Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Honeymoon is the V Festival. Newlyweds in a field to start married life! Its very us

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 11:49

MAF - sounds like a great honeymoon! It'll be like a three day extended wedding party. Awesome!

B - I've been saying I want to go back (partly for the ice cream!), but it's so hard because ther are so many other places to visit! I envy the fact that you got a chance to stay and really experience Hungary! So where else have you lived??

eth37 · 07/08/2008 11:59

Wow, Bonifacio you lived in Budapest as well? Anywhere else to make us jealous?! I did a French degree and so I lived in Paris for a year, but that doesn't really count!

MAF v cool honeymoon!!

BSL we had a similar thing with our wedding - it was in July, but the day after (the Saturday) there was a horrific hailstorm that lasted about 4 hours! The funny thing was, we had originally tried to get that day, but it was booked up so we settled for the Friday instead - phew!

summerbird · 07/08/2008 12:03

MAF our friends had their honeymoon at Glastonbury - we shared it with them! It was so cool. Our first wedding anniversary is on 18 August - i remember the excitement all too well! Good vibes for that

summerbird · 07/08/2008 12:24

makingafamily · 07/08/2008 12:30

summerbird, your wedding pics are lovely and congrats for the 18th

DawnAS · 07/08/2008 12:34

Ahhhh BSL, we're so similar it's spooky!! Just looked at your profile page, we have a bengal too, called Lana - although she's a brown marble as opposed to Spotted - yours is gorgeous!!

Also, same age and a massive fan of Ghost Whisperer!!

Ok, back to reading and catching up, I'll post to everyone else in a mo!!

thanks MAF you and your DP look v happy too. And i echo BSL about other peoples comments, you, your DP and your bio dads have as much right as all of us to have a baby, as i said before your baby will have double the love and stability that a two parent family would have so you do right to ignore the bigots!!

DawnAS · 07/08/2008 12:40

Summerbird - lush photos hun!! My sister got married in the December before we did (Mum and Dad paid for two weddings in 4 months - eek...) and had the same colours as you - so beautiful!! I wanted red and white but fell in love with the black and white dress and it changed all the plans!!

BSL - lovely dress!! Amazing!! So lucky with the weather aswell.

We didn't do too badly, we just dodged the showers!!

The main advice that I can give you for next week MAF is that through the day, every couple of hours, just stop and look around you for a couple of minutes to take in as much as you can. DH and I hardly spent anytime together at all as people wanted to chat to you etc. So don't expect to see your DP too much on the day!! But try and remember as much as you can, it goes past so quickly!!

Hi di hi campers! I'm back!
Today I am totally rejeuvenated and happy again! Don't know what got into me for the previous 48hrs, but I'm back!
I am technically on the 2WW but is HIGHLY unlikely that I'm PG so hopes are low...though I did have a little smile when my temp went up again today. Still..I'm fairly sure that I am still eating for one! (Fertility Friend says ovulation not detected and I didn't get a positive OPK result at all) So, anyway, I'm on CD18 of a 25day cycle...and looking forward to a BD bonanza holiday next month!

Wedding pictures - what a bunch of gorgeous ladies you all are! Brought a smile to my face this rainy afternoon. I have to say, most surprising for me was Dawn...who always had dark hair in my head! No idea why...

MAF - Welcome to this exciting journey...and to our wonderful little support group! These girls are great!

Right...have a mountain of paperwork to get through. Have a fun afternoon...speak soon.

Flirty x

summerbird · 07/08/2008 13:04

and for some reason Dawn in my mind was about 4ft tall - please dont ask me why Dawn as i have no idea!!!!!!!

MAF i completely agree with Dawns advice on your wedding day - someone said that to me too as it seems that we all get carried away with it all and suddenly it gets to midnight and you dont know where the day has gone. Oh and dont worry if something doesnt go to plan - the day will be wonderful

eth37 · 07/08/2008 13:06

Welcome back Flirty and glad you are feeling rejuvenated!!

I think I have posted a wedding pic but really not convinced it has worked!!

MAF I agree with Dawn - keep stopping to take it all in. I wish I had done that a bit more! What are you wearing? How exciting!! Weather is meant to improve for next week... Whereabouts in the country are you?

heverhoney1 · 07/08/2008 13:19

Hi all. All your pictures look lovely you really are a very pretty buch of ladies!!!!

Welcome MAF!!!

I have good news and Bad:

BAD: My cycle is not normal - no opk +ves at all around the time they were due.

GOOD: OPK +VE TODAY WHOOOPPIIIEEEE

BAD: DP has ahem injured himself so likelyhood of BD today is low!!!

