Hello everyone, no tickets required, just jump on the TTC Bus, and let's hope we'll all be getting off at the November Stop.

Add your name to the list as follows:

For anyone not familiar with the acronyms....that's what number child you are tring to conceive, how many cycles you've been trying, what day you are on, and what your usual cycle length is.

Good morning ladies,

Make it non-alcoholic cocktail for me thanks
I found out that I am indeed pregnant last night.
I wasn?t going to test this early but I didn?t have a choice. On the way from work yesterday I kept vomiting on the tube! How embarrassing.
I just kept on vomiting and in between apologising to people that I am pregnant. Funny I didn?t mind telling strangers I didn?t want them to think that I was drunk!
So got home and did the test it was either that or food poisoning

Update for today

removed myself from the list

fatandiknowit · 18/02/2009 08:57

Quick question for you all...

I'm presently on the 2ww and have had chronic tonsillitis since last Thursday - because of this I have been prescribed penicillin and have taken a number of over the counter remedies also.

In the remote instance that I did conceive prior to being ill would these medicines have any affect

To be honest though I think I was ill over my most fertile days so think I have missed this cycle - still with only a 25/26 day cycle I could still have a late November baby next time...

Any advice appreciated as I wouldn't want to cause any problems if I were PG

amyboo · 18/02/2009 09:04

Congratulations Koumak! That's great news - although not so great about the vomiting on the tube I guess! I'm halfways through the 2ww.... Trying hard not to think about it.

scarlotti · 18/02/2009 09:13

Congratulations koumak - our first graduate!!
Let's hope the vomiting eases off for you as that's not nice.

fatandknowit - I had to go to the docs on Monday to get antibiotics and said we were ttc, he said that the ones I have are used within pregnancy so not to worry. If you're concerned then I'd get in touch with your gp or phone nhs direct.
Remember though, most pregnancies aren't planned (despite how this thread seems!) so most mums take things during the 2ww and probably for another week or two after without even realising, with no ill effects.

I got roaring drunk a few nights before I found out I was pg with ds as we'd assumed that it was a no as my pmt seemed to have come back - he's fine so no ill effects there.

violetbubbles · 18/02/2009 09:13

Congratulations Koumak - that's brilliant news!! So, so happy for you! You must keep us informed of EVERYTHING. How do you feel today? How many weeks PG do you think you are?

Thanks to everyone keeping their fingers crossed for me! I think I'm too scared to test at the moment. Frightened that it will come up negative, terrified it might be positive. I'm sure you all know what I mean...

MissieMoosMummy I had a period after I came off the pill at the start of January but didn't use 'OPKs' or 'temping' to predict ovulation...I did, however, use the dates in my diary to try to predict ovulation and made sure we BD-ed on those days.

Sorry, fatandiknowit, I'm not sure if taking those medicines will have an adverse affect. I hope someone out there can offer you some good advice!

Had bloods taken yesterday, by the time the results are here, AF should have arrived or be lurking. At least if it comes, the results might shed some light on the matter for me.
Congratulations Koumak

Koumak · 18/02/2009 09:32

Thank you all! Feeling ok today but I have not eaten anything yet! Not sure how many weeks I am (last period 21 Jan - so 4 weeks? But realistically about 10 days but I wasn?t checking my ovulation or anything like that) and due on 30 October (wrong thread)!!! But my ds was 2 weeks late so should be born in November after all - if all is well...
violetbubbles I admire you willpower
nunnie sorry for getting your dates wrong
fatandknowit i dont think anything you have taken so far will have harming effect over the counter stuff is pretty safe
Fingers crossed for everyone it won?t be long now

violetbubbles · 18/02/2009 09:54

fatandiknowit - found this on a site I was browsing:

"Can anything interfere with home pregnancy test results?
Most medicines, over-the-counter and prescription, including birth control pills and antibiotics, should not affect the results of a home pregnancy test. Only medicines that have the pregnancy hormone hCG in them can give a false positive test result. A false positive is when a test says you are pregnant when you're not. Sometimes medicines containing hCG are used to treat infertility (not being able to get pregnant). Alcohol and illegal drugs do not affect HPT results. But women who may become pregnant should not use these substances".

Copied from www.4woman.gov/faq/pregnancy-tests.cfm#f

Hope that helps

nunnie · 18/02/2009 10:34

Koumak, you didn't get my dates wrong, it was me, I think I have had my dates wrong sice day one, I am no good at this counting thing
I am really happy for you, it is nice to see a happy ending, it gives me some hope

Koumak · 18/02/2009 10:38

t least you are one day closer!
just had a look at the list and there are loads of ladies who could be testing already. any more?

fatandiknowit · 18/02/2009 11:13

Thanks for all the lovely reassurance everyone - I'm sure I missed any likely days anyway as BDing really has been the last thing I have felt like doing over the last week!

Congratulations Koumak

bubblebell1 · 18/02/2009 11:32
