Anyone coming to join me?

Thank you, juicy. I just had a cheeky peek at your pics and, aww my God, your DS is gorgeous! Does his T-Shirt say 'Koeln Baby'? I did my degree in German and love Cologne Here's hoping your next cycle is the one.

rowing in all my self-absorbed wallowing, I have not wished you good luck for Hungary - have everything crossed for you and will be following your progress.

MGMidget · 25/11/2008 13:38

Hi Juicylucytoo, thanks for the link!

sussexoldspot · 25/11/2008 16:38

xserial, how did it go with your consultant?

Juicylucytoo · 25/11/2008 19:35

Thanks Sussex - Have added a more recent one - he just keeps getting more gorgeous - not that I'm biased

xserialshopper · 25/11/2008 20:22

Hi Sussex, thanks for asking

My Consultant can find nothing wrong with me. My tubes are unblocked and clear so....... I've been signed off and sent back to my GP What my GP is supposed to do is beyond me

Hi eveyone

OP posts:
sussexoldspot · 26/11/2008 14:36

Oh for feck's sake, xserial how irritating is that? Am so sorry for you. What will you do?

I spoke to my acupuncturist last night - she told me that this particular Consultant has a rep for being dismissive of women he thinks will skew his better-than-average success rates

She then went on to say that it may well be my age, all goes downhill after 35, blah blah

I'm so angry with the whole lot of them. The worst thing is, it could be true - after all, surely 3 mcs, one after another, isn't a good sign, is it?

grownupbabes · 26/11/2008 14:54

On the other hand Sussex, at least 3 MC shows you ARE capable of conceiving (repeatedly !). That's more than many of us. You need to work out how to make it stick. Have you tried Zita West clinic in London? I went to them for lots of advice, including nutrition and etc. Not that it's actually worked... but still at least another box to tick off, and it makes you feel like you're doing something.

xserialshopper · 26/11/2008 21:57

Hi sussex I completely block out any remarks about age and ttc

My consultant, from the very beginning, wanted me to go the ivf route- but we can't afford it.

I'm a little bit in agreement with grownup - you must be doing something right to get preggi 3 times but it would be great if someone (anyone - please) could help your little beanies to stay sticky and all you other lovlies who have had mmc. I actually think it would be more distressing to actually have a mc than to not get preggi at all (in my opinion that is)

Tried bding with dh this morning - was an utter failure It was, honestly, like sex on demand (on a work day too!!). Still, we're going for it again tonight - and I've forwarned my hubby - tomorrow morning as well

xserialshopper · 26/11/2008 21:59

Ok ladies - we're nearing the end of this thread. What should our next thread title be?

My suggestions

Damn lies and statistics 40+ TTC

Fabulous and we know it TTC 40+

40+ TTC because we're worth it

OP posts:
rowingboat · 26/11/2008 22:13

You go Xserial!!
Sorry to hear the consultant didn't have anything to tell you. It is good news that the tubes are still clear though, I have heard of them being operated on and then blocking again. I think it's just a matter of time now.
I can't remember, did your DH have his swimmers checked (recently). What was your FSH level?
I had a big discussion with DP last night about the whole IVF thing and he is more comfortable with the clinic here in the UK. I feel a bit uncomfortable now. I must admit I would much prefer not to have to leave the country, it's such a faff!
The bloke in Hungary wants me to bring an up to date FSH - but it's going to be very tight to have a test on day three which will be returned by then if I go through my GP.
I feel like emailing him back and arranging to go after Christmas. The flights have gone up drastically as well and I'm not even sure if he is charging for this consultation. DP thinks I'm a nutter.
Sorry, just dithering and dithering and aaaargh!!
Plan to phone the local clinic as well tomorrow to see if I can have another appointment, hopefully a cancellation, just to ease my mind.
It's the thought of 14 days on my own in Hungary if we decide not to go together. See we don't know what we're doing. I just feel so disorganised.
On a lighter note, I have just checked you photos Juicy and thoroughly agree, he is lovely, a real smiler!

Juicylucytoo · 26/11/2008 22:32

Rowing - how frustrating. It's so complicated. Do what feels right x

BTW thanks. He is a real blessing.

How about:

Damned lies, rubbish statistics, 40+ and still a BELIEVER!!!

sussexoldspot · 26/11/2008 22:35

xserial I agree 100% with you. For me, I think I'd rather not get pregnant than keep getting pregnant and losing the poor little mites , but then I've never been in the awful position of being pregless. That's just my opinion, I guess.

Really feel for you, rowing - what a nightmare. On a lighter note, I used to work for a company that had an office in Hungary and I got to go a couple of times a year. The locals are very, very handsome and charming (winsome sigh)

I can't think of anything witty for the new thread - can we have something to do with old hags?

rowingboat · 27/11/2008 10:34

OMG are we heading towards no more posts on this thread?! We must stop talking so much!
Not sure about the new name, I don't want to be a hag. Waaah!
I would prfer TTC stunnas and supermod-ells over forty or something along those lines. Or something to do with glamorous or sensational. I may not be glamorous, but if I repeat it often enough....
I was thinking about Herbaceous this morning, well thinking about adoption, which made me think of Herb. Has anyone seen Herb on here??
I hope the pg is all going well.

xserialshopper · 27/11/2008 11:22

No, haven't 'seen' herbs also has anyone heard from duchese and gem2mum? I've been wondering how you all are

Please LOVLIES - we need a new witty title asap

Plus, I'm hoping to troll the thread and update the statistics at the start of the next one.

OP posts:
rowingboat · 27/11/2008 11:31

Eh? What does 'troll' the thread mean? I thought a troll was somebody who changed their name and either was on a thread twice with two names or started a controversial thread. Actually, I realise that I don't know exactly what a troll is.
Got a cold waaah!
Rubbbiiiisssh!
How is everyone? Are you all healthy?

sussexoldspot · 27/11/2008 12:39

Hello!

I left herb on the Knicker Checkers thread a week or two back - all seems to be going well for her last time I looked, yippee!

Have a stinking cold and hacking cough here.

I'd like to share something terrible. I have just been for some in-house training and was the only one being trained. The trainer asked me, yes me, out for lunch and I am ashamed to say that his potential sperm quality flashed across my mind before I said 'no'. God forgive me

How about Feisty, Fertile and 40+? I do like the 'damned lies' suggestion, though.

rowingboat · 27/11/2008 13:42

Yes I like the damned lies too!
Oo er, Sussex! You vixen!
I know - the cold, I sound like an old tramp under a bridge.

rowingboat · 27/11/2008 13:45

Ooo! I have just had a thought! Did the trainer resemble either you, or your DH?
You could get away with it unless he was Chinese or Nigerian (and you aren't of course. Might raise some eyebrows otherwise.

sussexoldspot · 27/11/2008 14:28

rowing, he was very small with a moustache and a squint. So, yes, he looked just like me. Boom boom!

rowingboat · 27/11/2008 16:05

Oh we could be twins Sussex. Mind you, I don't have a squint, my eyes are too crossed.

FertilityFiend · 27/11/2008 16:55

How about 'Lies, damned lies and statistics - TTC for fabulous 40+'

or 'feisty' instead of 'fabulous' maybe?

I like the damned lies thing so looked up the origin of the phrase, it is here

Sorry not been on for a bit, will do a catch up now as this thread has been busy !!

xserialshopper · 27/11/2008 17:09

I turn my back for a few seconds and the thread is practically full

OP posts:
xserialshopper · 27/11/2008 17:11

I suppose I meant 'trawl' through the thread

Here's the new one

OP posts:
xserialshopper · 27/11/2008 17:13
