Hello everyone, no tickets required, just jump on the TTC Bus, and let's hope we'll all be getting off at the November Stop.

Add your name to the list as follows:

For anyone not familiar with the acronyms....that's what number child you are tring to conceive, how many cycles you've been trying, what day you are on, and what your usual cycle length is.

FifiOK TTC#3 Cycle4 CD1 UCL 28

Hello (nervous laugh emoticon)

Can I join? Have finally decided to take the plunge. Not sure how it works - can someone join me? What do we do on the site if (all fingers and toes crossed) it actually works?!

I'm Little One Mum, I'm TTC#2, Cycle 1, my UCL is 30. Is this enough?

FifiOK · 13/02/2009 12:09

Johana yes jump on board, the more the merrier just add your details in. Maybe I should send this list through to some head of midwifery type person to give them a heads up or least put a block on any midwives taking hols in November . Welcome too latestarter sorry AF got you but enjoy the champagne. I'm on 2WW but will probably indulge a little anyway.

OP posts:
scarlotti · 13/02/2009 12:40

Fifi - I'd say go for it. Takes 7 - 10 days for implantation after conception so you'll be fine

Can you tell I've been propping up the bar for the whole bus ride....

georgimama · 13/02/2009 12:46

I'm kind of on 2WW I suppose but still at it (sorry TMI) in case I have a long cycle this month.

Wish I could find the diary I kept when TTC DS as it would tell me how long my cycles were when on Metformin.

Have decided I am going to test on 25th if no AF by then - that will be CD30 so even a cheapo test would give an accurate result for me then I would think.

I do remember my LMP when DS was conceived was 28th May and I tested on 4th July, but that was afer deliberately waiting. I knew had suspected I was PG for about a week by then.

georgimama · 13/02/2009 12:48

Just worked out that was day 38! Don't know how I lasted that long...

Has anyone else decided on a test day?

georgimama · 13/02/2009 12:50

LIttleOneMum, there are antenatal threads for each due date month so we can join/start the November one if it works! If not we start/join the December thread.

scarlotti · 13/02/2009 12:57

Just a quick post to say have a wonderful weekend ladies - we're away for a few days not so might not get the chance to log on.

Wishing you lots of cards and choccy's tomorrow!

monkeybumsmum · 13/02/2009 13:07

Oooh Happy Valentine's weekend everyone Love the idea of lots of conceiving going on tomorrow night, wouldn't it be wonderful!

Scarlotti We are in sync - dh and I started bd'ing last night too, and a 'romantic' night is planned for tomorrow too, and Monday! When we were ttc ds dh said he felt like a piece of meat, but after almost three years of hardly any sex due to pregnancies/knackeredness/life he's so keen that HE ambushed ME last night! Hooray! My not so subtle hinting might've worked
Have a lovely few days away, is this a V Day treat?

Violet any news??? You have so much self restraint if you still haven't tested Is very impressive!

georgimama Wow re day 38! How on earth did you do that? I would have had to handcuff myself to something to not test... Saying that, I can normally tell whether I'm pg or not, from around 10 DPO. Then I POAS as much as I can until I get a +ve. I've no willpower me.....

nunnie · 13/02/2009 13:35

Is that true about the alcohol thing? I have been avoiding alcohol when AF not here, but I have some lovely chocolates for tonight which will go down really well with a glass of red. Argued most of this month so think I missed my fertile bit anyway. I am on cd15 of a 28 day cycle can I have that glass do you think?

nunnie · 13/02/2009 13:39

Does anyone else feel like this ttc may be taking over their life? Uptill last month, I never thought about it, just did it when we wanted and were enjoying ourselves. Last month started getting strange feelngs and symptoms and thought we had done it, but alas it wasn't meant to be, now this month it is all I think about, I have started checking my fertile period on a calander and getting all obsessive about it which led to us arguing throughout me fertile period I have an appointment for blds on the 22nd but I am tempted to cancel as I think it will just add to my obsessiveness and maybe try and go back to just enjoying ourselves and if it happens then yippeee.

