF has arrived one day early and with a bang! Hooray!!! Am now OFFICIALLY starting to ttc again Just want AF to be over now so that we can get on with the business

Has anyone ever taken pregnancy vits and then extra folic acid on top? Have read about some people taking extra folic acid so wondered how it was done....

scarlotti · 03/02/2009 11:40

Come on over - plenty of room on the sofa and lots of extra spoons!

TickysMum · 03/02/2009 11:46

Scarlotti thank you SO much for giving us the link to the article. Am gonna stack our freezer full of ice-cream. Bring it on! Seriously, you could have hit on the reason for my infertility/no cycle. My diet's probably too low-fat (hated my post baby tummy - and always got the feeling DH wasn't too keen either!). Forget that - am off to raid the biccie tin - TTC could actually be fun!

violetbubbles · 03/02/2009 12:30

Hey TickysMum - I read an article a while back about replacing the low fat products in your diet with good fats. So, I've added stuff like avocados, brazil nuts, walnuts, olive oil, olives and some good cheeses to my diet. I used to be super-obsessed with not eating anything that didn't say 'fat free' or 'diet' on the label, so I'm enjoying this freedom with food.

Bridget Jones and ice cream - now there's something I'm adding to my to do list for the weekend, along with lots of BD-ing! .

fatandiknowit · 03/02/2009 13:23

Stupid Question BUT:

What would the problem be with caffeine and TTC.

I don't drink tea or coffee but drink about 8 cans diet coke per day

is this a REALLY bad thing? If so then I need to wean myself off fast!

Hope you are all having a good day - my office is a bit more denseley populated today anyway!

scarlotti · 03/02/2009 14:37

Don't know - didn't know there was an issue whilst ttc. Know you should drop it down once pregnant to max 2 cups a day.

I haven't stopped drinking coffee!

georgimama · 03/02/2009 16:20

I just googled caffeine and infertility and got loads of scary scholarly links.

Found this which is a bit easier!

vtiredmummy · 03/02/2009 16:46

Hi all, have joined from the September thread. DH and I were going to give it a break for a while due to recent DH redundancy, but both want #2 so much and hope that a BFP will help to focus his mind into finding a new job even quicker

Welcome over from October Bubble - sorry no BFP or even AF. Where would you like adding onto the list ? What did the doc say ?

MBM glad AF arrived, those CD days will move quickly now ! Very exciting.

FatandI not sure about the caffeine link. I don't do any coffee or fizzy drinks, but a fair amount of tea. My trouble is wine !!

Also hello to Vtired - sounds like you are having a rough time at the moment with DH's redundancy. Good luck this month - for everything.

Scarlotti have you got any grapefruit ice cream ? Might be a good one for the bus

I got the Wellman vitamins today. 3#2 in Boots ! I also bought some conception care & then didn't know what to make my third choice. I thought it would be nice to buy pregancy care but did't want to tempt fate so then picked another box of conception care but wouldn't want to waste them.... so picked up another Wellman ! Anyone else suffering from what I am now calling Pregcastinating ?? ie. Don't book holiday just in case, don't buy new clothes just in case, etc etc

Hi all...

fifi dr has reffered me for a scan and some blood tests. she didnt seem to know when to go for them tho gave me a choice.. that day (yesterday) wait for a positive on an opk or wait for af and go?? not too sure what to do. just hope that my cycles get back to normal soon.

does anyone know where i can see a medical herbalist?? i wanted to try agnus casteus but advice has been not to self medicate and to see a medical herbalist first.

ive added myself into the list. im cd32 but def not pg so if i ever get lucky then it could be nov or dec.

Hey girls - hope I'm not ruining it by languishing at the bottom with a big zero next to my cycle. Last time AF showed up was 12th Jan 2007... But feeling v positive now I'm on my ice-cream diet

Just wondering how MensaReject got on with the consultant?? Hopefully no more clomid flushes...? x

Koumak · 04/02/2009 12:04

I would like to join you all but not sure if I belong here or not. Can somebody please help me with the dates as with our DS we were really lucky and he is what they call "accident" so never had to worry about any of TTC. We are trying for number 2 now. My period was on 21 Jan. Length of cycle I used to think was 28 but now looks more like 30-32. Does this mean end of Oct or early Nov?

monkeybumsmum · 04/02/2009 13:43

Good afternoon all

Koumak Yes, I think if you did get pg then it would be due at the very end of October/beg of November - of course you belong here Also, if you have an average length luteal phase (time between ovulation and AF (period)) then you may be ovulating in the next few days so happy bd'ing

TickysMum Hope the ice-cream diet works, I must check out that link! Poor you not having had AF since then, and no you are definately not ruining the list! Hope you get lucky soon!

Went to docs for some blood tests this morning, and will get the results in a few weeks. I almost don't want to know the results!

Hope you're not too tired after your long day Fifi...

Hi all, can I join too?
have been wanting to try for number 2 for ages but we have notbeen financially secure enough (recently moved to new country too) but DH had some great news with regards work yesterday and suggested we "make a baby".. I am so excited! The first one just happened so this will be the first time that I am trying, as it were, so not sure where to start! (except for the obvious)...

QwertyQueen TTC#2 Cycle 0 UCL 28 (I think)

Must go and research the really basic stuff now.....
