Hello everyone, no tickets required, just jump on the TTC Bus, and let's hope we'll all be getting off at the November Stop.

Add your name to the list as follows:

For anyone not familiar with the acronyms....that's what number child you are tring to conceive, how many cycles you've been trying, what day you are on, and what your usual cycle length is.

Just feeling sorry for myself, sorry to go on

HomeintheSun · 10/02/2009 13:24

Hi to the newbies, Sazlocks sorry to hear you're feeling down, sending you hugs.

DH came back late on Sat night, so we bd'ed Sat and Sun night, last night DS was up until 10, we had a massive thunder storm so the dogs were back in our room crying and DH had an early start this morning so with any luck continue bd'ing tonight, I've been drinking grapefruit juice mixed with lemonade everyother day and licking the saliva ovulation test thing Sun, Mon and today. Fingers crossed for some BFP's soon, love to everyone.

Ralphie0956 · 10/02/2009 13:27

In fact I'm so tired that I've also just realised that the list isn't even updated! I'll try again.

Is you husband back helping you now? where abouts in Cyprus do you live?

Anyway lets just hope that we have a load of pregnant ladies on this thread.

VeryAnnieMary · 10/02/2009 17:27

Hello, can I play with you girls? - vital stats:

TTC #1, Cycle 0 or 1 (I came off pill new years eve but wasn't really trying last month) first natural AF for years arrived last night/today. I'm 33. I'm also scared and skittish about this whole process.

What's a UCL?

And if we're keeping score of number of times we have wee'd on a stick, I've already done that once. Fighting against addictive retesting - those things are blimmin' expensive.

monkeybumsmum · 10/02/2009 17:36

Hi All!

Sorry to hear that you've been feeling so down Ralphie. This ttc malarky is tough though - what with it taking up so much room in our thoughts, and us all wanting it so much, it's not surprising that sometimes we get down, esp when you find out someone else is pg. It will be your turn soon
Thanks for doing the updating - I'm a bit of a dizzy cow sometimes, and it makes it so much easier to look on here to see what CD I'm on, rather than counting in my diary . Maybe I should start marking it down in there to help me! I have to start my progesterone on Day 21, and am terrified of getting it wrong!

Homeinthesun Hope the bd'ing worked! And that the 2ww goes quickly for you!

Violet and Jennybensmum any news? Hope AF's stayed away...

Welcome megglesco I hope you have better luck this month. I'm so sorry about your mc How long were you trying for before then if you don't mind me asking? As for your age, I think you have plenty of time, so try not to worry about that. I'm 33 too I think it's normal for it to take quite a long time to conceive sometimes - with ds it took us 10 months and a chemical pregnancy. Looking back on that time now it seemed so short, but when we were in it it was neverending... If you are worried then maybe talk to your GP and see what he/she says. It's good to get your concerns on your notes as soon as possible, so if you go back later they have records - might help to speed up possible investigations, in the unlikely event that you will need them .

We are planning on starting to bd on Thursday I reckon Feel like we've been waiting an absolute age for this! Can't believe I'm back at this point though - feels a little like Groundhog Day!

Good luck to all x

vtiredmummy · 10/02/2009 17:39

Welcome veryanniemary and wishing you lots of baby dust and good luck UCL = Usual Cycle Length

monkeybumsmum · 10/02/2009 17:41

Hello VeryAnnieMary sorry, crossed posts!
Oh my goodness yes, pg tests are soooo expensive! Think the manufacturers are unfairly cashing in on our weakness (in my case anyway ) Am a bit of a POAS addict...
UCL is Usual Cycle Length, and don't be scared! Best thing to do is try to relax, but easier said than done I know

FifiOK · 10/02/2009 19:29

Welcome sazlocks, megglesco and veryanniemary great to have you on the November Bus. megglesco sorry to hear about your loss. I am in similar position really, had an MC in Sept, this is my 4th cycle TTC since then. I'm going to go to GP after 6 cycles I think, but I will be 37 this year, so a few years on you. I can imagine how you must be feeling, it's really tough those couple of days after AF starts isn't it.

monkeyBM you must so excited !! Are you going to try & follow Deanna Plan or just go for it ?

Good Luck everyone

OP posts:
scarlotti · 10/02/2009 21:37

Evening to the new ladies on the bus.

For poas addicts, try www.babymad.com - you can get opk's and pg tests really cheaply on there. They just come in plastic pockets so you're saving on packaging.

Am 34 this end, not had any trouble conceiving so far, just difficulty with them sticking so hoping for 3rd time lucky

What's the Deanna Plan?

FifiOK · 10/02/2009 22:24

scarlotti Deanna Plan or DP as it is often referred to on these threads is just a kind of routine to follow, during your cycle to make sure you give the sperm every chance to meet the egg. In involves using OPKs and only trying on certain nights. Obviously no routine like this can help achieve a successful pregnancy, but it helps you ensure you get timings right- after that it's all down to the science bit. If you try googling you'll find loads of info. Here is a short version.

Try every other night starting day 8
Use Ovulation tests from day 10
When OPK positive try that night & 2 more nights in row
Skip a night
Then do one last try
Do PT 15 days after OPK was positive
If OPK never goes positive continue trying until day 35
Then do test if period not begun

It is supposed to be good for those who have had pregancies or MCs before so know they don't have significant fertility problems.

I tried it last month - BFN, but I feel I did everything I could to have given it my best chance.

Good luck - I'm also trying for #3 after very easily conceived 1 & 2. MC was conceived first cylce also so not very good at this TTC over many months. OPKs, DP, counting days all new to me also.
