Hello everyone, no tickets required, just jump on the TTC Bus, and let's hope we'll all be getting off at the November Stop.

Add your name to the list as follows:

For anyone not familiar with the acronyms....that's what number child you are tring to conceive, how many cycles you've been trying, what day you are on, and what your usual cycle length is.

Well, I'm out this cycle (as expected) but could still (very hopefully) just be on November bus with next cycle. Will have to move down the list!
Not sure if I'm supposed to copy and paste the list myself, so ignore this if it doesn't work. Hope I've done it right!

Sorry AF got you skibelle better luck this cycle.
hopefor I've read some posts where people have said they have had that kind of CM every time they've been pregnant, and it really got me hoping last cycle as I had it too, but AF still got me - earlier than ever in fact, just a 24 day cycle. Hope it's a good sign for you but don't put too much hope on that alone.

scarlotti · 19/02/2009 21:59

hopefor - have you ovulated yet? If so, then your cm will get creamier and then stickier. If you are before ovulation then it could be that you're still a few days away.

Just saw you're on clomid - sorry, don't know what effect that might have. Am sure there are other ladies here who can help

TishB · 19/02/2009 22:53

Congratulations slipofthetongue how wonderful - well done and good luck with your pregnancy, do tell us how you're getting on though!

georgimama we both had our last test over 7 months ago...DH sperm count/motility weren't great but he had another test 3 months later and it was deemed that altough the count isn't great it's sufficient...i guess once the new clinic accepts us for treatment we will both have to have several more tests in order for them to determine which treatment plan to go a head with IUI, IVF or ISCI.
I have read the booklet they gave me the other day giving details about each of these, it seems if the sperm count isn't great and motility isn't great ICSI is a better option.

Sorry if I'm being thick but what is metformin for? I have already had clomid..

TishB · 19/02/2009 23:03

tetley, ForcesSweetheart & Devongirl welcome aboard...and sorry AF got u skibelle

am off to bed...feeling quite bloated - signs of AF, been bad-tempered and ratty for past few days too - PMT got me bad this month!!

nite nite all and lots of babydust x x

violetbubbles · 20/02/2009 09:43

Hey everyone & happy Friday!

Tested this morning but got a BFN! Which is cool cos we've only been trying for a few weeks! Does mean that my AF is v late though, which is a worry! Last period was 14th January. Wish AF would just show up when she's supposed to!

Will keep you all posted!

georgimama · 20/02/2009 09:58

Metformin is a diabetes drug but it is also helpful for women who have PCOS (like me). It helps regulate various hormone mechanisms which affect the length of the luteal phase and also cervical mucus (sorry! TMI!). It also helps keep weight down by regulating blood sugar - women with PCOS tend to be overweight and that has an impact on fertility in itself.

We were going to go for ICSI if we'd got that far as my understanding is it is more likely to work - the sperm is directly implanted in an egg, rather than being put together in a petri dish (more to it than that I am sure!) in IVF.

Sazlocks · 20/02/2009 10:00

Hi everyone - my tests finally burnt a whole in my drawer this morning but I got a BFN but I am wondering if I have tested too early at 24 days and should try again in a few days.
Have had lots of "symptoms" so am either pregnant or am going to have the AF from hell this month
Happy nearly weekend

Sazlocks · 20/02/2009 10:01

hole - not whole - obviously !

Koumak · 20/02/2009 10:17

sazlocks i think 24 is too early but hopefully few more days should do the trick

violetbubbles you know what they say negative can always be wrong...

georgimama · 20/02/2009 10:17

Sazlocks, sorry to hear that. I do think CD24 is much too early though, unless you have a very short cycle.

violetbubbles · 20/02/2009 10:48

Thanks for the positive thoughts Koumak.
Was a Clear Blue Digital Test though so I'm pretty convinced I'm not pregnant. Will test again on Monday, which will be CD 40!

nunnie · 20/02/2009 11:07

I want to test but it is far too early, and all the symptoms I have can all be explained with other causes.

Like

Expanding belly (too juch comfort eating).
Feeling sick (same as above).
Heightened sense of smell (house just stinks).
Sore nipples (bra rubbing).
Metallic taste (melted filling).

Koumak · 20/02/2009 11:40

I say those are pretty clear symptoms nunnie fingers crossed fo you and others testing this weekend!

nunnie · 20/02/2009 12:09

Koumak, this weekend is still early for me, my AF isn't due to rear its ugly head till the 25th.
Do people get sore nipples when pregnant, or just sore breasts? I can't remembe if I did with first or not.

I am still drinking coffee, so I don't think I am. Unless there is anyone on here who went off coffee with first but not second! PLEASE SOMEONE BE THERE!

Koumak · 20/02/2009 12:15

sorry didnt meant to push you into anything! I was just thinking about the "early" tests work fo your? I thought that they work -3 days?

Koumak · 20/02/2009 12:17

[Koumak leaves her PC as getting addicted] but she really wants some lunch and hopefully going out for lunch with girls from work BUT will not tell them anything?

hel9a · 20/02/2009 12:44

Hello everyone, I just read what you've all been thru this month and it makes me feel a lot better about what I've just been thru.

Those of us who have AF, should get a bus ready for December - I'll be the first on it. In the meantime, we can enjoy a little drink, go and get our hair dyed, drink coffee, eat soft cheese etc etc etc (We can, can't we?! or am I worng about that too?)

Anyway, for those of you who're interested, I didn't hop on this November bus 'cos I only just had my coil (non-hormonal) taken out on the 10th of Feb (CD28-ish) so it seemed I'd have missed my chance this month. But then after valentines w/end, I got all sorts of strange symptons (swollen tummy, sore boobs, implanting feeling - I'm sure!! and even nausea, a metallic taste in my mouth and hypesensitive to smells!) I've spent all week thinking "Oh my god, I'm pregnant! but if I am, the eggs must have been floating round inside me for days and can't be much good..." and then also trying to hold on to it... walking around delicately trying to hold onto whatever mught have managed to implant inside me..."

Anyway, I just spent the last two days trying to convince myself that the AF which has arrived is just spotting... LOL, I have really lost the plot already.

See you on the December/ good luck to those who are still on the November bus.

nunnie · 20/02/2009 13:07

Koumak Sorry, didn't mean to imply you were pushing me, I just don't want to do a test until AF is late, don't like the early test thing too uch pressure and at least if I leave it till after and it is neg I can't tell myself it is because I did it too early, if that makes sense.
Have a lovely lunch.

nunnie · 20/02/2009 13:08

hel9a, sorry AF arrived grrr the AF I say. Hopefully won't see you on the DEC bus but don't take it personally.

We all have to remain hopeful.

scarlotti · 20/02/2009 14:25

nunnie - what day are you planning to test? AF due for me on 26th or 27th but I might well crack earlier than that and use a first response as they're supposed to work from -4 days
Would be nice to have someone to wait to test with to try and keep myself sane!
Had tender boobs yesterday but not today. am starting to wonder if I'm just imagining any symptoms as there aren't any others coming up, sigh.

Violetbubbles - I had 2 BFN's before my BFP when pg with dd so hang in there x

nunnie · 20/02/2009 14:28

scarlotti, I am AF due 25th, so if doesn't come I will test 28th next Saturday. I will let you know if AF doesn't come, and we can wait to test together. DON'T YOU CRACK SOONER!!
