I've decided to start the new thread

Anyone coming to join me?

OP posts:
zoo123 · 19/07/2008 19:00

No I want another one.....

zoo123 · 19/07/2008 19:00

That should read 'Now'

rowingboat · 19/07/2008 19:41

Zoo - you need to get some sleep. I was like that, it's nature's way isn't it.
Mind you, I wish I had started right away after DS, maybe I would have had another by now. I had stupid operation to wait for though, so I couldn't. Poo!
How are you and the baby Zoo?

Juicylucytoo · 20/07/2008 23:07

Heron, what lovely news

Haven't really caught up properly, but wanted to check in.

Day 23 here and no chance of being pg this month. Nowt else to report.

Good luck everyone x

rowingboat · 20/07/2008 23:40

Hi JL2!!
Hi all, it's day 5 or something for us, so who knows. I always feel enthusiastic at this point, but as we get nearer to O day, it all tails off.
Am going to try abdominal massage this month, to see if it unblocks my tubes - well, it's worth a try.
The letter from the GP arrived on Friday, it is a copy of the one he will be sending to the clinic. It really just requests a second opinion and underlines our almost definite decision not to pursue the assisted conception option. So lets see what happens.
Might see how much Mayan abdominal massage costs - there's a lady near us that does it, but can't afford a lot of treatments.

daisy5 · 21/07/2008 09:01

cece - I didnt' apply for a job I really liked the look of because it was a maternity cover position and I had just found out I was pregant....so I couldn't have done the last two months of the job.

And I had a missed miscarriage. I really kicked myself for not applying for the job.

So many things can happen/change, you are best just to go forward.

herbaceous · 21/07/2008 11:05

Thanks girls for all the advice. Last time I got a new job (two years ago) I found out I was pregnant two weeks later. Ooops. Had a MMC, however, at 13 weeks.

Have just had my FSH level results back - good, to 'very low'. How bizarre. Is there a reason for low FSH, does anyone know?

rowingboat · 21/07/2008 12:30

Hi Herb, hope you are feeling calmer now than the PMT post.
That is interesting: the FSH. I know that clomid tricks your brain/ pituitary into thinking you are producing less oestrogen and raises your FSH levels. I wonder if high oestrogen levels do the opposite?
Another theory could be that increased progesterone levels might lower the FSH - I think that is vaguely how Agnus Castus lowers FSH levels.
It's a good thing though, in terms of fertility. As you have had no trouble conceiving you must have lots of eggs.
I have heard of people being given progesterone after conception for the first month or so, to help the pregnancy to 'stick'. Mind you, that was on a US forum, where everthing is done via private medicine and they seem to do a lot more to help - being paid and all that!

herbaceous · 21/07/2008 12:41

Much better now. Though did cry on a train yesterday when DP said 'it's not that hard, really' when I said how tricky it was balancing FTC and new job.

But then I got drunk, and all was well.

Last time I was tested, I had gallons of progesterone, so maybe that's it. SO WHY AREN'T I PREGNANT? Maybe I need to do more sex. How exhausting.

heron22 · 21/07/2008 13:16

hi herb, reading your last post where you stated that "maybe i need to do more sex. How exhausting" made me laugh cos i can totally relate to it!

it is so tiring isnt it?

you obviously got lots of eggs so that is good

BroodyBroodyBroody · 21/07/2008 15:58

Hi everyone! Glad I've found this thread!

I am 40yrs young and will start TTC in the next few weeks!!!!!

Fingers crossed everyone....

cece · 21/07/2008 20:02

herbaceous - good news with your test results. I had my FSH blood test today - got to wait a week now but in reality it will be 3 weeks as I am away on holiday for 2 weeks after that...

rowingboat - what on earth is abdominal massage - the mind boggles. I would be far too embarassed to go as my belly wobbles onit's own without someone else massage it

hello broody, nice to have some new, young and enthusiastic people join the thread! (not that the rest of us aren't... oh you know what I mean...)

BroodyBroodyBroody · 21/07/2008 20:39

---> nice to have some new, young and enthusiastic people join the thread!

Yes, more of the young please if you don't mind!!!!

What is FSH? What is it for? What does it tell you?

giggly · 21/07/2008 22:17

Hi everyone, was away last week so a long week with no mn. I am now on cd37 and hopefully bd at the right time this month.

As my cycle is so wonky it is anyone's guess when af could be due, however have started to tune into my body in that microscopic way that you do. Am I peeing more, is that a twinge in my boobs, is my sense of smell more acute all my previous preg symptoms or am I going off my head.

Herb I just read on another thread how you are supposed to bd 2-3 times every week until bfp, phew I am exhausted just thinking about it.
Good night everyone

Hi Broody, welcome! FSH levels are tested for when you give a day three blood sample, if they are below 10 you are deemed normal, if they are over, your egg supply is depleting, or something along those lines. I think it can fluctuate anyway and have seen threads where women are tested at over 10 and then under 10 a few months later, possibly something to do with stress.
Cece - Mayan abdominal massage, somebody on another thread recommended it so I did a google on it. But I also found some advice on self-massage, not paying someone else. I would be interested in talking to a practitioner, to find out whether they think it could help me. Is there no end to what we will consider??
I hope nobody recommends eating froggies in the bath as a conception aid, I would probably consider it.
I too have a wobbly belly.
Giggly - stop it! I know what you mean about the symptom thing, and then you tell yourself off

xserialshopper · 22/07/2008 17:56

Hi everyone and WELCOME BROODY

Thanks for your welcomes...it seems that I have a lot to learn, lots of new words, etc

xserialshopped, are the procedures that you list going to help you to conceive?

Anyone else about?!

daisy5 · 22/07/2008 19:11

Xerial shopper - wow, after that spring clean of your tubes and rooms, it will surely be fresh as a daisy and all ready for a little tenant?

All the best.
Daisy

Keep up the stalking...

gem2mum · 22/07/2008 21:31

Hi everyone, just checking in cos I've been to busy to get onto mumsnet. Will catch up on all your news now

Well, AF finally came on day 67so now am back on the fourth round of clomid. At least this time they will do a scan.

Can anyone recommend a digital ov moniter? I'm fed up with trying to guess my ov time with sticks that never show anything. Also, has the added benefit of not having to BD every other day for 67 days in a row (no I didn't really!)

rowingboat · 22/07/2008 21:58

Xserial the very best of luck, not that you need it. It's very exciting isn't it!! I'm sure it will work and you will be a big pudding lady in no time flat.
Gem day 67! I can't recommend anything in particular, but Heron used clear blue if I recall correctly. Cor, not surprised you didn't bd the whole time.
I'm on day seven I think, must check FF. Who else is using FF?
Broody, go to fertility friend and get the free membership, it send emails to you, which tell you everything you need to know. I did the course and it did help me a lot.

BroodyBroodyBroody · 22/07/2008 22:14

rowingboat, thanks I'll go and have a look!