So It looks like at least I work a little bit but no BFP for me this month

DawnAS · 07/08/2008 13:33

Ha ha Flirty and Summerbird, it's funny when you see people isn't it. Automatically you have a view of someone in your head and they're completely different!!

I remember when I was working in Luton for a while, I used to chat to this guy from a Recruitment Agency every day (when I was trying to recruit some staff for a Call Centre) and he sounded so gorgeous. I could imagine a "Joey from Friends" look alike on the end of the phone. It had actually got to the point that we were flirting really badly, so we arranged to meet and have a "business lunch"... He was 5ft 2, tall and wide!! He had red hair and a big spot on his nose. Soooo glad that I could really use the Business Lunch excuse!!

Ooooh yes MAF, tell us about the dress!!!

Hever, what a pain that DH has injured himself!! Next time tell him to do it during AF!!

LOL Dawn at the 5ft 2 bloke- it's weird, isn't it? Actually I thought you were blonde, for some reason!!
Summerbird, I had you down as having long dark curly hair, for some reason?!?!? Bizarre!!!
I wish it would stop raining. I keep getting ready to walk to the shops, and then it rains and I am a total wimp when it comes to rain.
Have got AF cramps now.... GRRRR.
Where is crunchy?? You ok, hon?

heverhoney1 · 07/08/2008 13:51

eth - you are the one that I got most wrong I had you down as short with dark hair!!!

eth37 · 07/08/2008 13:53

Well I once dyed my hair mahogany.... But it didn't look great!

saz007 · 07/08/2008 14:22

Wow, it's been busy on here today!!

Sorry the witch got you this month Eth and hope it goes ok at the hospital

I have to say you all look really stunning on your photos! I love weddings

I'll try to upload some of my snaps too

Summerbird and Eth I had you ladies down as having long blonde hair with the rest being brunettes - it's so odd how that happens isn't it?

Congratulations and good luck MAF for next week, I will also second (or should that be fourth?) that you should stop and take a minute every now and again on your day as it really does just whizz by

I wish the weekend would hurry up and come so I'd know whether AF will turn up. I'm sooooo impatient

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 14:27

Oh no...you've all been super chatty...I had to go and do some work!! Soooo behind!

Anyhow, I definitely had a few people wrong in my head.

Eth and Summerbird - great, lovely pics! I love looking at wedding pics! Eth - so cannot picture you with dark hair...

Dawn - lol, it is spooky!! I think you joined MN a couple of days after me and when you did I was really pleased, cos we were kinda in the same boat! I am missing the dog though...I want one, but our cat would leave home I think!

Hi Flirty - good to see you all chirpy and happy again!

Heverhoney - sorry about your DH! What's he done and how long is he out of action for??

BSL x

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 14:39

Oh, and I meant to add...Dawn - I love your wedding dress. It's funny you chnaged your theme around your dress...I did exactly the same. We were going for a black and white theme and I was actually looking for a dress like yours (didn't find one!!). Ended up seeing the one I bought and ordered it in icy blue and ended up changing our theme to black, white and pale blue...

summerbird · 07/08/2008 14:44

i wish i did have long hair - i tried the curly look in the 80s which was a HUGE mistake!!!!! i looked like orphan Annie (i wanted to be Carol Decker from T'Pau but i got it sooo wrong!).

eth you look gorgeous! i am loving this piccie day!! it is a good distraction from the work i am doing..!

and welcome back flirty you seem much more chipper today.

Dawn i am loving your flirting story - i know someone else that happened to - what a disappointment!

come on heverhoney spill the beans - what HAVE you been doing to your DH??!!

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 14:55

Summerbird - I have naturally very curly hair and it's a nightmare to manage!! I adore my GHD straighteners though and wish they had been invented when I was growing up! I had a few hair disasters as a teenager, where I thought it would be a good idea to cut it all off...I had an afro for several years as I tried to grow it back!!

eth37 · 07/08/2008 14:57

I was once bored of growing my fringe out when I was about 11 or 12, so got the scissors and literally cut it off!! Had fuzzy fringe for YEARS after.... My mum nearly killed me!

DawnAS · 07/08/2008 15:08

Ha ha ha - I offered to cut my little sister's fringe once, but couldn't get it straight, so kept trying to straighten it!! She ended up with a fringe that was about half an inch long and basin like - she looked like Little Lord Fontleroy!!

Added some pics of my two wedding cakes. One normal one made by my sister's MIL and one cheese one for the evening!!