Anyone else feel like this?

TickysMum · 13/02/2009 20:12

Hi girls, had a miserable week - the consultant seemed to despair of me, couldn't shed any light on where my cycle has gone and reckons IVF is the only solution. Which kinda throws me off the Nov 09 bus :-(....although I'll hang around at the bar for last orders (you never know that ice-cream diet might suddenly pay off and I'll ovulate tomorrow!!). No harm in dreaming.....x

PS Any top tips on getting DS to take Calpol - or any medicine for that reason - have just put him down with a raging fever as he refuses it, or throws it up if I force it down. Agh.

JumpingJellyfish · 13/02/2009 21:12

Tickysmum- so sorry the consultant couldn't be more optimistic Really hope they're wrong though- definitely stay on for last orders, you just never know your luck.

RE giving meds- try putting it in a syringe (the nurofen ones are good) and squirting it into the corner of his mouth/cheek area and make sipping noises while praising him all the time. If you keep the syringe in his mouth for a few more seconds after dispensing the calpol it makes it more likely he'll swallow it. Explain also that it's nice medicine that will make him feel better. You can always then offer a bribe of a choc biscuit(!) afterwards if he swallows it nicely!! (our DD (19mo) has lots of meds- many vile tasting- so have become a comparative expert in the art of med-taking persausion!). Good luck, they are clever little monkeys at refusing to do things at times!

JumpingJellyfish · 13/02/2009 21:19

PS. nunnie I have always drank in my usual way (not excessively, just one or two glasses of wine a couple of times a week!) during my cycle except for the week prior to AF being due, when I cut down to max. 1 glass of wine in an eve (which usually only happens once in that period). I do not abstain totally- but I test as soon as AF is late (and will then abstain totally for first trimester and very small amounts only after that). I reckon you should have that glass of vino- sounds like you deserve it! BTW when do you think you ov in your cycle? I am usually a 28-day girl too but don't know when I ov- recently my cycles have been a couple of days shorter but last one was back to 28 days.

Good luck all and welcome to all the new passengers!

TishB · 13/02/2009 22:07

LOL! HobNobFanatic 2/3 times a day! No chance!!! BDing once everyday for 5 days this month was a first in our whole ttc career of 2 years!!! I thought I was doing quite well! Sorry about your lack of BDing this month - fingers crossed for you - it only takes the one time girl!!

As my fertile days for this month are over no bding for me tomorrow night but all you ladies in the pink for this weekend - break a leg!!!!

Have a lovely Valentines and hi to all our new mummy wannabies!!

FifiOK · 14/02/2009 13:14

I think I ovulated on cd17 and we bd'ed on cd12, cd13, cd16 and cd17 so I'm on the 2ww and now got my fingers crossed.

monkeybumsmum · 15/02/2009 08:42

Morning HomeintheSun! I've got my fingers crossed here for you too x

Happy Sunday all!

louisean · 15/02/2009 09:49

homeinthesun ive got my fingers crossed too, the more better good look !!

monkeybumsmum how was your valentines day? x

Sazlocks · 15/02/2009 10:13

hi all - I'm on the 2ww as well now - not sure if I ovulated this month although I have had a few days of cramping ... but quite a lot of BDing round the middle of my cycle so here's hoping

monkeybumsmum · 15/02/2009 10:59

Ooh Sazlocks fingers crossed for you too!

Louisean thanks, it was nice! Had a bit of chocolate , some champagne, bit of bd'ing - overall a pretty good one! Shame you had to work, poor you! What do you do?

Really can't believe how fast this cycle is going Anyone else think that? I s'pose those of you already on the 2ww will not be sharing my feelings

Am due to ov tomorrow/tues I think, so am quite pleased with the bd'ing so far! We're off on holiday next Saturday, so think my 2ww might go quite fast too, what with running around like a lunatic packing, and then actually being away. Hopefully it'll take my mind off it!

So whose DH/DP was the most romantic yesterday then? I just about managed to get flowers, bless him, so that puts him out of the running . Anyone get whisked off anywhere lovely?
